Country Music Hall of Fame Makes Huge Lainey Wilson Announcement

Country Music Hall of Fame Makes Huge Lainey Wilson Announcement originally appeared on Parade. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum made a huge announcement for fans on Tuesday, June 17. Wilson, 33, the sassy songstress behind such hits as "Things a Man Oughta Know," "Heart Like a Truck," "Watermelon Moonshine" and "Wildflowers and Wild Horses," is getting her very own exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails will trace Wilson's story "from her upbringing on her family's farm in Baskin, Louisiana, to her rise to global fame," according to the press release. The exhibit opens on July 18 and will run until June press release continues, "Wilson grew up in Baskin, Louisiana…riding horses and four-wheelers and swimming in nearby Big Creek with her older sister. Wilson envisioned a career as a country artist and started working to make it happen from a young age — singing publicly for the first time at her kindergarten graduation and writing songs for fun by the time she was 10. As a teenager, she learned how to handle herself in front of audiences through performances, pageants and local talent competitions. "In 2011, Wilson moved to Nashville. Her one connection to the country music business was Jerry Cupit, a family friend from Franklin Parish who became her producer, a songwriting partner and a mentor. His death in 2014 left Wilson's future in Nashville uncertain, but she refused to give up. In 2015, she met Mandelyn Monchick, who advocated for Wilson as a friend before officially becoming her manager and introduced Wilson to Aslan Freeman, now her bandleader." The exhibit will include stage wear, instruments, photographs, childhood memorabilia and more. Examples of items to be displayed include: The first tooled leather saddle Wilson used as a child. The Montana Silversmiths custom-made silver and gold belt buckle — engraved with the brand of her family's farm in Baskin, Louisiana, and ornamented with rhinestones — that Wilson wore to the Country Music Association Awards in 2022. A Go Vicki! fringed jacket belonging to Wilson's mother, which Wilson wore when she performed at Saddlebags, a country music venue in Savannah, Georgia, on February 9, 2018. A Wrangler trench coat, denim vest and jeans — all embellished with rhinestones — and the Charlie 1 Horse by Lainey Wilson hat she wore during her halftime performance at the NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. The floral-pattern shirt, Cat O' Nine studded bell bottoms and rhinestone-embellished Kippys belt Wilson wore during her debut performance on the Grand Ole Opry, February 14, 2020. 'This exhibit will examine the seeds of her career, including the requisite talent, hard work and ingenuity throughout her ten-year journey in Nashville that fueled her emergence as a globally popular and beloved artist. As her career has flourished, she continues to reflect these roots and core values in her music and life.' 'It's a dream come true to have my own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and such an incredible honor to be included next to so many of my heroes and legendary artists,' added Wilson. 'Yellowstone' star Lainey Wilson 'completely shocked' by fiancé's proposal

Lainey Wilson has found her match. While speaking with Fox News Digital on the red carpet at the ACM Awards, the "Watermelon Moonshine" singer gushed about her fiancé, Devlin "Duck" Hodges, saying she was "completely shocked" when he proposed. "Completely shocked, but very excited that I've found me a man that's just easygoing," she said. "He is my biggest fan. He high-fives me on the way in the door and he high-fives me on the way out and that's all I can ask for." The 32-year-old country music star announced her engagement to Hodges on Instagram in February 2025, sharing photos of her and her man in the moments after he got down on one knee. Wilson and Hodges, a former NFL quarterback, made their relationship known to the public in May 2023 when they walked the red carpet together at the ACM Awards. She later admitted that they had been dating for two and a half years before making their public debut. He is my biggest fan. He high-fives me on the way in the door and he high-fives me on the way out and that's all I can ask for. In a video captured by News Channel 5 Nashville, Wilson can be heard saying she had a feeling he was going to propose but changed her mind after thinking, "Man, I sure would be upset if I talked myself into this and that don't happen." On the day of the proposal, the two had been planning to visit the George Jones estate. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect." The singer made her acting debut in the season five premiere of "Yellowstone," in November 2022, playing Abby, a musician who begins a relationship with Ryan, one of the hands at Dutton Ranch. Wilson is now set to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel, "Reminders of Him," telling Fox News Digital she is "excited" to step outside of her comfort zone in the movie. "I'm getting to play a character that I've never done anything specifically like this," she explained. "I'm not a musician, which is fun and kind of pushing the boundaries, so we'll see what happens." Her career in country music began over 13 years ago when she moved to Nashville from her small town in Louisiana. After years of hard work, Wilson broke out into the music industry with the release of her hit single, "Things a Man Oughta Know," which reached No. 1 on Billboard Country Airplay chart. "I truly do think it is from being from a long line of farmers. I mean, on my mom's side and my daddy's side. They rolled their sleeves up. They got to work every single day and had good years and bad years, but at the end of the day, they loved it," she said. Her hard work paid off, as she recently took home the entertainer of the year and female artist of the year awards at the ACM Awards for the second year in a row.

