CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman in the same building.
WWE Raw advertised CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman under the same roof.
Raw also advertised Bayley challenging Lyra Valkyria for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio and the world's most clumsy GM Adam Pearce making his next fumble of the worst storyline going this WrestleMania season between Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky.
Raw also advertised the New Day vs. the War Raiders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships.
Adam Pearce accidentally announced that Rhea Ripley was 'representing the Judgment Day.' It was a very fitting fumble for a storyline that WWE has fumbled worse than any other this WrestleMania season.
Bianca Belair made sound points about how she had to earn her way into WrestleMania, but Rhea Ripley was simply handed yet another opportunity to be world champion in less than a month. Still, fans just want to see Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, so they were spat in the face of good storytelling and booed Bianca.
Bianca was wearing all black once again. A heel turn cannot be too far behind, and Bianca is quickly becoming WWE's new '97 Bret Hart as a heel who is never wrong and has every reason in the world to hold a grudge.
Iyo Sky laid out both Bianca and Rhea as WWE continues to tell the story of Sky being the third wheel in this feud. I think Iyo will win at WrestleMania, setting the stage for a feud between Rhea Ripley and Heel Bianca.
It was almost like WWE gave Bayley her WrestleMania singles match two weeks before WWE's biggest show.
Lyra and Bayley went back-and-forth, so did Minnesota, who chanted for both. Lyra won with a counter to the Roseplant, and a frustrated Bayley stormed off.
Bayley and Valkyria will team up for an opportunity to face Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Tag Titles. I could see Bayley and Lyra winning the title shot, losing the title match and Bayley turning heel. The return of 'Ding Dong' Bayley would be fire.
Chad Gable appeared backstage in a segment with Bert Kreischer. In a moment that made too much sense, Kreischer was joined by Otis, and both meatheads shared a shirtless hug.
American Made featured the Creed Brothers and El Grande Americano.
LWO built a head of stream and led the crowd in an 'LWO' chant before hitting an impressive triple dive to the outside.
The referee lost complete control of the match when the action returned to the ring, which saw a triple superplex from American Made before the break.
This match was all kinds of awesome at its peak, which saw one death-defying dive after another. The finish came when El Grande Americano inserted a steel plate in his mask and hit a flying headbutt. Michael Cole noted El Santo used to also use a steel plate, but for safety purposes.
After the match, Rey Mysterio demanded a match against El Grande Americano, and it was granted by Adam Pearce.
GUNTHER was interrupted by Jey Uso, who sulked to the ring wearing all black. Jey was the only person in the building not yeeting. GUNTHER was (sarcastically) yeeting ore than Jey was.
A furious Jey Uso slapped the microphone out of GUNTHER's hand and could barely collect himself to cut a promo.
Jey Uso cut the promo of his career. He channeled all the rage and emotion that would have come across in a beatdown of GUNTHER, except in the form of a promo. He told GUNTHER he would prey for the man he was about to become. Jey said he wasn't scared of GUNTHER anymore. Fans went wild for this. GUNTHER was great in his role, where he went from cocky heel to scared-out-of-his-mind champion. I can't wait for this match.
Tony Hinchcliffe appeared on commentary and made a rehashed joke about the first match Michael Cole called being David vs. Goliath. Hinchcliffe made up for it with an edgier joke about Michael Cole being 'stiffer than Big E's neck.' Wrestling is not going to like that one.
The War Raiders dominated the New Day with a series of double-team power moves. Hinchcliffe was strongly in the corner of New Day. The match ended abruptly with a chair shot from Ivar to Xavier Woods. Kofi came back with a chair shot of his own on Ivar. The New Day drove Erik's face into the chair as they dismantled the War Raiders.
The New Day was just barely stopped from breaking Erik's neck before being stopped by WWE officials. I smell a WrestleMania rematch, and it'll be a much deserved stage for both teams.
Fans were all over Dominik Mysterio with chants of 'Dom, you suck!'
Dominik hit an impressive Mexican Destroyer, followed by a 619. It legit looked like Dom was about to spring an upset before landing on Penta's knees.
Dominik was impressive in this match, where the story was Dom is a 'choker' who 'can't win the big one.' Penta ultimately won with the Penta Driver.
Carlito and Dom attacked Penta after the match, but Bron Breakker made the save. Bron Speared Penta, Finn Balor laid out Bron and Balor escaped a Spear. I think Dominik Mysterio wins by pinning Finn Balor.
Paul Heyman insisted he will always be loyal to both Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Fans booed, but I don't know whether they were booing Heyman, Punk or Reigns.
Seth Rollins twisted the knife and asked Heyman whose side he's on. Fans chanted for both CM Punk and Roman Reigns when Seth dropped their names. Reigns was booed more than Punk.
Rollins told Heyman that Roman Reigns doesn't respect Paul Heyman. Rollins made a sound point about how Roman disappeared after WrestleMania and left Heyman in the hands of Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline. Of course, this led to the Bloodline massacring Heyman. Despite a strong promo, fans chanted for Roman Reigns.
Counselor Rollins continued to make a strong case as he talked about CM Punk walking out on WWE and not taking Heyman with him. Seth said CM Punk was not the first choice to be on Team Roman WarGames. Seth was. Rollins was phenomenal in this segment.
Since CM Punk is more interested in making money than he is friends, Rollins bullied Paul Heyman until it was worth it for CM Punk to run down and attack Seth. Punk and Rollins brawled, and the brawl ended when Rollins outsmarted Punk and hit him with a Stomp. Rollins then teased a stomp on Heyman before saying 'now, you owe me a favor.'
I feel strongly that Seth Rollins will win the Night 1 main event and walk out with Seth Rollins.

