Jenna Bush Hager Reveals the One Thing Her Son Hal, 5, Asked Her to Stop Doing at Bedtime

Jenna Bush Hager's son isn't always one for dramatics. While speaking with Ben Falcone about his new children's book What's Scarier Than Thunder? on Thursday, March 20, the Today with Jenna and Friends host, 43, opened up about her bedtime reading experience with her son Hal, 5. Bush Hager, who's also a mom to daughters Poppy, 9, and Mila, 11, shared that her little one sometimes dislikes the voices she uses to play the characters in the story. "When I read to my little, he goes, 'Regular regular.' And, I go, 'What do you mean?' And he's like, 'I don't like that voice like, you don't need to perform with everything Mom,' " she shared. "I would do the voices, and he'd say 'Regular regular,' which I'm like, 'Geez.' While speaking with Monica Lewinsky about failure on the Wednesday, Feb. 19 episode of Today with Jenna and Friends, she noted she feels like that's one of the things she's concerned her kids won't be able to learn. Bush Hager shared that she thinks failing helps build her character. "It's actually my biggest concern as a mom is I don't think our kids are allowed to fail," Bush Hager said. "And I failed publicly and it's actually what makes me, I feel like, my superpower." "I feel brave because you can come out of something," she added. "We need to teach kids that they can come out of things." The mom of three has been candid about her journey to motherhood over the years, admitting that "logistics can be difficult" now with three children. However, the proud mom devotes her time to "making sure that each child has the love that I know I feel for them." Overall, expanding her family has brought her more joy than ever. "It's fun," she told PEOPLE after the birth of her third child. "I'm really happy." All parenting challenges aside, Bush Hager would love to have more children. "I'd like to have another baby," she recently said on an episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna. "We're not. Henry put his foot down. He says we have three healthy babies." Ben Falcone Reveals Why He Loves Being a Girl Dad to His Teenagers Georgette and Vivian: 'It's Great'

Ben Falcone loves being a girl dad. The Life of the Party actor, 51, opened up on The View about being a father to 15-year-old daughters Georgette and 17-year-old Vivian, whom he shares with wife and fellow actress Melissa McCarthy. Falcone shared with the hosts that he loves being a dad to teenage daughters, and that it's "really nice" raising "amazing young people." "I tell people I have teenage girls, and they go, 'Ah man. How's it in your house.' and I'm like, 'It's great,' " Falcone said. "They're really nice. They're amazing young people. I feel good to know that these young people are going to grow up and take over the world." Three years later, the duo welcomed daughter Georgette, completing their family of four. McCarthy opened up to PEOPLE about her family life at home in February 2020. 'It's not the most serious household,' she said. 'There's a lot of serious stuff happening in the world, and we don't have to have it in the house.' She noted that people are always 'yelling' and 'coming in and out' of their house. 'Our youngest is constantly on some kind of wheeled thing ripping through the house, and I just kind of love it,' she added of Georgette. Now that the girls are teenagers, McCarthy couldn't be prouder of the young women they've become. "Watching them navigate a world that's so much more complicated and so much harder. And to do it with such grace and love and care and such empathy for other people," she said during her April 2023 cover story for PEOPLE. "Boy, you don't want to mess with those two if you're doing wrong to good people, they stand up for themselves. And I learn from that every single day." The Little Mermaid actress also discussed the prospect of her daughters eventually leaving the nest, but admitted that she doesn't even allow herself to think about it. "Nope, because it's never going to happen," she said jokingly. "One of my daughters was talking about maybe going to school in Scotland. And literally Ben's like, 'Your lip's twitching.'"
