Twelve-time Winner: PruBSN Maintains Top Spot In Family Takaful At MTA Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN) has once again been named Malaysia's Best Takaful Operator – Family Takaful Agency Business for its 12th consecutive year at the Takaful Star Awards 2025, hosted by the Malaysia Takaful Association (MTA). In a statement issued today, PruBSN said that this continued recognition reaffirms the company's commitment to excellence in the Family Takaful segment since its establishment in 2006. Over the past two decades, the company has demonstrated consistent growth, offering Shariah-compliant protection solutions that are accessible and relevant to the evolving needs of Malaysians. According to PruBSN chief executive officer Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail, the company remains committed to offering affordable, high-quality protection, despite inflation and a 16 per cent annual increase in medical claims costs between 2021 and 2023. 'Despite these challenges, we remain committed to offering quality protection solutions that strike the right balance between affordability and comprehensive coverage. 'We continue to focus on sustainable innovation – enhancing value for our customers without compromising coverage and the quality of protection. Through continuous education, we ensure our customers are empowered to make informed decisions,' he said in the statement. Wan Saifulrizal also mentioned that in 2024, PruBSN had disbursed a total of RM1.2 billion across all claims, reflecting the company's dedication to supporting customers during times of need. Its growing portfolio includes products such as PruBSN AnugerahMax, Asas360, Medik Asas, Crisis TotalCare, Medic TotalCare and Health360, all tailored to address rising healthcare demands and financial uncertainties. Driven by its core principle of Ta'awun (mutual assistance), PruBSN also champions community-focused initiatives like the Microtakaful Jariyah programme, which offers free coverage for B40 income segment. Since its inception, the initiative has reached over 188,000 individuals with close to RM5 million in claims paid out.

GENERAL KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) honoured the outstanding achievements of the nation's takaful industry players at the Takaful Star Awards 2025 (TSA 2025), held last night at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Themed "Honouring Excellence, Inspiring the Future", the event gathered more than 700 guests, comprising senior management of takaful and retakaful companies, Islamic finance industry experts and takaful agents nationwide. MTA chairman Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail said the awards were not merely a celebration of achievements, but also a recognition of individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to society by upholding and promoting takaful values. 'Tonight, we are not just celebrating success, we are elevating those who have shown excellence and inspiring everyone to continue delivering takaful values ​​to society. This is about the impact, trust and social love that we deliver," he said in his opening speech. Meanwhile, MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said the awards reflect the evolution of the industry, which is centred on value, effectiveness and a sustainable future. "Through the Hijrah27 industry transformation plan, we are committed to building a more dynamic and high-impact takaful ecosystem', he said. He added that this year, MTA witnessed the success of various initiatives, including the Professionalism of Insurance and Takaful Agents (PITA) and the Value-Based Intermediation Roadmap for Takaful (VBIT), which have set new benchmarks in empowering professionalism, digitalisation and a high-performance culture among takaful agents and operators. TSA 2025 also saw the introduction of the Trailblazer Award: Anugerah Inspirasi Hijrah, which was given to the Pilgrims Fund Board, through the TH Khairat initiative, for its extraordinary support for the Hijrah27 transformation, as well as making a real impact in expanding access and acceptance of takaful protection in Malaysia. A total of 68 recipients were recognised across 31 award categories, reflecting excellence in various segments of takaful services.
