30 days until Saints season opener: Every player to wear No. 30
From Wayne Wilson to Lynell Hamilton and Fred McAfee The NFL regular season for the New Orleans Saints begins just one month from today. New Orleans will host the Arizona Cardinals to begin their year, it's first under new head coach Kellen Moore. Rookie running back Devin Neal is wearing No. 30 for the Saints at the moment. A sixth round choice, Neal is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury. However, he has the upside to bolster the New Orleans offense. If he does, he'd be one of the very few that would have made a contribution in a No. 30 jersey for the franchise. Here's a look through all 22 previous players that have worn the number for New Orleans. Saints' History of No. 30 Les Kelley was not only the first to ever wear No. 30 for the Saints, he was also the first player drafted in franchise history. New Orleans held the 1st overall choice in the 1967 NFL draft, their first year of existence, but traded it to the Baltimore Colts for quarterback Gary Cuozzo. With the last selection in that first round, the 26th overall choice, the Saints picked Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Kelley. He'd play three years with New Orleans, his only in the NFL, suiting up in 30 games with 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries. Bob Shaw was the first offensive player to wear No. 31 as a Saint, but played in only four games and recorded 1 catch. After Billy Harris played one game in 1971, the Saints drafted cornerback Ernie Jackson with a Round 7 choice the following season. Jackson stuck with New Orleans for six years and 62 games, the second longest stint for any player who wore the 31 jersey. Over that span, Jackson recorded 15 interceptions and recovered 8 fumbles, returning one for a score. He currently ranks eighth in team history for career interceptions. A 12th round draft choice that was cut as a rookie in 1979 by the Houston Oilers, Wayne Wilson was picked up by the Saints and would have an extremely underrated career. Wilson was a versatile chess piece with the Saints for eight years and 102 contests, the most by any player to wear No. 30. He had 2,462 yards on the ground as often either a fullback or backup tailback, adding 179 receptions for another 1,517 yards and accounting for 19 total touchdowns. The first and one of only two NFL players to ever be drafted out of Shepherd College, Wilson is an underrated member of New Orleans history. In the 38 years since Wayne Wilson was a Saint, 17 players have worn No. 30. Only one has worn it for longer than two years, with 14 of them wearing it for less than a complete season. In all, 16 of the 22 previous players who wore 30 did so for a year or less, with only four wearing it for even as long as three seasons. Anthony Newman was the last player to wear No. 30 for more than two years, doing it for three seasons and 40 games with 6 interceptions. Je'Rod Cherry and Lynell Hamilton were the last two to wear the 30 jersey into a second year. Cherry, a Round 2 pick in 1996, wore two different numbers during a four-year stint with the franchise. Hamilton was a backup running back for two seasons and a total of 10 games. Since him, 10 different players have worn the 30 jersey for New Orleans. Only Justin Evans in 2022 (15 games) played more than five games during their tenure with the club. Chad Morton was only a Saint during the 2000 campaign. However, Morton was extremely effective as a backup running back and standout kick returner for New Orleans. Fred McAfee forged a 10-year career in New Orleans that wound up with a 2022 induction into the Saints Hall of Fame. McAfee was a backup running back and elite special teamer for the Saints. However, he also wore three different numbers over his tenure. He'd only wear No. 30 in 2006 for four games, his last season in the NFL. Can rookie Devin Neal bring some prestige to the No. 30? Only time will tell, but Neal will also be sidelined for most of this preseason with a hamstring injury.

