NBA Sends Message to Draymond Green Amid Looming Suspension
It has been an eventful Game 2 for Draymond Green thus far, to say the least. The Golden State Warriors star was called for a technical foul in the second quarter of the game after hitting Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid with an elbow to the head. Advertisement This put Green in a precarious situation. That was Green's fifth technical foul of the postseason, which puts him just two more techs away from an automatic one-game suspension. On top of that, Green also has two flagrant points in the playoffs, which will lead to another one-game suspension if he gets hit with a Flagrant Foul 2 or two Flagrant 1s. The NBA reacted to the big news by sending the former Defensive Player of the Year a congratulatory message for moving to the No. 14 spot for the most assists in the postseason. Advertisement "Congrats to @Money23Green of the @warriors for moving into 14th on the all-time playoff ASSISTS list!" the NBA posted on X. It is worth noting that with this recent feat, Green is just 15 dimes behind the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan, for the 13th spot on the esteemed list. It's very much possible that Green surpasses the six-time NBA champ during this Timberwolves series, especially with Golden State's primary playmaker, Steph Curry, out injured. That is, of course, under the premise that Green is able to avoid getting sanctioned with an automatic suspension by the NBA. Anthony Edwards' Strong Comments on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Resurface Before West Finals
The stage is set for the Western Conference finals as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves battle in what should be an epic series. All eyes will be on the two superstars from each side as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards go toe-to-toe to prove which young stud is more capable of leading his team to the NBA finals. Advertisement Edwards, in particular, never lacks confidence. In fact, he firmly believes that he's a better player than Gilgeous-Alexander, which he did not hesitate to say in a previous interview with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. "I think that's dope because I think he's exactly right," Edwards responded when asked about LeBron James' comments about being the future of the league. "Me and Shai and Luka (Doncic) for sure." Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (5) and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2).Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images When asked straight up how he believes he measures up to Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic, Edwards made his thoughts abundantly clear. "I feel like I'm a better player, 100%," he told Smith. This interview happened way back in February 2024. So much has happened since then, and Edwards and Gilgeous-Alexander are potentially heading to their first NBA finals for a chance at winning their first career championship. Advertisement Edwards will now have an opportunity to prove that he can back up his big claim with Game 1 of the West finals scheduled for Tuesday night. Edwards has already achieved a lot in his young NBA career, but he will face arguably his biggest test in this series. It's time for him to step up to the plate. Warriors Named Favorites for $207 Million NBA Champion in Blockbuster Trade
Steph Curry needs help. This fact was made abundantly clear in the Golden State Warriors' 4-1 series loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The Warriors surprisingly took Game 1 in Minnesota, but they ended up losing four straight with Curry sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Advertisement It appears that the Warriors' front office is already bracing itself for what could be a very eventful offseason—one that could potentially involve the arrival of some reinforcements as this team looks to contend for a title again next season. One player who is currently being linked to a move away from his current team is 6-foot-10 forward Michael Porter Jr, who is currently under contract with the Denver Nuggets after signing a five-year max extension worth at least $173 million back in 2021. Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. (1) before the game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images The Nuggets also suffered a second-round exit this year, and there has been talk of a potential roster shake-up in Denver as well. Porter Jr. is one of the names who have popped up as potential trade candidates in the offseason. Advertisement Should he hit the trade market, Porter Jr. will have no shortage of suitors around the NBA. The good news for Warriors fans is that well-known online sportsbook Bovada has named their team as the favorites to land the former Missouri star this summer. As the above post indicates, the Warriors currently have the best odds to secure the services of Porter Jr. at +300. The Chicago Bulls (+400) and the Los Angeles Lakers (+600) round out the top 3 in what is looking like a tight race for the 26-year-old stud. It is worth noting, however, that Porter Jr. remains a key figure in Denver's current roster. They will likely ask for a lot in return for him should the Nuggets decide to place him on the trade block. Advertisement At this point, it remains to be seen if the Warriors are in possession of the necessary assets to make a blockbuster trade deal work, and more importantly, if they are willing to potentially meet the Nuggets' asking price for Porter Jr. Related: Draymond Green Makes Bold Prediction About Jonathan Kuminga's Warriors Future Related: Steve Kerr Had Words for Anthony Edwards After Warriors-Timberwolves Series

Steph Curry Comments on Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler's Future With Warriors
Steph Curry was not exactly in a jovial mood during Thursday's exit interview. The Golden State Warriors faced the press less than 24 hours after they had been eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA playoffs, and it was quite understandable that there was a dark cloud hovering over the press conference. Advertisement Curry was asked about his future with the Warriors now that he is entering the final two years of his contract. The same is also the case for Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler, whose current deals also come to an end in 2027. "So yeah, our contracts are all me, Draymond, Steve (Kerr), Jimmy, all two years," Curry said. "And we want this ride to last as long as possible, but it's just about like, what does this team need for next year? Advertisement "So that's all I'm really focused on right now." Neither Green nor Butler was able to step it up in the Timberwolves series amid Curry's absence. There was a lot of finger-pointing as Golden State suffered four straight losses against Minnesota following their unexpected victory in Game 1. More than a few fans were quick to assign the blame to both Green and Butler for their shortcomings. Some supporters wanted both of them out of the squad next season. For Curry, though, it appears clear that he has included both Green and Butler in his two-year vision for Golden State. As he said, it's now all about putting in the work in the offseason with the objective of getting back on track for 2025-26. Advertisement What happens beyond the two years this trio has left on their respective contracts, however, is anybody's guess at this point. Shaquille O'Neal Makes Bold Steph Curry Statement After Warriors' Season-Ending Loss
The Golden State Warriors had some hope that Steph Curry would have been able to return from his hamstring injury in time for their Game 6 matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unfortunately for them, Curry and the Warriors will not have the opportunity to do so after the Wolves closed out the series on Wednesday night via a 121-110 win at Target Center. Advertisement After winning the series, 4-1, Minnesota is now headed to the Western Conference Finals for a second consecutive season, where they will face the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder-Denver Nuggets series. Shaquille O'Neal shared his thoughts on the series shortly after Golden State's season-ending loss. According to the Hall of Fame big man, it's very much possible that it's the Warriors who would have came out on top of this series if only Curry didn't suffer that hamstring injury. Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) stands on the court during a break in the action against the Edmondson-Imagn Images "Steph is the one dynamic player that can take over a game," O'Neal said. "He hasn't really been Steph this whole playoffs. Advertisement "... If he's healthy, he can give you one of those games with 30, 40, 50 (points), and it could change the series. So to answer your question, I think if he was healthy, they definitely could have won the series." The Warriors lost Curry in Game 1 after the former back-to-back MVP suffered a non-contact injury. He was later diagnosed with a hamstring strain, and ended up missing the rest of the series. Golden State was still able to pull off an unexpected win in Game 1 in Minnesota despite Curry's early exit. The Wolves, however, ended up winning the next four games with the 11-time All-Star watching from the bench. Advertisement Whatever the case might be, all this is nothing more than hypothetical talk right now. The fact of the matter is that Curry and the Warriors are now headed for an early summer vacation after an ultimately disappointing end to their campaign.
