Rapper Tory Lanez, who is serving 10 years for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed 14 times. The hip-hop artist, 32, was attacked by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, north of Los Angeles, on May 12. According to his social media page, Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, suffered two collapsed lungs and was placed on 'breathing apparatus'. His team confirmed he was stabbed a total of 14 times, including seven back wounds, four in his torso, two in the back of his head and one to the left side of his face. Images of Lanez immediately after the attack have now been released, with footage of the attack also showing the altercation taking place in the prison. Images showed the artist topless with white shorts covered in blood. His face and torso were also covered in blood. Days after the attack, Lanez's team confirmed that he was able to breathe on his own and also confirmed he is 'talking normally' and in 'good spirits' despite being in pain. The attack happened around 7.20am local time on Monday, May 12, Pedro Calderón Michel of the state's corrections department told Metro at the time. Prison staff performed first aid on the rapper before he was rushed to hospital, Michel added, confirming an investigation is underway and the rapper was in 'fair condition'. Peterson was allegedly attacked by a fellow inmate Santino Casio, who is serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, personal use of a dangerous or deadly weapon, and inflicting great bodily injury. More Trending TMZ reports that after Peterson was transported to an off-site hospital, Lanez was airlifted to Kern Medical Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition after he was stabbed with a 'prison shank'. The 30-year-old accused her former friend of shooting her in the feet after a violent argument as she left a party in July 2020. She was left wounded after the shooting and needed to undergo surgery to remove bullet fragments from her feet. Lanez was arrested at the scene for carrying a concealed weapon but denied shooting her for months after the incident, at one point suggesting there was a smear campaign against him. Appearing in court in 2022, the Wanna Be rapper – real name Megan Pete – became emotional as she recalled the shooting, telling the jury that she wished she hadn't survived her ordeal. In December 2022, a jury in LA found the Say It rapper guilty of three felonies. The jury deliberated for one day in August 2023 before convicting Lanez. He was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Got a story? Chart-topping star 'confirms' major plastic surgery procedure after being called out by fans
Rapper GloRilla has seemingly confirmed that she has gone under the knife for a nose job. The hip-hop star, 25, sparked speculation this week that she had transformed her appearance after sharing a pair of selfies to social media. In the images, the Wanna Be hitmaker's nose appears more shaped and sculpted compared to before. Fans online quickly started debating over whether or not she'd had her nose done, before GloRilla herself seemed to cryptically allude to the rumors on X by posting the statement '& DID' alongside a smirking face emoji. The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne tha God and Jess Hilarious both took GloRilla's comment as an official confirmation and discussed her alleged procedure on Thursday's show. 'Maybe she felt like her nose was too big, obviously, cos she went and got a little one,' Jess said. 'I've felt the same way my whole life but I'm not getting a nose job,' she added. Jess then claimed that her nose had naturally enlarged after the birth of her last child. Fans couldn't resist weighing in on GloRilla's rumored procedure, with one writing, 'I thought her nose that God gave her was beautiful.' Another wrote, 'I think that's a real shame. I loved how natural she was.' A third added, 'Let's all stop being NOSEY and mind our business,' while another gushed, 'Sorry but I love her glow up. She looks beautiful!' has contacted GloRilla for comment. GloRilla has emerged as one of the biggest names in hip-hop over the past few years thanks to her collaborations with A-list rappers like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Some of her most notable hits include Blessed, Tomorrow, Yeah Glo!, TGIF, Whatchu Know About Me, and the Grammy-nominated F.N.F. (Let's Go). Back in March, the rapper was forced to end her concert at The Factory in Chesterfield halfway early after fans repeatedly brawled in the general-admission floor section. In fan footage, the star could be seen performing with her backup dancers before spotting fists flying in the crowd. 'Hey, hey, hey! They out there fighting. Come on man. Y'all better than that,' GloRilla (born Gloria Hallelujah Woods) scolded her fans. 'Come on, St. Louis. Come on, y'all ain't that mad. Ain't nobody do nothing that bad for y'all to be out there fighting. Y'all supposed to have a good time. Be glorious for the Glorious Tour. What's wrong? What the problem?' The three-time Grammy nominee stood silent watching for a bit before marveling: 'They still going! Calm down! Be calm, be calm, be calm. S***.' GloRilla had to pause her show in support of her 2024 debut studio album at least two more times. 'Calm the f*** down, s***. What the f*** is the problem? I think y'all came to the wrong show. Y'all supposed to be at WWE. Y'all wasn't supposed to be at the Glorious Tour if y'all going to be doing this fighting,' the Memphis-born hip-hop star scoffed. 'We gotta end the show, St. Louis. There's another motherf***ing fight. I love y'all. I don't want to do this. But we gotta make sure safety first. I love y'all, St. Louis.' At that, GloRilla flashed a heart shape with her hands at the audience, turned, and walked off the stage.

