May 12 South Africa (Fairview) form analysis

Race 1 (1,400m) Inexperience seems to have cost (1) BAROLO in both her starts so far. She should go one better this time. (8) SILVAN MISTRESS is probably looking for further but should be right there at the finish once again. (3) DREAM TEAM was a couple of lengths behind that rival last time out and will need to improve to beat her, but she can play a minor role. (9) VINO RIOJA makes her debut and could earn some money. Race 2 (1,200m) (8) CLEVER CANDY showed good improvement when a close-up third on debut. She may need further than this but she can win. (1) GRAND ALLEGRO was too far back last time and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He should be very competitive again. (7) ALADO'S HABIT is also capable of earning some money. (3) BROOKSIDER is capable of getting in the mix of things as well. Race 3 (1,600m) (1) MR FOX is still showing signs of inexperience and a switch to the Polytrack could coax a victory out of him. (2) CHEERFUL CHARLIE B was not far behind that rival last time but can get involved with the finish again. (3) BOMBER BAY returned to sprinting last time but could be better over this distance. (4) FIZZLY BUBBLY can improve being on the Polytrack for the first time. Race 4 (1,600m) (6) GREENLIGHT LEGEND backed out of the stalls at the worst possible moment and a false start was declared. She has won full of running in two local starts on the turf and can score again if she is as good on this surface. (7) BOSNAY is unreliable but was only out of it late last time. She has a winning chance. (10) MISTER WHISTLE and (9) PISCES are both in good shape and can earn more money. Race 5 (1,000m) (2) DRESSEDTOTHENINES clearly needed her last run and can bounce back to score. (4) SWEET JULIA makes her local debut but does have a winning chance. (8) SWISS PARADISE makes her local debut and would not be a surprise winner. (7) MEDITERANEANGODDES is very speedy and can threaten over this course and distance. Race 6 (1,200m) Trainer Alan Greeff has a very strong hand in this race. Jockey Richard Fourie sticks with (1) WHATEVER NEXT but it is (5) MASKED VIGILANTE who gets the preference. He has won three times from five starts on the Polytrack and is suited to this course and distance. Whatever Next is not an easy ride these days but should fight it out again. (9) SWISS WALT has improved of late and is another one to consider, as well as (7) SILVONIAN. Race 7 (1,400m) (2) CHILI BOMB has improved of late and could complete a hat-trick. (3) CHAMPONELLE remains at the top of her game and was an easy winner last time, so she could double up. (4) FINAL EDITION is the other Greeff runner with winning chances. Rival trainer Gavin Smith has (7) CHARLIE MALONE who ran on well to win his latest start. Race 8 (1,900m) (5) FLIGHT DISPLAY has only been beaten once in her three local starts and that was by a good filly last time. (1) CALL TO GLORY is in good shape but has a difficult draw for her jockey to overcome. (3) FAR REACHING makes her local debut and is trying the Polytrack, but she does have ability and can score. (6) GET IT DONE is always a threat on this surface.
