2025 Walters Cup semi-final live stream

Don't miss out on the headlines from Rugby League Live Stream. Followed categories will be added to My News. The Walters Cup season will reach a flash point on Thursday with two sudden death semi-finals. In a Gold Coast derby, Keebra Park SHS will clash with arch-rivals Palm Beach Currumbin SHS, while in the other match there will be a cross river donnybrook when Wavell SHS and Mabel Park SHS confront each other. All games will be live streamed by this masthead via KommunityTV. Keebra Park SHS and Wavell SHS will be favourites to progress into the grand final, but the form guide can be thrown out the window when it comes to finals football. There are a number of future talents, some already connected with NRL clubs in their academy systems, who will need to be watched in the finals. + Sonny Hewitt (Keebra Park), a sublime fullback this season + Jaylon Russell (PBC SHS), the PBC SHS fullback who has been fearless and fast both scoring and creating tries; + Aki Tupouniua and Maihi Pene (both Wavell) who have ran the show with class and control; + Austin Desmond (Keebra Park SHS) who has been his team's forward leader; + Alex Ruiz (Keebra Park) and Max Imrie (PBC SHS), rival No.9s who have been the best little men in the competition; + Forwards Lenton Funaki, Cruz Molo and Lennox Lakatani (Wavell) who can power their side to victory; + Ezekiel Filipi (Mabel SHS) who has been arguably the best player in the competition this season. His little mate, Tristan Ford-Walters has been grand at hooker as well. + MJ Otunuku (Keebra Park SHS), the Keebra lock who has led from the front; + Iki Bilish (PBC) who will take on the big men from Keebra Park. Enjoy the best Year 10 football in the land when the four teams compete from 12.25pm. Originally published as 2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Watch the Walters Cup semi-finals double header

2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Palm Beach Currumbin SHS v Keebra Park SHS, Round 7

Don't miss out on the headlines from Rugby League Live Stream. Followed categories will be added to My News. The annual Gold Coast derby takes on a whole new meaning as the wildest week in Langer Trophy history kicks off. Any of four schools finish second on the ladder, with a guaranteed finals bye week, or miss out on the finals entirely. It sounds absurd but a season of twists and turns has forged an almighty ladder logjam where only minor premier Keebra Park is safe from being bundled out of the finals the week before they begin. That is why Palm Beach Currumbin coach Tim Maccan has hailed the Langer Trophy as Australia's greatest school footy competition, and why his school will fight to break arch rival Keebra Park's unbeaten streak at Burleigh on Tuesday. The clash will be exclusively live streamed FREE on KommunityTV as part of a final round double header which kicks off with the Walters Cup (Year 10s) from 4.45pm. Only News Corp Australia subscribers can watch the Walters Cup. A Reds win of any scale will lock in a finals bye or a semi-final against the Titans Cup winners, and Langer Trophy finals qualifiers, Marymount College, as reward for finishing second or third. A heavy loss could see Palm Beach tumble out of the tournament's top five and end its national championship defence by Wednesday. Picture: Liam Kidston 'It's always a special occasion playing Keebra Park … but it does have a bit of extra special meaning this week,' Maccan said on the eve of the Gold Coast's biggest school sporting rivalry. 'It will be the biggest games of some of these kids' lives playing for the school, 100 per cent. 'This potentially could be their last game of senior footy for their school so it's definitely going to have some meaning, that's for sure. 'It's basically a grand final because if we don't play well and put ourselves in a position to win the game, we will fall down the ladder or possibly even out of the finals altogether. 'The boys are aware of that and know they have to play well.' NRL National Schoolboys Cup final at CBUS Stadium between Palm Beach Currumbin and Patrician Blacktown Brothers. The Red Army and Palm Beach Currumbin players celebrate the win. Picture Glenn Hampson Defeat would give the school a best-case scenario finish of fourth but the possibility exists (if PBC lose, Marsden beat Mabel Park, Ipswich beat Stretton and Wavell tie Redcliffe) that the national champions could be eliminated on points differential. Maccan is keeping it simple for his students: take the fight to Keebra in the biggest game the school has played since last year's national decider and the equation will take care of itself. 'It's really encouraging that the competition is so tight,' the coach said. 'It just goes to show the southeast Queensland competition is probably the best in Queensland and possibly in Australia. The quality of teams and the tightness of the competition, the evidence is there for the latter. Keebra Park centre Joseph Tupuse has been one of the best strike weapons in the competition. Photo Steve Pohlner 'It's definitely a game on the calendar the boys look forward to, and it does draw a big crowd from both schools, but with where we're sitting in third spot we need to put in a good performance to make sure we cement a position in the finals. 'It would be good to finish second (on the Langer ladder) but more importantly we just want to finish on a high note.' Titans-contracted backrower Kobe Hauraki will undergo a fitness test to make his Langer Trophy debut for the school against Keebra.

