Green hands, growing hearts: Isa Town joins tree-planting drive
With saplings in hand and smiles on their faces, children, families, and diplomats joined Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen along Isa Town's rubber walkway to launch the campaign 'We Plant It with Our Hands', in collaboration with the Southern Municipality.
Residents of the Southern Governorate's second constituency turned out in force, creating a lively, neighbourly atmosphere. Children dashed about, neighbours paused to chat, and saplings passed from hand to hand.
Ambassadors praised the spirit of community and the grassroots effort to nurture public spaces, highlighting the value of citizen-led environmental care.
Young visitors were treated to games, stories, and a special corner explaining the importance of trees in everyday life — blending fun with thoughtful learning.
Dr. Al Dhaen expressed her delight at the strong turnout, noting that tree planting enhances public health and brings balance to urban living. She emphasised that the campaign rests on a simple belief: small actions, when taken up by ordinary people, can have a powerful impact.
She thanked the Southern Municipality for its essential support and stressed that the initiative aligns with Bahrain's broader vision of community engagement in improving local environments. Dr. Al Dhaen also voiced her hope that similar efforts will take root across more neighbourhoods.
