Teen charged after 17-year-old stabbed on Saskatoon city bus
A 15-year-old girl faces multiple charges after a teen girl was stabbed on a Saskatoon city bus Wednesday night.
At around 10 p.m., officers were called to a stationary city bus at Wardlow Road and Appleby Drive for a report of an assault, the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said in a news release.
Arriving officers found a 17-year-old girl with non-life-threatening stab wounds and cuts. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say an altercation between two groups of teenage girls had occurred on the bus, resulting in the stabbing. The suspects fled the scene but one was later arrested nearby, found in possession of a knife and cannabis.
The 15-year-old suspect faces charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.