Lainey Wilson spills details of intimate proposal, eyes 'very simple' wedding

Lainey Wilson spilled the details of how Devlin "Duck" Hodges asked her to marry him. Hodges proposed in February and Wilson shared the moment on Instagram, writing, "4x4xU forever." Now, the country music star has revealed she truly was surprised by the former NFL quarterback's proposal. "So, I had talked myself into thinking he was going to do it that day," Wilson said, captured on video by News Channel 5 Nashville. "And then I called my sister, I said, 'He's going to propose to me today.' And she was like, 'I gotta go.'" "And then I talked myself out of it because I thought, 'Man, I sure would be upset if I talked myself into this and that don't happen,'" she added. Hodges and Wilson had been planning to visit the George Jones estate, which had been listed by one of Hodges' friends, who is a real estate agent. The two made a plan to stop by during the week after this year's Super Bowl. "And then as we [pulled] up, I realized that there were different plans," Wilson explained. "So, he had it all set up. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect." Wilson admitted she hasn't done much wedding planning since the proposal. "We really need to sit down and make that a priority," she explained. "But I'm sure that it'll be something that's just very, very simple, you know?" Months before their proposal, Wilson joked she might have to get down on one knee after Bunnie Xo said she hoped Wilson and Hodges get engaged in 2025. "No pressure, brother! No pressure," Wilson told Bunnie, who was interviewing the "Watermelon Moonshine" singer for CMT. "I might have to propose to him. We waiting!" "No, Duck's gonna do it. I could feel it," Bunnie noted. "I like that," Wilson added. Wilson seemingly always knew Hodges was the one for her and revealed she actually sent her now-fiancé engagement ring choices four years ago. "Honestly, as a joke, right when we first started dating, because we knew pretty much immediately, we were like, 'Okay, we're gonna be in each other's lives.' It just felt that natural. And as a joke, I had texted him some big rings, being like this is what I like. He was like, 'Oh, Lord. I better start saving now,'" she recalled in the video captured by News Channel 5 Nashville. "We've been together for four years. What he did is he went in and designed it and kind of put some of those rings together that I sent him. So I'd have said yes, if it was a tiny little thing. But he messed up," she joked. Wilson and Hodges debuted their relationship in 2023. She later revealed they had been dating for two and a half years before they walked the red carpet together. "It's really cool to be able to start sharing that side of my life," Wilson said during an appearance on the "Taste of Country Nights, On Demand" radio show. "'Cause for a long time, I kept him on the [down low]. I wanted to see if he was actually gonna be around to stay. You know what I'm saying?" It looks like Hodges passed the test, and now has a front-row seat to Wilson's career. "I play all my songs for him before I play 'em for anybody," the singer-songwriter told Bobby Bones on his radio show. "So he's heard a little bit of everything. And he's heard a lot of love songs that I've written him that nobody else will hear." Hodges and Wilson began dating in 2021 after being introduced through mutual friends. "We went to this old place called Silverados, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10 p.m.," the musician told People magazine. "I was like, 'This boy likes to ball on a budget too. This is gonna work out.'" Before making their red carpet debut, Wilson sparked speculation of their romance by wearing Hodges' Pittsburgh Steelers jersey while performing in Pittsburgh. "He's one of my biggest cheerleaders," Wilson told Fox News Digital at the 2024 CMT Awards. "I always say that he's the kind of dude that will high-five you on the way in the door and high-five you on the way out." "Especially with the kind of job that I have. It's important to have those kind[s] of people in your life. So I'm very thankful that he's here with me." "He knows what it's like chasing a dream because he's done that for himself," Wilson said during her appearance on "The Bobby Bones Show." "He was in the NFL. He tried out literally for the Steelers and made it and had a really great run with them. Went out to L.A. Rams and did that." The former NFL star currently works for Myers Cobb Realtors, based in Tennessee.
