UAE launches new AI plans to make government services quicker
The United Arab Emirates is set to integrate artificial intelligence into government plans ahead of 2031. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, revealed that AI will be used in the new strategic planning cycle for the federal government for 2031. The plans prioritise AI in government planning, process simplification, resource optimisation and financial efficiency. This focus should mean that processes are streamlined and resources are managed more intelligently. Sheikh Mohammed has instructed teams across ministries and the federal government to begin developing strategies that incorporate AI and future technology solutions to allow the UAE government to achieve its We the UAE 2031 goals quickly. The 2031 plans include four main pillars –society, economy, diplomacy and ecosystem. The aim was to introduce salient features of the new cycle, which has been shortened from five years to three years to seamlessly keep pace with rapid global changes and ensure the highest levels of flexibility and capability to accommodate regular plan updates - enhancing government readiness and proactiveness in facing challenges. This move aligns with the 'We the UAE 2031 Vision' and reinforces both companies' dedication to driving digital transformation. As part of the agreement, Moro Hub will offer OpenText's advanced technologies to public and private sector organisations. These include solutions in: Content Services Digital Experience, Security, and Analytics The offerings aim to help organisations modernise their operations. They will also support data-driven decision-making and meet the rising demand for digital connectivity. Mohammed bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, stated that this collaboration enhances their services. He added it supports the UAE's smart infrastructure goals by improving efficiency, security, and sustainability. PwC reports that AI could contribute over $320 billion to the Middle East economy by 2030. In light of this, the partnership positions Moro Hub and OpenText as leaders in innovation. It also enables them to provide secure, intelligent, and scalable services to businesses and government entities. Harald Adams, Sales Vice President of Emerging Markets at OpenText, said the partnership reflects their shared vision. He noted that both companies aim to empower UAE organisations through AI-powered technologies.