Cardi B Is Getting as Impatient as Her Fans While Waiting on Features to Finish New Album
Cardi B knows her fans are growing increasingly impatient while waiting for her second studio album. She's getting restless, too. During a recent Instagram Live, the rapper blamed the prolonged delay of the long-awaited record on the string of featured guests who haven't turned their verses in yet. 'I really need these fucking features,' Cardi said. 'I'm not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it's like come on now, I need that. I need that right now. Y'all don't want to miss this opportunity.' More from Rolling Stone Cardi B and FKA Twigs Lead 2025 LadyLand Lineup Plies Drops Lawsuit Against Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Cardi B Over Sample on 'Wanna Be' Ozuna and Cardi B Have a New Song in the Works, 7 Years After 'Taki Taki' She previously revealed that the album, which does not have a scheduled release date or official title, will feature the return of familiar collaborators, as well as welcome new and surprising guests she has not worked with before. Her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy featured collaborations with SZA, Kehlani, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, YG, and more. In the seven years since that record, Cardi has scored hits with Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, GloRilla, Ozuna, and more. 'I'll sing this shit myself,' Cardi said on Instagram Live, essentially noting her willingness to wait as a courtesy to her collaborators. 'But I really need y'all and I need y'all to hurry up and I love y'all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.' When Rolling Stone caught up with Cardi in March 2024, the album was still in a fairly skeletal state. It needed an intro, at least three more songs, a title, features, a rollout plan — all of the fixings and the works. She also wasn't sure how much she wanted to pull back the curtain. 'I really want to talk about the life changes that I've been dealing with the past six, seven years,' she said. 'But then it's just like, I feel like people don't deserve to know because people use my pain against me.' Still, Cardi is confident that the album will be worth wait. The fact that people are still waiting for it is proof. 'I know for a fact I'm a staple,' she said in her June 2024 cover story. 'I know for a fact that I [opened] a fucking door. I know for a fact that I [can] rap. I know for a fact I make fucking hits. Sometimes people be trying to belittle me, and it's like, 'No, I'm that bitch and y'all fucking know it.'' Del Records CEO Guilty of Violating Kingpin Act for Working With Cartel-Linked Promoter
The CEO of Del Records has been found guilty of violating the Kingpin Act and will face a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Ángel Del Villar, who's behind the label, was found guilty of conspiracy to transact with a cartel, along with 10 other counts related to the Kingpin Act. According to a statement from the DOJ, Del Villar — and co-defendant Del Entertainment — was found guilty of doing business with Jesus 'Chucho' Pérez Alvear, a promoter that worked directly with Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación and Los Cuinis, two drug cartels in Mexico. In 2018, the DOJ designated Perez as a 'narcotics trafficker' after finding that he was helping the cartels launder money. (Perez was killed in December 2024.) More from Rolling Stone Plies Drops Lawsuit Against Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Cardi B Over Sample on 'Wanna Be' Rolling Stone Investigation Into Snowboarder Turned Drug Lord to Become Docuseries 'There's No Second Amendment Right to Sell Guns to the Cartels' 'The defendants here chose to get into business with an individual they knew had ties to the CJNG and had been designated a narcotics trafficker under the Kingpin Act,' said United States Attorney Joseph McNally in a statement. 