Maxxine Dupri proposed a challenge for the tag team titles for her teammates, Otis and Akira Tozawa. As they entered the ring, Xavier Woods turned down the challenge, but both teams were looking to brawl. Rusev Returns On WWE RAW

Image Credit: WWE After weeks of speculation, it was officially Rusev Day once again in WWE, as the superstar surprised fans and returned during tonight's WWE RAW. Rusev made his highly anticipated return in the middle of what was supposed to a match for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. The New Day had come out to brag about their win when they were challenged by Otis and Akira Tozawa. The champs challenged them to a match, and as they get got in the ring, the lights went dark. Advertisement When they went back up, Rusev's theme was playing, and the crowd went wild. The superstar came out to the ring alone, and scared off The New Day. He then cleared the ring of both Tozawa and Otis, exclaimed 'Rusev is back,' and then locked Otis in the Accolade. Rusev's return to WWE had long been speculated since his departure from All Elite Wrestling in February. In an interesting note, Rusev was not joined by his manager and real-life wife, Lana. It's unclear when or if Lana will appear alongside Rusev as of now. The former TNT Champion parted ways with All Elite Wrestling back in February. His last match for the promotion came at AEW Worlds End 2023 when he defeated current WWE star Andrade El Idolo. Rusev was originally released by WWE in 2020 after wrestling with them for seven years. Advertisement What did you think of Rusev's return? Are you excited for his return to the company? Seth Rollins steals the show as main event sizzles at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas

In what may go down as one of the greatest main events of all time, Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns and CM Punk at Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday night. As more than 60,000 exhausted fans watched, Paul Heyman turned his back on his longtime tribal chief Reigns, then on his longtime best friend Punk, aligning himself with Rollins to help him capture their triple threat match, completely shocking the capacity crowd. After an intense and incredible match that saw all three men put on what can only be described as an instant classic, each nearly winning the contest multiple times, Heyman took the crowd on a wrestling joyride by grabbing a chair at ringside while all three men were down inside the ring. Heyman, holding the chair while staring at Reigns and Punk, seemingly torn by his loyalty to both, slid the chair inside to Punk, igniting a huge roar from the crowd. After Punk took the weapon and prepared to wallop Reigns, a win appearing within his grasp, Heyman dropped to his knees and hit Punk with a low blow. Reigns, a slightly confused by pleased look on his face, then bashed Punk with the chair repeatedly. Rollins, recovering with his back to the duo, was next. But as Reigns positioned himself to deliver chair shots to Rollins, again Heyman dropped to the mat and delivered a second, even more shocking, low blow to Reigns, nearly blowing the roof off the stadium in the process. Rollins, his back still to the action that unfolded, held his hand out as Heyman handed him the weapons. Rollins delivered the final chair shot to Reigns, followed by his Curb Stomp finisher, to snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat as a shocked and emotionally spent crowd struggled to process what it had just witnessed. The finale capped a night that also saw all but one championship change hands. WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her title in a violent encounter with Charlotte Flair, the only champion to escape Las Vegas with their title in hand. In other title matches, Jey Uso defeated Gunther to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The War Raiders lost their WWE World Tag Team Championships to The New Day and United States Champion LA Knight lost his title to Jacob Fatu. Other highlights of the night included Punk being serenaded to the ring by Living Color, who performed a live version of his entrance theme Cult of Personality; a live performance of the U.S. national anthem by Jelly Roll and several spectacular entrances that featured cars, incredible ring gear and pyro. In one of the most highly anticipated matches of the night, Charlotte Flair challenged Tiffany Stratton for her WWE Women's Championship. Stratton did what few other women have in WWE in defeating Flair at WrestleMania in a championship