Important Name Forced To Intervene In Bringing R-Truth Back To WWE

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. On June 1, 2025, Ron "R-Truth" Killings announced on social media that WWE was not renewing his contract. The news sparked an immediate and widespread backlash from fans and talent alike, with the hashtag #WeWantTruth trending globally. Just days later, at Money in the Bank, Killings made a shocking return by attacking John Cena during the main event. This sudden reversal left many wondering if his departure had been a storyline all along. In the post-show press conference, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque added to the confusion. When asked about the situation, he simply stated, "All part of the show." However, Killings' own son, Christopher, quickly refuted that claim in a since-deleted social media post, calling the comment "cap." That means no. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation A new report from Fightful Select has provided more evidence that the situation was not a planned storyline. A WWE higher-up confirmed the sequence of events, stating that Truth's initial departure was legitimate. INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 06: R-Truth attends Netflix's Debut of WWE Monday Night Raw at Intuit Dome on January 06, 2025 in Inglewood, California INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 06: R-Truth attends Netflix's Debut of WWE Monday Night Raw at Intuit Dome on January 06, 2025 in Inglewood, California According to the report, when WWE initially reached out to Killings for a return, he "didn't seem to entertain the calls." The dynamic changed only when WWE President Nick Khan personally took over the negotiations. It was noted that it is "rare that Nick Khan gets involved in negotiations." The higher-up emphasized that "this one was important to the company and locker room." Bringing Killings back was viewed internally as a "good sign that the roster and fan response being listened to overcame everything else." Unsurprisingly, the WWE roster is said to be "ecstatic" about his return. The report also states that when other talent asked Killings or WWE management directly, they were told the situation was not a work. This aligns with comments from people close to his family, who indicated the new deal was finalized very late in the week. The shift to using his real name, Ron Killings, is also part of the new direction. A source in WWE management noted that Killings "had indicated in the past that he wanted to have at least more of a serious run in-ring before ending his career." His value was clear, as promotions like TNA and GCW were immediately interested in booking him upon news of his availability. This leverage likely contributed to the urgency of WWE's efforts to re-sign him. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Pat McAfee spars with soccer announcer after missing semifinal of $1 million tournament

