D.A.R.E. cop stripped of badge after own bodycam catches affair with married teacher

How D.A.R.E. they! A Tennessee cop who taught the D.A.R.E. drug-prevention program in schools has been stripped of his badge after his body camera caught him getting frisky with a married teacher in her classroom. Lebanon Police officer Brian Gilley's body cam captured him flirting with teacher Shelby Moss in her Castle Heights Elementary School classroom — and even sharing a long, steamy kiss soon after a student had interrupted them, Fox 17 reported. The pair later confessed to also having sexual interactions on school grounds — even while the cop accepts kids could still have been on campus. 4 Shelby Moss resigned from her teaching job in May. WZTV Gilley admitted that he had 'done wrong' as he pleaded for leniency at his decertification hearing in April — but was permanently banned from serving in law enforcement in May. 'You engaged in sexual activity at a school as an officer who was supposed to protect children,' said William 'Chip' Kain, the executive secretary of the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training [POST] Commission that voted to oust him. 4 Gilley is barred from working in law enforcement in Tennessee ever again. Lebanon Police Department The married teacher was suspended and later resigned. The Tennessee State Board of Education is reviewing whether to strip her teaching license. It is not immediately clear why Gilley's bodycam switched on while he flirted with the married teacher in August last year. It caught them talking about teasing each other, with Gilley telling his mistress, 'You just complain I don't touch you enough.' 'You're the one [who] teases me all night long,' he said, tellingly. A one point, a student interrupted them. But as soon as the coast was clear, the cheating teacher walked to the cop, embraced him and gave him a big smooch. 'Oh god,' Gilley gasped when they finally separated. 'I'll see you tomorrow,' he added, panting as he walked out the side door. The sexual activity they admitted to came a month later, but was not caught on bodycam. Screenshots of text messages between the pair obtained by Fox 17 show them talking about dressing up for Christmas and exchanging 'I love you's. Police and school officials were tipped off to the relationship in December 2024. 4 Screenshots show the pair exchanging flirty text messages. Lebanon Police Department 4 The pair allegedly had sexual relations at a Tennessee Elementary School. WZTV Gilley initially denied the sexual relationship during the internal inquiry, but later confessed and resigned from the force. Moss, who police confirmed was married, was suspended from the Lebanon Special School District for two days but formally resigned in May. The district reported the incident to the Tennessee State Board of Education which is reviewing whether or not Moss will lose her teaching license.

Jaw-dropping moment on-duty cop began kissing elementary teacher in her classroom before having sex with her

A police officer has been stripped of his badge after kissing an elementary school teacher and engaging in sexual activity inside her classroom. Brian Gilley was barred from ever returning to law enforcement in Tennessee after Lebanon Police Department concluded an internal investigation into his relationship with teacher Shelby Moss on school property at Castle Heights Elementary School. Extraordinary body worn camera captured part of the tryst, including the moment a student walks into the room about two minutes before the pair lock lips. Gilley had previously worked on the D.A.R.E. program educating students on drug prevention, WZTV reported. The incident in question took place in September 2024. Gilley later accepted that students may have still been on campus at the time. The body camera footage is not linked to the September incident which ultimately led to Gilley's resignation. While he initially denied the sexual conduct, he ultimately admitted it and resigned shortly after. Teacher Moss was reportedly in a relationship at the time of the affair with Gilley, according to an investigative report. In April 2025, Gilley pleaded for leniency, telling the board of his decertification hearing: 'I know I've done wrong, but I've also impacted that community in so many ways.' He was ultimately permanently banned from serving in law enforcement again in the state of Tennessee. Moss received a two-day suspension and later resigned. A spokesperson for the school district said: 'The Lebanon Special School District expects all employees to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct at all times. 'In December of 2024 we were made aware that a teacher engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a police officer after hours while on campus. 'The District immediately conducted a thorough investigation and took appropriate disciplinary action in line with our policies and procedures. 'We want to assure our families and community that we take all concerns seriously and act promptly to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone.' And Mike Justice, Chief of Police at the Lebanon Police Department, said: 'Upon receiving a complaint on former officer Brian Gilley, our staff committed to an immediate internal investigation. 'During the investigation, several issues, including serious policy violations, were identified. The policy violations also included being untruthful during the inquiry. 'While Gilley's actions did not align with our department's standards or policies, the conduct was not criminal in nature, did NOT involve children, and did NOT occur in the presence of children or in the classroom. 'We hold our officers to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Gilley's actions fell short of those expectations that our community demands and deserves.'

Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell stands behind doxing ICE agents even after officials said his actions put them in danger

