‘Prolonged operation': Crews battling fire at scrap metal yard in Whitchurch-Stouffville

Crews are battling a fire at a scrap metal yard in Whitchurch-Stouffville, police say. The scrap yard is located on Woodbine Avenue, south of Stouffville Road. A spokesperson for the town said emergency services got the call at 2 p.m. Images from Chopper 24 show thick smoke and heavy flames at the scene. Man, 30, charged for allegedly using cell phone under change room wall

Police in Whitchurch-Stouffville charged a 30-year-old man with voyeurism following an incident on Friday. According to investigators, a complainant reported someone pointed a cell phone under the stall of a change room they were in at a shopping centre in the area of Hoover Park Drive and Rougeview Avenue. Officers attended the shopping centre and took a local man into custody. Police are appealing for information on the situation. Anyone who can assist with the case is asked to contact the criminal investigations bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7541 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