match. The lead-up to the match was so intense, fans couldn't tell if the heat between the women was scripted or real. That carried over into the match itself, which concluded with Stratton victorious, her mouth bloodied, bruises on her face and the championship in hand. Stratton delivered an Alabama Slam into the turnbuckle and her Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the 1-2-3, for the finish. Following an injury to Rey Mysterio on Friday night during SmackDown, WWE pivoted, replacing Mysterio with its newest luchador, Rey Fenix. El Grande Americano, a mysterious luchador who looks suspiciously like Chad Gable, came out to an elaborate entrance, complete with a Mariachi band all donning El Grande Americano masks. The match opened with great pace and high-flying spots, with Americano hitting an impressive moonsault senton. In what was probably the night's most unappreciated bout, it concluded with Americano inserting a metal plate into his mask and hitting Fenix from the top rope with a diving headbutt, leading to an easy pinfall victory. An announced sold-out crowd of 61,467 took in the first night of WrestleMania 41, according to WWE. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was introduced to the crowd ahead of the women's championship match, where he proceeded to thank the crowd, announced at more than 61,000 for the first of back-to-back nights at the stadium. The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025, led by Paul Triple H Levesque, were also honoured late in the evening. Fatu gave fans a glimpse of what's to come for his bright future when he took on LA Knight in the evening's fourth match for the United States Championship. Fatu was accompanied by The Bloodline's leader Solo Sikoa, though fortunately, the latter didn't impact the match's outcome. Fatu's power and athleticism were on full display as he captured his first WWE title in his young and promising career. The back-and-forth match ended with Fatu hitting a Samoan Drop from the top rope and two of his signature moonsaults for the win. The third match of the evening featured two of the more dynamic and maybe underappreciated women in WWE, with Jade Cargill defeating Naomi. Cargill came to the ring with dyed grey hair, dressed in lightning bolt gear with a video vignette of a weather report in an homage to X-Men's Storm character. Naomi's ring gear, meanwhile, featured caution tape displaying 'Underappreciated,' 'Too nice,' and other messages. The match itself was short, but intense and featured several impressive spots. Cargill's power prevailed over Naomi's athleticism, however. Its conclusion saw Naomi lock in a submission hold, but the impressively strong Cargill escaped and delivered her Jaded finisher for the pinfall win. The second match of the evening featured The New Day challenging WWE World Tag Team champions, The War Raiders. The match only came together in recent weeks during New Day's recent heel run, but Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods became 12-time tag champs – the most decorated in WWE history — when they cheated to win on Saturday. After the War Raiders attempted their Viking Experience finisher on Woods, Kingston broke it up. With Kofi outside the ring, he reached up and held Ivar's leg, out of sight of the referee, as Woods jumped off the top rope onto Ivar's neck and scored the pinfall win. Night 1 opened with Uso challenging WWE World champion Gunther for his championship, a battle that was preceded by one of the more compelling storylines leading up to the match. Uso earned the title shot by winning the Royal Rumble in January, while Gunther spent months attacking Jay, even bloodying his twin brother Jimmy, in the lead-up. The match was well told, with Gunther playing the villainous bad guy to Uso's good guy persona. Its conclusion was as good or better than its leadup, with Uso winning his first World Heavyweight championship by using Gunther's own powerbomb, followed by three body splashes from the top ropes before locking in a sleeper hold, which forced Gunther to submit. Janmurphy@ Jey Uso def. Gunther by submission to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) def. The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) to become the WWE World Tag Team champs. Jade Cargill def. Naomi. Jacob Fatu def. LA Knight to become the new United States Champion. El Grande Americano def. Rey Fenix. Tiffany Stratton def. Charlotte Flair to retain the WWE Women's Championship. Seth Freakin' Rollins def. CM Punk and Roman Reigns in a triple threat main event.