The Democratic mayor of Tennessee's largest city, who has been accused of obstructing federal immigration efforts, defended his office's decision to publicly dox the names of immigration officers. Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell's defense came even after the names of federal immigration officials were removed from a public immigration report detailing a month's worth of immigration-related interactions between local police and federal immigration authorities. Initially, the public report detailed immigration officers' names, but following backlash over the move the names were taken down. 'I wouldn't say it was an endangerment process, I would say they may have some concerns – I'm far more concerned about the overall dynamic we have about unmarked, unidentifiable masked people whisking people into vehicles – i think that's a bigger concern,' O'Connell, who is currently under investigation by GOP House lawmakers for potentially interfering with federal immigration efforts, said during a press conference with reporters. O'Connell did add the move was not 'intentional,' but then quickly followed up that he wouldn't have described what happened as 'doxing' in the first place. 'It's not a process that I would characterize as doxing. It was an unintentional release of names that were already part of a public record,' he told reporters. 'They were already part of a public record by being in Department of Emergency Communication's calls, so I don't think it puts them at additional risk. But it's also not an intention of the executive order under which those names are released.' Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell was accused of obstructing federal immigration efforts. WireImage Fox News Digital reached out to O'Connell's office for comment but did not hear back in time for publication. Larry Adams, an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Assistant Field Office Director, told local Fox affiliate in Nashville WZTV that ICE agents disagree that making their names public is not a risk, noting their faces can easily be matched to photos on social media. 'It has gotten more and more difficult,' Adams said of his job under the new administration's aggressive deportation tactics, during a ride along with WZTV that occurred last week. 'What affects me the most, is we understand the job we are doing, we understand what we sign up for, it's mostly the attacks or threats against our families.' After Tennessee Republican Congressman Rep. Andy Ogles requested the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) investigate the Nashville mayor over allegedly obstructing federal officials, the agency followed through and opened an investigation. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers gathered at the DHS field office in Nashville on May 4, 2025. REUTERS Meanwhile, two congressional committees are also investigating him, including requesting documents related to O'Connell's Executive Order 30, which has required city departments to report federal immigration communications to the city of Nashville's Office of New Americans. In an interview with Fox News' Laura Ingraham, Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin remarked at the danger associated with doxing federal immigration officers, noting that the act effectively handed cartels intelligence 'on a silver platter.' 'These are the tip of the spear, these are the people on the front lines trying to make our communities safer,' McLaughlin said. 'So, when Democrats and the media show us who they are, we'll believe them, and it's the fact that they're fighting for people like MS-13 and child rapists to be on American streets.' According to local news outlet, the Tennessee Lookout, McLaughlin has also clapped back at O'Connell's claims that the release of immigration officials' names was a mistake. 'They claimed it was a mistake. There's zero chance it was a mistake, and there will be repercussions,' she said, according to the outlet.

Baby found dead at apartment day care after large dose of Benadryl, TN cops say

A 6-month-old girl was found unconscious at an unlicensed day care with nearly three times the adult dose of Benadryl in her system, Tennessee authorities said. The day care operator, 35-year-old Lourdes Hernandez, has now been indicted on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child neglect and operating a childcare agency without a license, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said March 26. The charges come more than a year after Madison Alverto-Coto's mom drove to Hernandez's apartment to pick up her daughter, only to find the girl unresponsive, police said. Children were crying in the apartment as Hernandez put water on the infant's head, then the girl's mom called 911, according to police. Hernandez told police she had put the baby down for a nap, but she couldn't wake her back up, WZTV and WKRN reported. The woman had 10 children under the age of 3 in the apartment that day, according to police. The infant was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Feb. 8, 2024, police said. An autopsy revealed she had a large dose in her system of Diphenhydramine, which is the antihistamine in Benadryl. Hernandez moved to a different apartment, where police said they found several children at the time of her arrest. Davidson County records show she was booked in jail March 21 on $150,000 bond.

Tennessee bill aims to hold charities liable if migrants they house commit crimes

A bill in the Tennessee legislature could start holding charitable organizations liable if they are housing an illegal migrant who commits a crime. House Bill 811 aims to put pressure on organizations that are not turning in migrants. However, the leaders of the organizations say the measure places an unfair burden on them, according to WZTV. The bill is co-sponsored by Sen. Brent Taylor and Rep. Rusty Grills, both of whom are Republicans. Under the proposal, charitable organizations, including churches and homeless shelters, would be liable for the loss, damages, injury or death caused by a migrant who they knowingly house if the organization's conduct in providing housing constitutes negligence, gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct. Tennessee Bill Allows Schools To Deny Enrollment For Illegal Migrants, Proposal Panned As Unconstitutional "The person that has committed that towards, they have a civil right of action against you," Grills told WZTV. Read On The Fox News App Rev. Enoch Fuzz, who is the senior pastor of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, told the outlet that only the person who committed the crime should be held responsible. "You can't hold anybody liable for the actions of somebody except for the person themselves," he said. Asked if his church planned to house illegal migrants, Fuzz vowed to help people and said he has lived his whole life "anchored in wanting to help people." Tn Lawmaker Proposes Sending Illegal Migrants Accused Of Minor Crimes To Sanctuary Cities Instead Of Deporting Fuzz was pressed further, asked by WZTV about scenarios in which a migrant commits a crime. "Well what if anybody goes out to commit a crime?" he responded. Sam Siple, the Vice President for Development and Marketing with the Nashville Rescue Mission, told WZTV that holding organizations liable is not a good solution and that it would strain resources. "Our intent here is not to be a sanctuary city, but we are a sanctuary for folks who are looking to get off the dangers of the streets and get some help, get some hope, get some food, get some shelter," he said. "So our goal is, again, to help and provide human services. It's not to enforce immigration." Grills said he and Taylor plan to add amendments to the bill to clarify what it would do, including possibly expanding what liability would entail. "The intention of this bill is not to incriminate those who provide temporary housing for a homeless shelter," Grills told WZTV. "It's to deter criminal activity."Original article source: Tennessee bill aims to hold charities liable if migrants they house commit crimes
