UPrep to host annual mental health fair
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC ) – UPrep High School will be hosting its annual Mental Health & Wellness Fair Saturday and it's open to community members, students, and families. The fair is taking place at UPrep on 1290 Lake Avenue near Seneca Parkway from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The fair is free to attend and it'll feature mental health and wellness resources in the Rochester community, food, and fun for families to take part in. 'At UPrep, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health,' Jamaal Peavy, Director of Student, Family, Community Support & Engagement, said. 'This event is an opportunity for our community to come together, learn from experts, and embrace wellness in all its forms.' ‘Chill out' at EDP's Winter Carnival this weekend
Although it's still chilly outside, it's the perfect weather for the Erie Downtown Partnership's annual Winter Carnival. The Winter Carnival kicks off Thursday at 4 p.m. and runs through Sunday. Mercyhurst University hosts Wellness Fair to promote self care, prioritize mental health There's expected to be plenty of local vendors, live music and even fire dancing as well as live professional ice carving by Dimartino Ice. There will be more than 60 ice sculptures throughout Perry Square. Penn State Behrend hosts 10th annual STEAM Fair 'Erie is a four-season city and we really wanted to create events that embrace these seasons and the winter carnival is one of our most popular events now. I think giving people something to do during the winter, you'll see that if there's activities and engagement, people will come out and enjoy their public spaces year-round,' said Dave TAmulonis, events and marketing manager for the Erie Downtown Partnership. Mercyhurst University hosts Wellness Fair to promote self care, prioritize mental health
Students of a local university are being informed about mental health services that are available in the community. A Wellness Fair took place at Mercyhurst University featuring a variety of interactive booths and activities that promoted physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Penn State Behrend hosts 10th annual STEAM Fair The fair this year included 20 resources with ten being off-campus in the Erie community. Sue Sweeney, the director of campus health and wellbeing considers the Wellness Fair to be timely with the winter. Dozens gather outside Blessed Sacrament School to protest closure 'We do it in the winter we think it's a good time to get people out and about because we know we all love Erie, Pennsylvania but it is been a long winter. So, getting people out and getting them involved and also maybe meeting some new people is kind of a good way to break up the monotony,' said Sweeney.
