"Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" is returning to Disney Channel next month.
Season 2 of the "Wizards of Waverly Place" sequel series is set to debut with two episodes on September 12 on the cable network before all episodes land on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on October 8.
Season 2 features a slew of exciting guest stars including Selena Gomez, Zombies 4 star Freya Skye as Piper, What We Do In the Shadows' Harvey Guillén as Gossip Stone and newcomer Recker Eans as Quentin.
Other guest stars will be Kirsten Vangsness as Bigelow McFigglehorn, Tobias Jelinek as Lord Morsus, Patrick Bristow as Wiz M.D. and Eleanor Sweeney as Bella Bianchi.
Fans of the original Wizards of Waverly Place are in for an extra dose of nostalgia this season thanks to the return of some iconic characters. Mr. Laritate (Bill Chott) and Mantooth (Sean Whalen) will both make appearances in Season 2.
Amanda Tepe, who played several memorable roles throughout the series' run, will also make an appearance in a Christmas-themed Season 2 episode of Wizards Beyond.
Disney has dropped the official teaser for season 2 of the sequel series, which sees Janice LeAnn Brown's Billie transported to a strange dimension where she moments from the prior season are playing out in front of her.
She shakes off the weirdness and jumps through a mirror portal, followed by Max Matenko and Alkaio Thiele's Milo and Roman Russo.
'Ready for what comes next?' Roman asks on the other side of the mirror, to which Milo replies: 'A Russo is always ready.'
In Season 2 of "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place", Billie grapples with the fact that being part of the Russo family might be more complicated than she thought — especially now that she's not the only wizard in the house. Thanks to Roman and Milo's new magical powers, Justin is now tasked with training three young wizardsfor the Family Wizard Competition. As the stakes rise inside and outside the family, a mysterious new threat emerges…one that could unravel the Russos forever.
Series stars who are returning for Season 2 are David Henrie (as Justin Russo), Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter) and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo).
"Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" hails from Disney Branded Television. Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez and Henrie. "The original Wizards of Waverly Place" was created by Todd Greenwald.