Pier dominates in Wayne Wilson to highlight Stradbroke Handicap missed opportunity
Exciting Kiwi galloper Pier was stranded two spots outside the Group 1 Stradbroke field, but his trainer Darryn Weatherley felt he could have given the race a mighty shake. And on the evidence of the gelding's thumping win when scoring the consolation prize of the Listed Wayne Wilson (1600m) at Eagle Farm, it was hard to disagree. Had five-year-old Pier nailed a Stradbroke start, he would have carried just 51kg. Racenet iQ members get full access to our Pro Tips service, where Greg and our team of professional punters provide daily tips with fully transparent return on investment statistics. SUBSCRIBE NOW and start punting like a pro! Pier's hopes of gaining a slot in the Stradbroke always appeared forlorn, fourth emergency and still two off the field even after there were a pair of scratchings. But punters didn't miss him in the Wayne Wilson, backing him strongly from $3.10 to $2.60 and he didn't let them down as he thumped his opposition by three lengths. Pier's racing journey hasn't been straightforward, from the exhilarating moment of winning the Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas in 2022, to devastating lows of many injury setbacks. Leading Australian owner Ozzie Kheir looks to have another nice horse on his hands. 'I truly believe he would have been a force to be reckoned with in the Straddie, but maybe next year,' Weatherley, who trains in partnership with his daughter Briar, said. 'I would like to spell him here for a month then have a crack at the first Group 1 in New Zealand and the hopefully to Melbourne in the spring.' Pier had warmed up for Saturday's assignment with a flashing light run in the Group 3 BRC Sprint when flashing home from last to finish third. 'Last start he ran a blinder, but he drew a lot more favourably today,' jockey Ethan Brown said. 'It is a bloody long straight but I was on a well prepared, fit horse who carried me through.' In the opening race on Stradbroke day, the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1600m), Michael Freedman's three-year-old filly Just Feelin' Lucky ($5) led them a merry dance. The young daughter of US champion Justify wasn't for catching and justified Freedman's decision to give her a shot at a valuable Group race. The filly cost just $80,000 as a yearling but is now worth much more than that and put two wins on the bounce after scoring a midweek race in Sydney at her previous start. 'These Justifys are free-rolling and I had a good chat to Tommy Berry before the race and the idea was to dictate the race from the front and it ended up perfect,' Freedman said. 'It is getting to the back end of the racing season, she's going to turn four pretty soon, so we thought we'd go and have a crack at some black type. 'She's quite a valuable filly now.' ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Floozie lives up to Gollan's wraps Tony Gollan might be turning into Nostradamus as he had a Group 1 prophecy with exciting mare Floozie which is now another step closer to being fulfilled. Queensland's champion trainer has this winter carnival been telling anyone who will listen that Floozie is a star. After her stylish win in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday, she will now be deployed in the Group 1 Tatt's Tiara in a fortnight. Floozie, a four-year-old daughter of Zoustar, was formerly trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr in Victoria and now hasn't been beaten in four starts since arriving at Gollan's Eagle Farm stables. She won some modest Benchmark races at the start of her campaign, but wins in the Silk Stocking and now the Dane Ripper have showcased the talent that Gollan always knew she had. The Group 2 triumph was also the biggest win of young jockey Angela Jones' career and she rode the mare a treat. Gollan is now heading overseas to Royal Ascot, but will have a tantalising treat to come back to as he unleashes Floozie in the Group 1 Tatt's Tiara for fillies and mares at Eagle Farm in a fortnight. 'She is a really good mare this,' Gollan said. 'I said when she won a Benchmark 70 four starts ago that this mare would take part in the winter carnival. 'That's exactly what she is doing. 'Onwards to the Tiara in a fortnight now and I can't wait. 'This mare is going to give that race a hell of a shake and when mares are in form, they can do anything. 'She won on a heavy track on the Gold Coast the other day and it was a firm track here today so she goes good on all surfaces.' Floozie was strongly backed from $6 to $4.60 in the Dane Ripper and her backers barely raised a sweat with Jones having her perfectly positioned before she zoomed for home. 'It is just incredible for this mare to string four together at a tough time of the carnival,' Jones said. 'She is just brilliant. She is a jockey's dream. 'You can just put her where you want her.'

SynergenX Health Champions Men's Hormone Health for Men's Health Month
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June is Men's Health Month, and SynergenX is spotlighting the critical yet often overlooked role of hormone health in men's overall well-being. With symptoms of low testosterone (Low T) affecting millions of men, including fatigue, irritability, weight gain, and reduced libido, SynergenX is leading the charge to educate men and offer real solutions through medically supervised testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). 'Too often, men normalize feeling drained or disconnected, without realizing a hormonal imbalance may be at the root of it,' said Wayne Wilson, CEO and Founder of SynergenX Health. 'We want to help men understand that regaining energy, mental clarity, and drive is not only possible—it's within reach. And it's an important part of maintaining their health and quality of life.' Recent studies show testosterone levels in men are declining at a faster rate than ever before, but the public conversation around hormone health still lags behind. SynergenX is working to change that through its evidence-based, personalized approach to treatment. Each patient begins with comprehensive lab work and is guided by hormone health experts through a safe, physician-led TRT plan, along with access to additional services like weight loss support and vitamin therapy. All throughout Men's Health Month and until July 31st, 2025, SynergenX is offering a special campaign: men can get a medical consultation and have their testosterone levels tested for free in any SynergenX or Low T Center clinic. The initiative is designed to break down barriers and empower more men to take that first step toward feeling like themselves again. 'This campaign is about accessibility and action,' added Wilson. 'We want every man to know he deserves to feel strong, energized, and in control of his health.' Men experiencing symptoms of Low T—or simply curious about their hormone health—are encouraged to take advantage of SynergenX's free testosterone test.
