John Cena Got A Hair Transplant
John Cena is the latest celebrity to get candid about his cosmetic surgery procedures. In an Aug. 6 interview with People, the WWE champion opened up about his life-changing hair transplant and facing the pressures of aging in the spotlight. Last July, John announced that he's retiring from the ring in 2025, and explained that "age plays a factor." The 17-time WWE World champion wants to make room for young, new wrestlers. "I'm not as strong or as fast as I used to be. I made a promise when I started gaining some notoriety that when I'm a step slower, I will go, because there will be kids just as hungry as I was who have earned a shot to see if they can make it," he said. As his retirement from wrestling approaches, he's focusing on his health and 4-year marriage to Shay Shariatzadeh. "My health and my dedication to my partner are the tip of my spear in life right now, so I think every time I go out [in the ring], I just want to make sure I'm able to give my all, but it's time to step away," John continued. The Peacemaker actor said his "farewell" tour will serve as a closure for his fans, who he described as "the reason for my optimism, my perserveance, my passion." "They don't let you get away with phoning it in, because they'll eat you alive," he added, before opening up about a topic that he's addressed recently after bullying from fans: his hair loss, and whether or not he got a hair transplant. "As I was trying to hide my hair loss, the audience was bringing it to light," John said. "I saw their signs that said 'The bald John Cena,'" he said. "They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November." "I hate the fact that if there wasn't so much shame around it, I'd have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness." The bullying doesn't work on John in the same way at this point in his career. He's actually "fired up" about the topic of his hair. "If somebody's going to sweat me for that, I don't think there's any shame in that," he said. "It completely changed the course of my life." "They don't do anything except move your hair, one by one, from one area to another," he added. The wrestling superstar has established himself as an actor with recurring roles in action movies like the Fast and Furious franchise, Heads of State (2025), or comedies like 2023's Vacation Friends 2 and Barbie. And John said his hair has given him more range to continue his acting. "A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work, do the thing I love to do." Yeah, you came in a few times out of breath and I'd give you a hard time like, 'Dude, you were just throwing the ball with the dog, why are you so out of breath?' Or going up the stairs to pray with the kids, 'Why are you out of breath', not thinking it was an actual heart issue. So, yeah. Medicines didn't work and we ended up in the ER on a Friday. Of course you wouldn't stay the night." "At the end of Kai's flag football all day Saturday, you looked at me and said, 'I'm still in AFib,' because you were doing it with the watch. I was like, 'If you're not out of AFib when we're getting ready to go to church tomorrow morning, we're going to the hospital.' Thankfully you agreed." Hospitalization and Recovery "We went to the hospital, numbers were out of whack. Heartbeat was out of whack. Your ejection fraction of how the blood was pumping was 30%, it wasn't much. Supposed to be 100%, obviously. We ended up staying in the hospital for four nights where they actually had to cardiovert you and shock you back to a normal rhythm. That sadly lasted, what, 24 hours. Maybe 48. After four days we go home, two days later you're back in AFib. Man I was stressed." The couple confirmed that The Undertaker's heart issues have since been resolved. CM Punk Praises AJ Styles After WWE RAW Showdown: 'Let's Not Wait 21 Years for the Next Time'
CM Punk and AJ Styles clash for the first time on WWE RAW after two decades. The dream matchup finally took place in a triple threat money in the bank qualifying match featuring CM Punk, AJ Styles, and El Grande Americano. Punk and Styles both considered among the greatest wrestlers of their generation had not faced each other since their early days on the independent scene. Their last match occurred back in 2004. However, despite the massive anticipation surrounding the bout, El Grande Americano scored a shocking upset over both Punk and Styles, securing his spot in the Money in the Bank match. The match saw into chaos with interference from Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. This distraction allowed Americano to take advantage. As Styles climbed the apron to hit a Phenomenal Forearm. However, Americano countered it with a mid-air headbutt knocking Styles out for the win. Booker T has very fond memories of his run as 'King Bookah' in WWE. The King Booker character was created after Booker won the 2006 King Of The Ring tournament. The gimmick was comedic in tone, but Booker ultimately pulled off what he calls his 'crowning moment' in WWE during this run. Advertisement Booker appeared on the Club 520 Podcast at WWE World and mentioned being very popular around the time of his match at WrestleMania 19 against Triple H. He mentioned being even more over as King Bookah a few years later and highlighted how much winning a World Championship under the WWE banner meant to him. Booker T believes his King Booker run outshined WrestleMania 19 'At WrestleMania 19 against Hunter [Triple H], you said I was over. I should have won. Sh*t… in 2006, I was way more over then, bro. King Booker, King Booker—I mean, come on, I mean the greatest king of them all, the most revered king of them all. You know what, man, that was some of the best times, the best time in my wrestling career, with my lovely queen, Sharmell, at my side. She actually won Miss Black America in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well. That was a moment for us, man. Rey Mysterio, I give him big props, man, because what a worker. What a worker, man. I couldn't have done it without him. But that moment, that was my crowning moment. 'That was the moment for me that really put the icing on the cake as far as my career goes. Booker T Reveals What Made Him Choose His Iconic Entrance Theme
Booker T has had some great entrance music in his career. Booker T and Stevie Ray, also known as Harlem Heat, used one of the most well-known theme songs in WCW. Their theme song later played a big part in Booker T's entrance theme when he became a singles wrestler. Advertisement While speaking on the Club 520 Podcast at WWE World, Booker T revealed how he and Stevie Ray first heard their entrance theme. As soon as they listened to it, they knew right away it was the perfect fit for Harlem Heat and said it sounded like a champion's theme. Booker T says his theme song was meant to sound like a champion's 'I remember back in late '91 when they first approached us with this sound right here. It was just out of an abundance of music that we just had to pick from. As soon as we heard it, man, I was like, 'Man, that's it. That's the song.' Just because it's very, very important as far as the music you have. You do your name, like Booker T and Stevie Ray, [we thought they were] championship names. We wanted championship music as well. And I wanted everybody, all of the fans, to have an experience when they heard that music. 'And that music was so unique it wasn't rap, you know what I mean? It had its own feel, its own flavor, and when you heard it, you'd go, 'Oh, man, here come them boys, and they about to come out here and do some work.' Man, that music still, to this day, man, it hypes me up. Man, my wife got that on her phone, and so I got to hear it every day, you know? But it's awesome, it really is.' Did you know that 'Rap Sheet' was full of shocking samples? Harlem Heat's theme was originally called 'Rap Sheet,' a song written by Didier Leglise & René De Wael. However, the song featured several surprising samples of other songs. This includes 'Music Non-Stop' and 'Sex Object' by Kraftwerk. Advertisement There is also one other pretty prominent sample in the song, which was discovered by Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp in 2021. Sapp revealed that the snippet of an odd 'brrr-like' sound actually came from a sample of 'Hateful Head Helen' by Sweet Pussy Pauline. On her song, Pauline describes how men want to stick their faces in a woman's buttcheeks and motorboat them, but 'they don't know how to ask.' Sapp asked a pretty fair and important question that still rings true… what are these wrestling music producers thinking? If that wasn't hilarious enough, non-wrestling fans even remember 'Rap Sheet' being used in a sketch on the classic comedy series Kids in the Hall.
