Pueblo landfill offers 50% discount on trash disposal
(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The City of Pueblo and Waste Connections Southside Landfill are teaming up for a 50% discount on loads for Pueblo citizens through June 14.
City residents must provide a valid photo ID listing an address within city limits, or residents can provide other identification with a current bill to receive discounts. Accepted waste includes trash, yard trimmings, mattresses, or box springs.
Appliances, electronics, liquids, paint, tires, and hazardous waste such as poisons, cleaners, oil, toxins, or asbestos won't be accepted. Construction, demolition, or roofing material will also not be accepted. The offer is not available for businesses.
'If our residents missed the Team Up to Clean Up free dump day event on Saturday, May 31, there is still time to finish your spring cleaning and receive a discount for dumping your trash,' said Director of Public Works Andrew Hayes. 'This twice-annual offering allows for residents to dump a truck or carload of trash at a 50% discounted rate.'
To receive the discount, all loads must be covered. Uncovered loads will be charged double the gate rate. Only credit and debit cards are accepted.
Southside Landfill is located west of Pueblo Boulevard and Northern Avenue, at 5715 West State Highway. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