The New Day Make History At WWE WrestleMania 41

Image Credit: WWE The New Day may not be everyone's favorites right now, but they've made history once again at WrestleMania 41. In a match against The War Raiders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships, the group once again captured the titles, breaking their own historic record. In the match, the group would utilize some underhanded tactics to win. After hitting a big stomp on the Raiders, Woods went for the pin, while Kofi — who had slid out of the ring — held down Ivar's legs. Unable to kick out, the referee counted to three, and The New Day were champions again. The group quickly took the belts and immediately ran out of the ring and up the ramp. A stunned War Raiders could only watch as The New Day celebrated their historic win at the top of the ramp. Advertisement With the win, The New Day are now 12-time tag team champions in WWE, breaking their own previous record of 11. Throughout their legendary run as a tag team, the group has held countless titles. This includes four separate reigns as WWE RAW Tag Team Champions, and seven reigns as WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The group also have the third-longest reign of tag team championships in WWE's history, at 483 days. What did you think of the finish of the match? Are you happy The New Day are WWE World Tag Team Champions again? Let us know in the comments below. WWE Raw Results, Winners And Grades On April 7, 2025

CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman in the same building. WWE Raw advertised CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman under the same roof. Raw also advertised Bayley challenging Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio and the world's most clumsy GM Adam Pearce making his next fumble of the worst storyline going this WrestleMania season between Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky. Raw also advertised the New Day vs. the War Raiders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. Adam Pearce accidentally announced that Rhea Ripley was 'representing the Judgment Day.' It was a very fitting fumble for a storyline that WWE has fumbled worse than any other this WrestleMania season. Bianca Belair made sound points about how she had to earn her way into WrestleMania, but Rhea Ripley was simply handed yet another opportunity to be world champion in less than a month. Still, fans just want to see Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, so they were spat in the face of good storytelling and booed Bianca. Bianca was wearing all black once again. A heel turn cannot be too far behind, and Bianca is quickly becoming WWE's new '97 Bret Hart as a heel who is never wrong and has every reason in the world to hold a grudge. Iyo Sky laid out both Bianca and Rhea as WWE continues to tell the story of Sky being the third wheel in this feud. I think Iyo will win at WrestleMania, setting the stage for a feud between Rhea Ripley and Heel Bianca. It was almost like WWE gave Bayley her WrestleMania singles match two weeks before WWE's biggest show. Lyra and Bayley went back-and-forth, so did Minnesota, who chanted for both. Lyra won with a counter to the Roseplant, and a frustrated Bayley stormed off. Bayley and Valkyria will team up for an opportunity to face Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Tag Titles. I could see Bayley and Lyra winning the title shot, losing the title match and Bayley turning heel. The return of 'Ding Dong' Bayley would be fire. Chad Gable appeared backstage in a segment with Bert Kreischer. In a moment that made too much sense, Kreischer was joined by Otis, and both meatheads shared a shirtless hug. American Made featured the Creed Brothers and El Grande Americano. LWO built a head of stream and led the crowd in an 'LWO' chant before hitting an impressive triple dive to the outside. The referee lost complete control of the match when the action returned to the ring, which saw a triple superplex from American Made before the break. This match was all kinds of awesome at its peak, which saw one death-defying dive after another. The finish came when El Grande Americano inserted a steel plate in his mask and hit a flying headbutt. Michael Cole noted El Santo used to also use a steel plate, but for safety purposes. After the match, Rey Mysterio demanded a match against El Grande Americano, and it was granted by Adam Pearce. GUNTHER was interrupted by Jey Uso, who sulked to the ring wearing all black. Jey was the only person in the building not yeeting. GUNTHER was (sarcastically) yeeting ore than Jey was. A furious Jey Uso slapped the microphone out of GUNTHER's hand and could barely collect himself to cut a promo. Jey Uso cut the promo of his career. He channeled all the rage and emotion that would have come across in a beatdown of GUNTHER, except in the form of a promo. He told GUNTHER he would prey for the man he was about to become. Jey said he wasn't scared of GUNTHER anymore. Fans went wild for this. GUNTHER was great in his role, where he went from cocky heel to scared-out-of-his-mind champion. I can't wait for this match. Tony Hinchcliffe appeared on commentary and made a rehashed joke about the first match Michael Cole called being David vs. Goliath. Hinchcliffe made up for it with an edgier joke about Michael Cole being 'stiffer than Big E's neck.' Wrestling is not going to like that one. The War Raiders dominated the New Day with a series of double-team power moves. Hinchcliffe was strongly in the corner of New Day. The match ended abruptly with a chair shot from Ivar to Xavier Woods. Kofi came back with a chair shot of his own on Ivar. The New Day drove Erik's face into the chair as they dismantled the War Raiders. The New Day was just barely stopped from breaking Erik's neck before being stopped by WWE officials. I smell a WrestleMania rematch, and it'll be a much deserved stage for both teams. Fans were all over Dominik Mysterio with chants of 'Dom, you suck!' Dominik hit an impressive Mexican Destroyer, followed by a 619. It legit looked like Dom was about to spring an upset before landing on Penta's knees. Dominik was impressive in this match, where the story was Dom is a 'choker' who 'can't win the big one.' Penta ultimately won with the Penta Driver. Carlito and Dom attacked Penta after the match, but Bron Breakker made the save. Bron Speared Penta, Finn Balor laid out Bron and Balor escaped a Spear. I think Dominik Mysterio wins by pinning Finn Balor. Paul Heyman insisted he will always be loyal to both Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Fans booed, but I don't know whether they were booing Heyman, Punk or Reigns. Seth Rollins twisted the knife and asked Heyman whose side he's on. Fans chanted for both CM Punk and Roman Reigns when Seth dropped their names. Reigns was booed more than Punk. Rollins told Heyman that Roman Reigns doesn't respect Paul Heyman. Rollins made a sound point about how Roman disappeared after WrestleMania and left Heyman in the hands of Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline. Of course, this led to the Bloodline massacring Heyman. Despite a strong promo, fans chanted for Roman Reigns. Counselor Rollins continued to make a strong case as he talked about CM Punk walking out on WWE and not taking Heyman with him. Seth said CM Punk was not the first choice to be on Team Roman WarGames. Seth was. Rollins was phenomenal in this segment. Since CM Punk is more interested in making money than he is friends, Rollins bullied Paul Heyman until it was worth it for CM Punk to run down and attack Seth. Punk and Rollins brawled, and the brawl ended when Rollins outsmarted Punk and hit him with a Stomp. Rollins then teased a stomp on Heyman before saying 'now, you owe me a favor.' I feel strongly that Seth Rollins will win the Night 1 main event and walk out with Seth Rollins.