2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Marsden SHS v Keebra Park SHS, Round 4

Don't miss out on the headlines from Rugby League Live Stream. Followed categories will be added to My News. Unbeaten Keebra Park will ignore Marsden State High School's 1-2 record this Langer Trophy season when two of Queensland's blue-chip schoolboy rugby league teams clash in Brisbane on Wednesday. Spearheaded by a pair of Burleigh Bears Mal Meninga Cup champions in halfback Hayden Watson and middle forward Tupou Francis, Marsden's Makos possess plenty of bite but are running out of time to prove it. The Keebra v Marsden clash will be streamed LIVE and FREE as the match of the round on KommunityTV from 4.30pm. The Walters Cup match will kick off the action from 3.15pm with the Schoolgirls Cup fixture to wrap up the day from 5.45pm. The cutthroat Langer Trophy will see five of eight teams progress to the NRL Schoolboys Trophy playoff system and only one team, Stretton State College, is a minnow. Re-qualifying for the 2026 Langer Trophy is an ignominious fate that could befall Marsden, Ipswich or Wavell unless those teams can find their attacking firepower, defensive resolve or both. That is why Keebra Park coach Peter Norman is urging his players to give nothing to Watson and Francis as they attempt to kickstart Marsden's season in front of the Cameron Smith grandstand. 'I'm not reading too much into where they're sitting on the ladder currently because if you look at the strikepower in that team they still have a couple of really quality players,' Norman said. 'Hayden Watson, Tupou Francis and Taylan To'a are three Queensland Schoolboys players that are playing really well so we're not reading into their latest results. 'We're preparing ourselves for a finals match intensity.' Middle forward Francis, the younger brother of former Marsden centre/five-eighth Tony who is now with the Titans, was the man of the hour in the Bears' Mal Meninga Cup grand final. His last minute charge in golden point sealed state glory for Burleigh and underlined why Keebra can never lose track of the under-17 Brisbane Broncos forward prospect. 'We highlighted a couple of his clips on Monday and they showed the classy player he is,' Norman said. 'It just reiterated the fact that we can't have any plays off in defence or else he'll pull our pants down, basically. Our job will be to control the ruck speed and that will allow us to put a bit more pressure on him. If we're having a lazy moment and he can get on the back of a quick play-the-ball the alarm bells are going to be ringing for us.' Queensland under-19 State of Origin half is a known quantity that Keebra Park will also keep front of mind. 2025 Langer Trophy live stream: Ipswich SHS v Palm Beach Currumbin SHS, Round 3

