Music teacher from Holywell John Pierce misses BGT final spot
John Pierce, who lives in Essex but is originally from Holywell, appeared on the live semi-final show on Saturday night to deliver his performance of Wild Horses before judges Bruno Tonioli, Alicia Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell. Last night's episode saw Will Burns, Stacey Leadbeatter and Cheer Re-Man's named the top three performers voted for by the public - with Stacey Leadbeatter ultimately being named the one to go through. And Wrexham rocker Olly Pearson had already secured his place in the final thanks to his second golden buzzer earlier in the night. Simon Cowell told John Pierce he had a "great voice," adding: "I've seen come out on that stage and lose it - you've got a lot of guts." He added that while John's performance "started slow," it went "into overdrive" by the end. Amanda said: "I felt so proud of you standing there - I just imagined all of your pupils, the whole school, all at home in their lounges ready for their favourite teacher. "And that performance was incredible; the control, the breathwork. "There are millions of people watching this. It takes so much courage to stand there. Incredible, well done." Bruno said: "I was on the edge of my seat. It is an incredibly difficult song to sing. "At the beginning you were a bit nervous but once you hit the crescendo and you went to the high note, that resonance came alive. "It was absolutely wonderful."

Britain's Got Talent finalists revealed after 'incredible' live semi-finals
Two more Britain's Got Talent finalists have been revealed after another round of live semi-finals. Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli are on the hunt for the next winner of the ITV talent show, and judged eight acts tonight in the second round of semi-finals. Last week saw singer Vinnie McKee and LED dance act The Blackouts make it through, with two more joining them after tonight's show. With the power handed to Simon to deliver a Golden Buzzer to one of the eight acts, and the help of the public vote to pick another, viewers discovered who would be going through. 11-year-old schoolboy Olly Pearson was the first, after rocking the stage with his guitar skills. 'That was the coolest thing in my life,' the young musician said after Simon pressed the Golden Buzzer before any of the judges could even comment. When asked why he decided to press the life-changing Golden Buzzer, Simon replied: 'He's bloody brilliant, and he's so small, talented and charismatic.' He added: 'I probably went a little bit early in hindsight but I was so excited, that was just so brilliant, you're so talented, really, really, really talented.' 'You've got a double Golden Buzzer, you're going through to the final, I cannot wait, you've smashed this performance, I'm so proud of you' Amanda praised, having given Olly his first Golden Buzzer in the auditions stage, sailing him through to tonight's show. 'You have an amazing future in front of you, don't forget it,' Bruno meanwhile praised, while Alesha added: 'You'll be playing stadiums in no time!' Viewers were just as impressed with X user Darren writing: 'What a star The next Bon Jovi!!!! Wow.' 'Olly the rockstar on #BGT has got me in tears, he is amazing!!!!' Ellie added. Ryan shared: 'Olly Pearson:- Olly is off the scale incredible! What a talent! Rock guitar is probably one of the hardest instruments to learn but Olly is acing it!' After the excitement of Olly's performance, it was up to the public to decide who to vote through to the finals with him. And following Ant and Dec running through the results of the votes, it was revealed singer Stacey Leadbeatter. 'I can't even explain it, thank you so much, I don't have the words!' the supermarket worker said. 'Thank you so much for believing in me, it means everything to me, this is my dream, thank you,' she told voters. Tonight's semi-finals elsewhere saw teacher John Pierce battle his nerves to give an operatic rendition of Susan Boyle's Wild Horses, Lil M bring their mischief to the stage with their Minions act and magician Alexandra shock the nation with her latest trick. Jannick Holste brought his high-energy magic act to the stage too, followed by comedian Will Burns and Japanese group Cheer Re Man's acrobatics. Concluding the show was Stacey, who had earlier shared fears she'd be forced to miss the live show due to a health condition. 'My voice is only just coming back,' she recently told The Mirror. 'I am still actually on antibiotics. I haven't been able to sing properly. More Trending 'I have been a bit concerned about this weekend but, hopefully, I'll be able to do it,' she added. Thankfully, Stacey was able to take to the stage and perform tonight, securing her place in the final after winning over the public vote. With Britain's Got Talent extended and airing until May, this year, the semi-finals will air live each Saturday night for six weeks, instead of happening nightly over the course of one week as they previously did. ITV Britain's Got Talent's Simon Cowell speaks out as fans fume over annoying crowd habit
Britain's Got Talent returned tonight for its second semi-final and fans at home weren't very impressed with something that happened amid feedback from Simon Cowell This weekend's live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent prompted frustration from viewers shortly into the episode. Some fans at home shared that they weren't impressed by a moment that happened following a performance. The ITV show returned tonight for the second live semi-final of the latest series. One of the first acts to perform in the episode was singer John Pierce, 41, who took to the stage for a rendition of the song Wild Horses. The teacher was met with praise from the judging panel over the performance. Simon Cowell, 65, who had been given the power of the golden buzzer for the episode, said that whilst it "started off slow," the performance ended up going into "overdrive". He said in his feedback that John has a "great voice". Whilst the judge was sharing his thoughts, the audience at the Eventim Apollo in London were heard chanting. Some of the crowd called for Simon to press his golden buzzer, with them seemingly shouting together: "Press the gold!" Simon didn't fulfil the request and at one point informed the audience at the theatre that he could hear them. He told them in the middle of giving his feedback: "I can hear you." A number of viewers at home weren't impressed with the chanting from the audience. One person wrote on X: "Forget hitting the golden buzzer. Someone hit mute on the audience!" Another said: "Shut the f*** up audience." A third wrote: "Wish the audience would calm down dear lord." Someone said: "Please take that golden buzzer away. I am sick of hearing the audience chanting about it." One fan wrote: "Audience screaming does my head in! Calm down." Another person said: "I wish the audience mike was not so loud. I'm fed up turning the volume up and down." Sharing their thoughts, one viewer wrote: "Oh for gods sake can someone tell the audience to shut up." Someone else said: "Of course the audience are influencing the Golden Buzzer again. Well done Simon for not rising up to." The episode comes after dance act the Blackouts and singer Vinnie Mckee were voted through to the final following last weekend's first semi-final. It came after the show faced technical difficulties and one contestant didn't perform. Magician Teddy Magic, eight, had been due to perform in the first semi-final last weekend. Host Ant McPartlin, 49, said when it was the act's slot in the episode: "Teddy isn't quite ready backstage. He hasn't got his magic up and ready yet." After the hosts spoke to the judging panel, Dec Donnelly, 49, announced: "We're gonna have a little change of plan now and we're gonna go to something else." He then shared: "We'll come back to Teddy later on, hopefully." Later in the episode, it was revealed that Teddy - whose audition earlier in the series had impressed the judges - would not take to the stage that night. Dec explained to the panel and audiences: "Unfortunately, [Teddy] won't be performing tonight but we hope to see him later on in the series." As reported earlier this week, RadioTimes said it understood that a "last-minute issue" with the performance led the team behind the show to postpone the act. It's expected that Teddy will perform in one of the remaining semi-finals. The line-up for tonight's semi-final, released just a few days ago, was taken as confirmation that Teddy would not return in the second semi-final though. He wasn't named in the line-up for it, which ITV shared on Wednesday. It was announced that the second semi-final would instead include performances from magicians Alexandra Burgio and Jannick Holste, and impressionist Will Burns. Cheerleading troupe Cheer Re Mans were also named in the line-up. Dance group Lil M's and guitarist Olly Pearson were among the other acts confirmed at the time for this weekend's episode of BGT. Additionally, it was shared that singers John Pierce and Stacey Leadbeatter would perform in the episode too.
