PH Navy opens reservists' exercise in Northern Luzon
An exercise for Philippine Navy reservists was launched in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur to prepare them for the evolving maritime security threats and challenges, the Northern Luzon Naval Command (NLNC) said.
In a statement on Sunday, the NLNC said the opening ceremony was held at the Vigan Convention Center over the weekend.
A total of 135 Philippine Navy reservists from Northern Luzon are expected to join a wide range of field training exercises at sea and on land.
They will also participate in specialized training discussions on various topics related to naval warfare to be led by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Among the key activities in the reservists' exercise are the following:
Naval Tactics
Maneuvers at Sea
Maritime Patrols
Shipboard Evolutions
Land Navigation
Immediate Action Drills (IAD)
Tactical Combat Casualty Car
Marksmanship Training
Water Search and Rescue (WASAR)
Incident Command System
'This exercise underscores NLNC's steadfast commitment to developing a well-prepared, agile, and dependable Reserve Force, aligned with the overall mission of the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines,' the Command said.
The opening ceremony in Vigan City was attended by Ilocos Sur Vice Governor Ryan Luis Singson, who is also a Philippine Navy reservist with the rank of Lieutenant Commander and the designated Commander of 112th Naval Squadron Reserve. —KG, GMA Integrated News
