Swim shorts launches: Sheep Inc, David Gandy Wellwear make waves

It's a busy period in the summer swim shorts space with Sheep Inc and David Gandy Wellwear launching for the season. For the man who made white swim shorts very well known as a former model, David Candy is now launching his own. The 'Iconic White Swim Short' is a new limited edition item from his Wellwear brand 'strik[ing] the perfect balance between tailored elegance and 'accidentally just stepped off my boat' charm'. The opaque all-white short, priced £95, comes in a matte finish with navy piping and a refined drawstring detail. 'Offering just enough coverage to keep things classy' the shorts feature one of Wellwear's signature fabric treatments, Wellwear Protect. And debuting in the 'swimwear, reimagined' category, Sheep Inc, the natural fibre specialists and pioneer of carbon-negative design, is presenting another of its breakthroughs: The Merino Swimshorts. Made entirely from fully traceable natural fibres, engineered for performance and 'built to return to the earth', it's created from Reda Active 100% ZQ-certified Merino wool, with a Yarnaway biodegradable lining 'that leaves no trace, no microplastics, and no compromises'. Sheep Inc co-founder Edzard van Der Wick said: 'These swimshorts are a material rethink. We wanted to prove that swimwear didn't have to be plastic to perform. So we worked with the best natural materials on Earth, and the best people who knew how to shape them.'