Don't miss out on the headlines from Rugby League Live Stream. Followed categories will be added to My News. He was given a baptism of fire against a tough Marsden State High in his Langer Trophy debut, and Ispwich's Baxter Best more than stood up to the challenge. But what will be in store for the brother of Blues Origin star Bradman Best when he clashes with the might of reigning national champions Palm Beach Currumbin. The clash will be streamed live and free on KommunityTV on Tuesday afternoon, headlining a big triple header which features the Walters Cup (Year 10) and Schoolgirls Cup. There is a storied history between Ipswich and Palm Beach Currumbin, with the two schools meeting in back-to-back Langer Trophy deciders between 2022-23. Palm Beach Currumbin enter round 3 with a 24-4 confidence-boosting win over Wavell behind them. Picture: Liam Kidston Ipswich only just escaped the Makos by the skin of their teeth in round 2, with Best brilliant when he was thrust into the fray earlier than first anticipated. 'I said 'unless there's an injury, I'll put you on with about 20 minutes to go and we will give you an experience',' coach Josh Bretherton said. Unfortunately a concussion to right centre Tomu Cook early in the match created the opportunity for the 16-year-old to show his wares as the youngest on the field. With just his second touch of the ball, Best made a thrilling break and set-up the match-sealing try to fullback Tom Parker. Best's sound performance was a great early indication of his ability to play above his age. The Year 10 student is a rare breed because to accelerate his development, he is bypassing the Walters Cup to play Opens football. Reece Walsh (Keebra Park) and Jared Horne (current Wavell senior) are a few others to have done this. Wavell SHS senior Jared Horne, pictured as a Year 9 student, made his Langer Trophy debut in Year 10 and is making his way back from a patella fracture in his knee. John Gass 'We felt that the best thing to do was to try and challenge him,' said Bretherton. 'To try put him out of his comfort zone.' Best thrived in the new environment. 'I thought he did a really solid job,' Bretherton said. 'I asked him to do some simple things defensively on exit and stuff and he did those things for me which is what I am most proud of. 'He did the team contribution stuff he needed to do and when the game broke open for him, he was able to do the bits everyone knows he can do.' Baxter Best gets the ball away to Tom Parker. Picture courtesy of Jack O'Brien. His positive touches and runs from right centre were welcomed given the turbulent lead up to Wednesday's game that saw Ipswich lose both its edge forwards. Starting second rowers Innocent Baruani (concussion protocol) and Elsiyah Laumatia (ankle) were both late outs in the 24 hours leading up to the round 2 heavyweight bout, with Laumatia rolling his ankle the morning of. With Ipswich lacking two potent forwards, Mel Nonu stepped up to produce a titanic performance on the wing. Nonu, the younger brother of Dolphins young gun LJ, caught high balls extremely well under pressure and when his teammates were tiring late in the game, he maintained a high standard. He caught the ball all alone with Marsden defenders rushing forward and carried the ball out of the Ipswich half with vim and vigour. 'He kept showing up and carrying. I couldn't be more proud. He was so, so valuable,' Bretherton praised. Nonu's rapid rise to being one of the first picked each week for Ipswich is the product of a strong pre-season. Mel Nonu has been outstanding in 2025. Last year Nonu was getting better with every game in the Langer Reserves competition before going on to start all nine matches in this year's Mal Meninga Cup for the Jets. 'We thought he could play at this level but that he was going to have to work hard to get to this level and there was no guarantee he would've done it this year,' Bretherton reflected. 'When he rolled back in (after the summer holidays) and obviously watching how well he played for the Jets, it was like 'oh he will do it easy'. 'He was just a completely different player.'

He will assume full control of the Reds following a cruel pre-season injury blow to experienced playmaker Marley McLaren and the graduation of 2024 Peter Sterling Medallist Zane Harrison. McLaren will aim to be back for the finals, but in the meantime Lateo will assume the senior halves' role. PBC SHS players Marley McLaren and Taj lateo with Broncos legend Kevin Walters after the school won the Walters Cup in 2022. McLaren is again injured and Lateo will be the senior half. It is not the first time Lateo has run the show. He was also the senior half and captain of PBC's 2022 Walters Cup-winning side after McLaren went down with a wrist injury. 'He will run the team and will be fine,'' PBC SHS coach Tim Maccan said. 'He did that for South Coast recently, he took the steering wheel and managed really well. 'At Mal Meninga Cup level, he stepped in this season when Zane Harrison and Javon Andrews were out (for Tweed Seagulls).'' Mabel Park SHS coach Ben Weston said starting strongly was crucial in the Langer Trophy this season.
