While the UK was buzzing with premiere fever, 'War 2' was also rewriting records in India. According to Koimoi, the film sold over 7.54 lakh tickets in advance for day one, grossing a massive ₹21 crore (excluding blocked seats).
This marks Bollywood's biggest opening-day pre-sales of 2025, dethroning 'Chhaava' (₹13.85 crore gross) with a staggering 51.62% higher figure. The surge in bookings was remarkable — leaping from ₹9.9 crore at 10 am the previous day to ₹21 crore by the final count, a 112.12% jump in less than 24 hours.
Position in the Spy Universe rankings
Within YRF's Spy Universe post-COVID releases, 'War 2' reportedly ranks just behind 'Pathaan' (₹32.01 crore gross) and 'Tiger 3' (₹23 crore gross) in opening-day pre-sales. This puts the Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR action spectacle ahead of most Bollywood biggies, securing the top spot for 2025 so far.
Meanwhile, 'War 2' is already receiving decent first reviews from viewers.
