NOPD: Suspects accused of assaulting officers in French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to arrest two suspects, each accused of assaulting at least one law enforcement officer in the French Quarter. The cases are the latest ones to roll on the Wheel of Justice. Both cases happened within approximately a six week period in the Lower French Quarter around Barracks Street and French Market Place. Four crimes included in the latest Wheel of Justice report The first case happened on Feb. 19. New Orleans police have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Jason Ledet. Once arrested, Ledet will be booked with one count of aggravated assault of a peace officer. The second case happened on March 23. The suspect in that case is identified as 40-year-old James Gum. Police say once arrested, Gum will face three counts of aggravated assault of a peace officer. The NOPD told WGNO that no additional information was available regarding the circumstances in each case, including whether a weapon was used. Police did provide a picture of each suspect. NOPD searching for burglary suspects who stole refrigerator

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a pair of suspects who are accused of breaking into a Mid-City home and stealing a refrigerator. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice. According to police, the crime happened a little after 3:00 in the morning on February 12 at a home in the 600 block of David Street. Police also released security camera footage that shows much of what happened. NOPD: Man with machete robs Mid-City Subway In the video, a pickup truck is seen backing up the driveway to the raised porch of a home. Moments later, the video shows the suspects loading a refrigerator into the truck's bed and driving away. NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest five suspects in a string of package theft investigations. The cases are the latest ones to roll on the Wheel of Justice. After 4 years, $10k reward in New Orleans double murder expiring The first case happened in Lakeview in the 6800 block of Argonne Street. Four days later, the second case happened in Gentilly in the 5700 block of Wilton Avenue. The third and fourth cases were both in Mid-City, in the 900 block of South Solomon Place and the 4700 block of Baudin Street. The most recent case happened in the Seventh Ward in the 3100 block of New Orleans Street. In all, the thefts occurred over a six week period. The NOPD released security camera footage in all of the cases. So far, police are not saying that any are connected.
