IBM and The Hindu launch 'AI@Work' to accelerate enterprise

In a significant push toward digital transformation, The Hindu Group, in collaboration with IBM, has launched AI@Work – Shaping the Future of Business with AI, a year-long initiative designed to spotlight the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in reshaping Indian industries. The initiative positions AI not as an emerging technology but as a core enabler of innovation, efficiency, and sectoral reinvention. Focusing on Manufacturing and Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), AI@Work will present real-world examples of AI-driven change and explore the transition from '+AI' – where AI is added to legacy systems – to 'AI+', where AI is embedded into the heart of business processes. 'Data is your most powerful asset, but only when harnessed effectively,' said Tuhina Pandey, Director – APAC Communications & CMO, India and South Asia, IBM. 'With 99% of enterprise data untouched by AI, there's a massive opportunity for Indian businesses to unlock value, especially through unstructured data. Our partnership with The Hindu aims to turn this untapped potential into real-world progress.' A key highlight of the campaign is the use of IBM's advanced AI and data platform, WatsonX, which has already been deployed internally at IBM to improve efficiency and redirect cost savings into innovation. As 'Client Zero,' IBM not only advocates for but actively demonstrates responsible, scalable AI adoption. AI@Work will roll out through a dynamic content series comprising expert roundtables, panel discussions, and sector-specific company profiles. The initiative will delve deep into how AI is influencing decision-making, transforming workflows, and reshaping leadership approaches across enterprises. The campaign will culminate in a comprehensive e-book featuring actionable insights, strategic frameworks, and sector-specific roadmaps for Indian enterprises looking to scale AI adoption responsibly. Suresh Balakrishna, Chief Revenue Officer, The Hindu Group, emphasized, 'This initiative uniquely merges The Hindu's editorial integrity with IBM's technological leadership. It will foster industry-centric dialogue on AI's role in shaping India's business and social landscape.'

The Hindu, IBM unveil ‘AI@Work' to explore impact of AI across industries

The Hindu Group, in partnership with IBM, has launched AI@Work – Shaping the Future of Business with AI, a year-long initiative that explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a frontier technology but a foundational force powering transformation across Indian enterprises. From driving efficiency and innovation to redefining sectoral strategies, AI is rapidly reshaping the way businesses operate. As companies across sectors shift from experimentation to enterprise-wide AI adoption, AI@Work will surface real-world narratives of transformation with a sharp focus on Manufacturing and Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI). The series will unpack how business models, workflows, and decision-making are being reimagined through AI; explore the shift from '+AI,' where AI is added to existing systems, to 'AI+,' where it is embedded into the very DNA of operations; and examine what it takes to scale AI responsibly and successfully. 'Data is your most powerful asset but only when it's harnessed. With 99% of enterprise data untouched by AI, the opportunity to unlock business value is immense,' said Tuhina Pandey, Director – APAC Communications & CMO, India and South Asia, IBM. 'The power of data lies in unstructured data that is untapped by businesses. Through our collaboration with The Hindu, we're helping Indian enterprises turn this potential into progress with practical AI applications, responsible use of AI, and industry-specific strategies that can scale, propelling the vision of a Viksit Bharat.' The initiative will also spotlight how IBM's AI and data platform, WatsonX, is powering responsible and scalable AI adoption. As 'Client Zero,' IBM has deployed WatsonX across its own operations to drive efficiencies and reduce costs—redirecting these savings into innovation. This positions IBM as both a practitioner and enabler of the AI+ approach. AI@Work – A Platform for Insight, Dialogue, and Action will take a deep dive into the Manufacturing and BFSI sectors through a robust content series featuring expert, sector-specific perspectives. Through video-led panel discussions, expert roundtables, and company profiles, AI@Work will bring together technologists, CXOs, and domain experts to exchange ideas on what's working, what's next, and what's essential. The series will highlight not just stories of technology adoption, but also of organisational redesign, leadership mindset shifts, and cross-functional alignment enabled by AI. The campaign will culminate in a comprehensive e-book compendium, curating insights, strategies, and sectoral roadmaps that organisations can act on. With the first leg launching this month, AI@Work invites India's business leaders, changemakers, and innovators to be part of the conversation—to explore how AI can be adopted not just boldly, but wisely. Suresh Balakrishna, Chief Revenue Officer, The Hindu Group, said, 'This initiative is a unique convergence of editorial credibility and technological depth. Our partnership with IBM will facilitate industry-relevant conversations on technology's role in business and society and drive meaningful engagement.'

Why Wedbush Loves IBM Again

Wedbush keeps an Outperform on IBM (NYSE:IBM) and ups its price target to $325, banking on the company's expanding AI and hybrid-cloud franchises to drive a renewed growth led by Daniel Ives say recent field checks confirm IBM is emerging as one of the AI Revolution's early winners, thanks to a GenAI book of business north of $6 billion and a developer-driven ecosystem that fuels rapid innovation. Three-quarters of AI workloads are expected to run on containers by 2027, and IBM's combination of WatsonX AI agents, Red Hat OpenShift and hybrid-cloud tooling positions it to capture a lion's share of that shift. Beyond software, IBM is charting a course toward large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing, with its Quantum Nighthawk chip due later this year and the broader Quantum Starling platform slated for later this decade. Wedbush argues these moves not only reinforce IBM's AI leadership but also underscore its capacity to layer in new revenue streamsfrom premium GenAI services to next-gen quantum use casesover the coming a strong run in 2025, IBM still trades at valuations that understate its AI and quantum potential, Wedbush contends. As enterprises pour more workloads into hybrid-cloud and AI environments, vendors with end-to-end platformsspanning infrastructure, software, AI and quantumstand to generate outsized profits. IBM's deep enterprise relationships and broad product suite give it a rare runway to monetize both near-term AI demand and longer-term quantum opportunities. This article first appeared on GuruFocus.
