Injured person rescued from woods on Gale Road in Warwick
WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – An injured individual was rescued from the woods near Gale Road in Warwick Wednesday afternoon. Chicopee woman charged with arson following Belcher Street fire The Warwick Fire Department shared in a social media post that crews were called to a report of an injured person approximately a half mile into the woods on Gale Road Wednesday afternoon. A UTV with the Orange Fire Department was requested to assist with the incident. Emergency crews worked together to remove the individual from the woods, who was then brought to the hospital by the Orange Fire Department to be treated. Passenger airlifted by LifeFlight after serious Warwick crash
WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) -A serious motor vehicle crash on Winchester Road in Warwick led to the extrication of a passenger, and LifeFlight. Warwick Fire Department members successfully used newly acquired Jaws of Life tools for the first time Friday evening, while responding to a serious motor vehicle crash on Winchester Road (Route 78) near Flower Hill Road. According to Warwick Fire, upon arrival, firefighters found significant damage to the driver's side A/B corner and discovered a passenger still trapped inside. Thanks to the department's recently obtained Jaws of Life, crews were able to swiftly cut both driver-side doors, allowing for the extrication of the injured individual. Orange Fire Department assisted, and the patient was subsequently airlifted via LifeFlight to a trauma center. The patient's current condition is unknown at this time. Officials praised the effectiveness of the grant-funded equipment, noting that it enabled them to deliver rapid, life-saving aid directly at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Driver escapes unharmed in single-car crash in Warwick
WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – A driver walked away with minimal injuries following a single-car crash on Athol Road Wednesday afternoon. According to the Warwick Fire Department, Engine 2 was called to Athol Road Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle veered off course. Emergency crews arrived to find the car heavily damaged but the driver was conscious and alert. Officials say the vehicle's safety features played a critical role in preventing serious harm, including functioning airbags and the driver's use of a seat belt. The driver, whose identity has not been released, was cited for a marked lanes violation and for texting while driving. No other vehicles were involved, and the crash did not result in any road closures.
