Incredible ringside angles of Fabio Wardley's dramatic KO of Justis Huni as Frank Warren teases Oleksandr Usyk fight
INCREDIBLE ringside footage captured the moment Fabio Wardley dramatically knocked out Justis Huni to set up a world title shot. Wardley was down on all the judges scorecards and behind on the punch stats after ten rounds at Ipswich's Portman Road. 3 But the hometown hero produced the mother of all Hail Mary's to knock Huni out with a huge right hand. Ringside angles captured by Queensberry Promotions and DAZN revealed the brutal extent of Wardley's home run shot. The British heavyweight slipped to his left and his counter right produced a thudding sound - and down went Huni. Wardley, 30, walked away with his unbeaten record intact and a WBA interim title for his troubles. It puts him in line for the belt that Oleksandr Usyk defends on July 19 at Wembley against Daniel Dubois. Wardley's promoter Frank Warren told Boxing News: "No rush for anything, he's secured his position with the WBA. "A big fight's happening on the 19th of July at Wembley between Usyk and Daniel Dubois. "Whoever comes away with the four belts is going to have to start to make some mandatories and all the mandatory contenders are guys we work with. 3 "So they're going to be pretty easy fights to make." Wardley is on the verge of going from recruitment consultant-turned-white collar boxer to genuine world title contender. Callum Simpson credits late sister for inspiring comeback Ivan Zucco KO after being dropped eight seconds into fight But he said: "I don't profess to be any kind of Usyk or Justis Huni - someone with all the skills. "But one thing I do know is how to win fights, dig deep, find a bit of heart, bite down on the gumshield, find a way to win. "That's one thing I had to do tonight. I should have performed better in some of the rounds. "It's not always the way it goes. Sometimes you just need to find a different way to win. So look, we pulled something out of the bag." 3

Fighters raring to go after Wardley vs Huni weigh-ins
Fabio Wardley 's Ipswich homecoming became just a little bit more real this afternoon, with all the fighters involved in Saturday's card at Portman Road weighing in for their respective bouts. Wardley, 18-0-1 (17 KOs), came in at 234lb for his headlining bout against Justis Huni, who accepted the fight on six weeks' notice after Jarrell Miller dropped out. Huni has cut a cool figure in the build-up, with the Australian tipping the scales at 239lb. Speaking after being weighed, Huni, 12-0 (7), revealed how he was relishing his role as the away fighter, sharing: "I love it. I'm soaking it all up and embracing it, I can't wait for tomorrow night. Let's have some fun." The pressure is on for both fighters, with the WBA interim heavyweight championship up for grabs, but with most of the 25,000 in attendance expected to root for Wardley, the home fighter is arguably under bigger expectations. "It's getting there, this crowd here is giving me a taste of tomorrow night,' Wardley replied when asked if it was all starting to feel real. He added: 'No nerves, this is everything I asked for, and everything I've wanted the last few years. Tomorrow night is going to be huge. It's been a nice relaxed fight week. But don't worry, the switch will get flicked on the night." The chief support sees Liam Dillon, 15-2-1 (3), step up two weight classes to face favourite Pierce O'Leary,16-0 (9), for the WBC international silver and EBU European super lightweight titles. Dillon eased under the limit of his new weight class at 139.8lb, stating that he had coped well with the transition. He commented: "I feel a lot more comfortable,I've had the camp of my life. I'm used to being the underdog." WBC international silver champ O'Leary has one goal in mind – returning to his native Ireland with the European belt added to his collection. The Irishman, who weighed in at 139.5lb, shared: "The belt, it's always something that I wanted, and I'm finally getting the opposition now to fight for it. I want to bring back the belt to my homeland of Ireland." Another title fight sees 40-year-old Nelson Hysa, 22-0 (20), defend his WBO European heavyweight title against German challenger Patrick Korte, 22-4-1 (18). Hysa, who came in 16 pounds heavier than his opponent at 255lb, made clear his aims for the rest of his career. The Albanian began: "I waited too long for this time, and I've worked too much for this. I want to show why I am European champion, and I want to become the first world champion from Albanian. Patrick Korte is a good fighter, but I want to win with one beautiful knockout." Cruiserweights Mike Perez, 30-3-1 (21), and Steven Ward, 15-3 (5) go head-to-head for the WBA intercontinental strap. Both were well clear of the division's limit of 200lb, Perez at 198lb, Ward a 199-pounder. A bronze medallist at the last Olympic games, Lewis Richardson makes his debut on the undercard. Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni predictions: Boxing tips and odds
Our boxing tipster Dan Fitch has predictions for Saturday's fight between Fabio Wardley and Justis Huni at Portman Road, Ipswich (ring walks, 10pm). They include a knockout victory for Wardley in a bout that has the WBA interim heavyweight title on the line. Wardley vs Huni tips Fabio Wardley to win in rounds 7-12 @ 11/5 with talkSPORT BET Fabio Wardley, Mike Perez and Pierce O'Leary all to win @ 5/6 with talkSPORT BET Odds courtesy of talkSPORT BET correct at the time of publication and subject to change. Already a talkSPORT BET member? Check out more free bets from the best betting sites, reviewed by our experts. Wardley can inflict Huni's first defeat Both Fabio Wardley and Justis Huni have unbeaten records, but it is the Ipswich-born boxer who has the advantage of fighting on home turf and boasts an impressive record of stoppages. Of the 30-year-old's 19 fights, 17 have been won by KO. The only exceptions have been a points victory in his first contest back in 2017 and a draw in his first fight against Frazer Clarke, which he brutally avenged with a stunning first-round knockout victory in last year's rematch. Wardley was a latecomer to boxing, turning professional after just four white-collar fights. This lack of amateur pedigree was evident in the first meeting with Olympic medallist Clarke and Huni will be aiming to outbox the favourite and record a surprise points victory. The Australian only has two notable names on his 12-0 record in the form of Andrew Tabiti and Kevin Lerena. Both were small for heavyweights, having previously campaigned at cruiserweight. Lerena is at least a puncher and he had Huni's legs wobbling in the 10th round of their fight last year, but lacked the energy to finish off his opponent. If Wardley gets such a chance he will make no such mistake. His fast right hand can set up such opportunities and when he smells blood he is a deadly finisher, as he proved in that rematch against Clarke, when he broke his opponent's jaw. Huni may well have some early success and can win rounds, but eventually the home fighter will land cleanly. When that happens, I expect Wardley to be decisive and I am backing a stoppage win in the second half of the bout. Treble looks to be a banker The undercard to the main event features Mike Perez's cruiserweight contest against Steven Ward, with the Cuban a strong favourite to win, having campaigned at a much higher level during his long career. Pierce O'Leary is another fighter expected to have his hand raised, with the unbeaten Irishman facing Liam Dillon in a European super-lightweight title match. talkSPORT BET has boosted the odds of a treble on wins for Perez, O'Leary and Wardley to 5/6 and it looks to be something of a banker that offsets the risk taken with our first bet.
