The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) will conduct the official draws of the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals in Doha, Qatar on Thursday, 20 February. The draws will be conducted at the world-class beIN SPORTS studios streamed live on CAF's official YouTube channel, CAF TV. Four African legends will act as draw assistants, Wael Gomaa (Egypt), Rabah Madjer (Algeria), Rainford Kalaba (Zambia) and Ben Malango (DR Congo). The draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will take place at 16h00 Cairo/ 14h00 GMT / 17h00 East Africa Time/MECCA and the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will be at 17h00 Cairo time/ 15h00 GMT/ 18h00 East Africa Time/MECCA. Fans can follow proceedings live on beIN SPORTS in Arabic on its free-to-air channel beIN SPORTS NEWS and in English on beIN SPORTS ENGLISH. A number of CAF television partners, including Canal+, SuperSport, Azam Media, SABC and more than 30 additional free-to-air broadcasters in Sub-Saharan Africa will also broadcast the draw live. Some of the other free-to-air broadcasters in MENA include SNRT in Morocco, OnSport in Cairo and EPTV in Algeria. The Quarter-Finals of both competitions will be played over two legs, with the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League scheduled for 1 April and 8 April, 2025, while the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final fixtures are set to take place on 2 April and 9 April 2025. The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has confirmed four prominent African football figures as draw assistants for the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final draws, scheduled to take place on Thursday, 20 February in Doha, Qatar. The four selected legends are Wael Gomaa (Egypt), Rabah Madjer (Algeria), Rainford Kalaba (Zambia), and Ben Malango (DR Congo). Known for his leadership and defensive prowess, Gomaa enjoyed a highly successful career with Al Ahly SC, where he won an unprecedented six CAF Champions League titles. Internationally, he was a key figure for Egypt's national team, winning three TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010. His inclusion as a draw assistant highlights his enduring influence on African football. RABAH MADJER (ALGERIA) Algerian football icon Rabah Madjer is celebrated both for his exploits as a player and his contributions to African football. Madjer famously scored the winning goal that secured Algeria's first-ever TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 1990, and his iconic backheel goal for FC Porto in the 1987 UEFA Champions League final remains one of football's most memorable moments. Recognised as one of Africa's greatest forwards, Madjer's presence adds historical significance to the draw. RAINFORD KALABA (ZAMBIA) Rainford Kalaba is renowned for his achievements both at the club and international levels. The former Zambian international midfielder played a crucial role in Zambia's historic triumph at the 2012 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). At club level, Kalaba enjoyed great success with TP Mazembe of DR Congo, winning the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and numerous domestic titles. BEN MALANGO (DR CONGO) Ben Malango is a former DR Congo international known for his goal-scoring exploits in African club competitions.
