Edinburgh police investigating as car involved in crash on busy road 'drives off'
Police are probing a crash on a busy Edinburgh Road as a driver involved claims the car he struck 'drove off'.
Emergency services attended the scene on West Approach Road at around 5.40pm on Saturday, August 9.
Images from the scene show the front end of an estate car badly damaged, with a fire and rescue appliances also called to assist. A police SUV can be seen parked behind the crashed vehicle.

According to one of the drivers involved, the second vehicle 'drove off from the scene' after allegedly performing a U-turn on the road.
Police say they were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.40pm on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on West Approach, Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing."