'Cartels and transnational criminal organizations cause immeasurable harm to our country. We are using every tool to eliminate these organizations and will prosecute those that do business with cartels.' Del Villar is set to be sentenced during an Aug. 15 hearing where Del Villar faces a maximum of 30 years in federal prison for each count. Meanwhile, Del Entertainment faces five years probation and a fine of $10 million. An attorney for Dell Villar did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone's request for comment. During opening remarks of the case, Del Villar watched as prosecutors said that Del Records' former top artist, Gerardo Ortiz, had already pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in the case and would be testifying against Del Villar. According to prosecutors, FBI agents tracked Ortiz down at a Phoenix airport and handed him a letter in April 2018 that informed him he needed to stop performing at shows organized by Perez. Prosecutors claimed Ortiz initially planned to stop playing shows for Pérez but was persuaded by Del Villar to keep appearing. Gerardo Ortiz parted ways with Del Records in 2019 amid a contract dispute. In a statement after the start of a trial, a lawyer for Ortiz told Rolling Stone that his client's guilty plea was highly tailored, relating only to his transactions with Pérez in the context of concert performances. 'Gerardo Ortiz has not pled guilty to conspiring with or doing business with Mexican drug cartels, nor is he cooperating against the cartels. Mr. Ortiz is a witness in this trial, and he has testified truthfully about performing at concerts in Mexico on behalf of promoters whom the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) has banned Americans from doing business with,' lawyer Mark Werksman said earlier this month. 'Gerardo and other artists performed at these concerts upon the assurance of his former manager that he could, when, in fact, performing in those concerts was a violation of federal law.' Hannah Berner admits to ‘careless choice of words' after backlash over Megan Thee Stallion Oscars
Hannah Berner has spoken out about the backlash she's faced for her interview with Megan Thee Stallion at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. The 33-year-old comedian hosted the annual after-party red carpet with reality star Paige DeSorbo on Sunday, where she told the rapper her music makes her 'want to fight someone.' Berner posted a statement on her Instagram Story on Thursday, admitting her choice of words was 'careless.' 'Interviewing Megan Thee Stallion was a dream of mine. I love her music, and it's my go to whenever I need to boost my confidence before a show,' she wrote. 'Looking back at the interview, I wish I used any other word except 'fight' to describe how her songs impact me. 'It was a careless choice of words and though there was no ill intent, I recognize and acknowledge that what I said has a deeper meaning and I am so sorry Megan,' Berner concluded. 'I appreciate everyone who brought this to my attention.' Berner's interview had been called 'egregious' by fans on Reddit's Pop Culture group, with some even accusing the comedian of committing racial microaggressions. 'Your music has literally made me, like, when I want to fight someone, I listen to your music,' the comedian told the rapper on Sunday. Megan subtly attempted to rebut her comment, saying: 'You want to throw that fighting s*** out the window. You want to get cute and be a bad b****.' Berner agreed, but said 'when people are talking s***,' she turns on Megan's music. She then expressed how much she admires the 'Wanna Be' singer, and asked her how she gets up and 'inspires people.' 'I just look in the mirror and I'll be like, 'Damn, you that girl, right? Yeah, you are that girl. So go outside and act like you that girl,' Megan responded. 'And then that's how I tackle my day.' On Reddit, fans seethed over Berner's remarks. 'Omg this is so egregious. Is she mixing her up with someone else completely ??? I'm not sure if that's better or worse,' one wrote. 'I support 'new media' and influencers 'breaking through' but they are often just not the right choice and can't even pretend to be.' 'I don't think I've ever heard any Megan song about fighting in any way, this is just microaggressive at the very least and I know Hannah doesn't think there's anything wrong with what she said,' another wrote. A third person on X/Twitter added: 'Hannah Berner is so obnoxious omg. Why would she say Meg's music makes her want to fight??? Is she serious????'