Pat McAfee doesn't even have to be somewhere to end up in the middle of a controversy. While broadcasting a seven-on-seven soccer tournament, TST announcers Sebastian Salazar and Herculez Gomez called out McAfee for not being present as the team he owns, the CONCAFA Soccer Club, played a semifinal game where the winner of the final would win $1 million. 'Hold on, we're hyping up Pat McAfee and he's not even here?' Salazar said after the duo mistakenly thought McAfee was in attendance. 'You've got to be here, your team is playing for a million bucks tomorrow. Production, what are you telling me he's got going on? WWE. You know anything about that Herc?' Advertisement 3 Pat McAfee called out broadcasters at TST for making jokes. WWE via Getty Images McAfee, who did take his eponymous show on the road to Cary, N.C. during the week for the beginning of the tournament, was broadcasting at one of WWE's premier events of the year, Money in the Bank, where he worked as an announcer alongside Michael Cole and Wade Barrett. The event featured the shocking return of R-Truth, who attacked John Cena in the main event and cost Cena and Logan Paul their tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. Advertisement It appears that McAfee got word about what they were saying about him on the broadcast. 'TST Commentary talking s–t on me,' McAfee said on X. 'Hope the CONCAFA squad s–t pumps this whole tournament.' 3 Pat McAfee was at Money in the Bank instead of with his soccer team. WWE via Getty Images McAfee then called out the commentary team, saying he 'had no idea what his name was' but that the 'guys a bum on the microphone.' Advertisement McAfee's squad was smashed in the match 5-1 as the Pumas de Alabama were able to clinch a finals berth. 'Heartbroken… Still incredibly prahd of the @ConcafaPod boys. It was a great run. The Pumas team was unbelievable.. good luck to them in the finals tomorrow.' Salazar, who works for ESPN part-time, didn't take the back and forth with McAfee lightly. Advertisement 'Sorry for your loss,' Salazar posted on X in McAfee's direction. 'Big man has some thin skin!' McAfee, a former NFL punter, founded the team and has played occasionally for them. 3 Sebastian Salazar is feuding with Pat McAfee. SebastianSalazar/Instagram 'Heartbroken… Still incredibly prahd of the @ConcafaPod boys,' the ESPN host wrote on X of his squad that is coached by former USMNT goalie Tony Meola. 'It was a great run. The Pumas team was unbelievable.. good luck to them in the finals (Monday).' The league features teams of men and women, where there is a winner-takes-all $1 million prize for both divisions. There is no second-place prize.

Vince McMahon Sells $250 Million of TKO Shares to Endeavor Group Holdings

Vince McMahon has sold a big tranche of his stock in TKO Group to Endeavor Group Holdings, the majority shareholder of the parent company of WWE and UFC. On June 3, 2025, Endeavor Group Holdings — now a privately held company that is the parent company of WME Group — entered into an agreement to purchase 1.579 million shares of TKO's Class A common stock from McMahon in a private transaction at a per-share price of $158.32 for aggregate consideration of approximately $250 million, according to an SEC filing Wednesday. The transaction closed on June 4, according to the filing. McMahon is the former CEO of WWE who sold the wrestling entertainment company to Endeavor in 2023 to form TKO. Endeavor was taken private earlier this year in a $25 billion deal with private-equity firm Silver Lake. As of April 15, 2025, McMahon owned about 8 million TKO shares, representing a 9.8% economic stake in the company and voting power of 4.1%, according to TKO's most recent 10-K. With the latest stock sale, McMahon has now sold more than $2 billion worth of TKO shares to date. That included his stock sales to TKO and Endeavor worth $311.2 million in April 2024. McMahon had joined the board of TKO Group but resigned as a director in January 2024 in the wake of sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations against him by a former WWE employee as detailed in a civil lawsuit. McMahon has strongly denied the allegations. Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said Vince McMahon sold TKO shares to WME Group; in fact, McMahon sold the shares to Endeavor Group Holdings, the parent company of WME Group.
