Daryl Dixon Season 3: Release date, cast updates and what to expect next

Hey, Walking Dead fans! If you're as pumped as we are about The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3, you're in for a wild ride. After the heart-pounding finale of Season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol , the show is taking us on a fresh adventure with our favorite crossbow-wielding survivor, Daryl Dixon, and his ride-or-die bestie, Carol Peletier. Let's dive into everything we know so far about the release date, cast updates, and what's coming next in this epic spin-off. Buckle up, because this is gonna be good! Release Date: When Can We Watch Daryl Dixon Season 3? Mark your calendars, because The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 is set to premiere on September 7, 2025, on AMC and AMC+ at 9 p.m. ET/PT. This keeps the show's tradition of September releases, following Season 1 in 2023 and Season 2 in 2024. Cast Updates: Who's Joining Daryl and Carol? Norman Reedus is back as the rugged, zombie-slaying Daryl Dixon, and Melissa McBride returns as the badass Carol Peletier. Their chemistry was the heart of Season 2, and we are thrilled they're both leading the charge from the start this time. After logistical issues kept Carol out of Season 1, it's awesome to see her back in full force. But here's where it gets exciting: Season 3 is bringing in some fresh faces, especially since the show's moving to Spain. A big name joining the cast is Stephen Merchant, known for The Office and Logan . The show's also welcoming a talented lineup of Spanish actors as series regulars, reflecting the new setting: Eduardo Noriega ( The Devil's Backbone ) as Antonio Óscar Jaenada ( Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ) as Fede Alexandra Masangkay ( The Platform ) Plus, we've got recurring roles from up-and-comers like Candela Saitta ( Máxima ) and Hugo Arbués ( Through My Window ). Other new additions include Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín, Irina Björklund, Armando Buika, Javier Taboada, Boré Buika, Anna Gras, Claudio Bandini, Pedro Bachura, and Elena Sándell. This diverse cast promises a mix of allies, enemies, and maybe a few surprises. Sadly, we're saying goodbye to some familiar faces from the France arc, like Clémence Poésy (Isabelle) and Anne Charrier (Genet), since the story's shifting to Spain. It's bittersweet, but we are excited to meet the new characters shaping Daryl and Carol's journey. What to Expect: A New Adventure in Spain Season 3 is expected to pick up after the emotional and action-packed events of Season 2, where Daryl and Carol fought their way through France. Now, they're on the move again, heading from the Chunnel (that tunnel connecting France to England) to Spain, with a quick stop in London. The official logline teases that they're 'continuing their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love.' But, as always, the road to home is never easy in The Walking Dead universe. The shift to Spain is a big deal. Showrunner David Zabel and executive producer Steve Squillante have hyped up Spain's unique vibe, from its rich culture to its diverse landscapes. Expect to see Daryl and Carol trekking through places like Madrid, Granada, and Belchite, facing new walkers and human threats. The teaser trailer (check it out on AMC's socials!) shows them navigating rugged terrain, with Daryl hinting at being 'ready to give up' before finding new purpose. The season's 'road show' format keeps things fresh, with Daryl and Carol constantly on the move. This isn't just about surviving walkers; it's about their bond and their desperate hope to get back to the US. Will they finally make it home? Or will Spain throw them some curveballs that complicate their plans? We are betting on the latter, because, you know, it's The Walking Dead . Ahmedabad Plane Crash

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 26 (UPI) -- AMC has ordered a fourth and final season of its Walking Dead spin-off, Daryl Dixon. Set in Europe, the zombie-apocalypse series stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride as Daryl and Carol, fan-favorite characters from the original U.S. show, which ran for 11 seasons. "Daryl Dixon has been an incredible journey. I thank each and every fan who has joined us on this ride," Reedus said in a press release on Friday. It's been a privilege to build this story for these characters, and we have so much gratitude for how it's been embraced. Your love and support have made every moment worth it. This finale isn't just an ending; it's a celebration of what we've all shared together. Keep carrying that love forward -- Daryl's journey is far from over." Season 3 is set to premiere in September. Production is to begin in Spain on Season 4 this month.

‘Daryl Dixon' Is Ending, Likely Heralding The End Of ‘The Walking Dead'

Daryl Dixon While AMC has been greenlighting and filming the Walking Dead spin-off Daryl Dixon non-stop, already approving of four seasons before the third has even aired, it's all coming to an end. AMC has announced at the show's Comic Con panel that season 4 will be the last season of Daryl Dixon, a bit of a surprise given how full-steam it's been going since its premiere in 2023. Again, it's only been two years and the show is defying traditional streaming rules by coming out quickly with seasons often filming as others are airing, or near that. Daryl Dixon ending means that there is literally just a single, non-cancelled (as of now) show in The Walking Dead universe. That is Dead City, which was surprisingly renewed for season 3 recently. It stars Negan and Maggie in New York City, and has been less popular and lower profile than Daryl Dixon. But it's coming back all the same. It is hard to imagine, given this news, that the complete and total end of The Walking Dead, at least for a long, long while, is not nigh, lasting probably two more years, at best, barring any huge announcements. Everything is done: Dead City And now Daryl Dixon, but if Dead City lasted longer than when season 4 of Daryl Dixon is out, likely in 2027, I would be surprised. There have been no other spin-offs announced featuring other characters from the series, characters that I would say would have to be less popular than Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Negan and Maggie, really all of the still-alive main leads, that are now seeing their projects wrap up. The Walking Dead really was a global phenomenon for a while, its peak being back in 2014 with the introduction of Negan, albeit his brutality began a sharp fall-of shortly after. The main show ended in late 2022, but with its spin-offs ending and nothing new on the docket, this may be it. Of course, this is Hollywood and it's possible that The Walking Dead will simply be rebooted someday. Hell, I'm not even sure it's a bad idea, given some of the huge, very bad changes the series ended up making over the years (RIP Carl) that it could then have the chance to correct. It's also possible that AMC may announce even more TWD projects in the coming years, but more than anything, it feels like this well has gotten dry, and it's time to move on to other, more current projects like the channels burgeoning Anne Rice universe. AN urban explorer has revealed creepy shots of an abandoned millionaire's mansion - with the car still in the driveway and a half-eaten meal in the kitchen. The sprawling property looks as though it's frozen in time, with the lights still left on and kids' toys scattered on the floor.
