Salisbury student secures dream job weeks after graduating

A Salisbury resident has secured his dream job just weeks after graduating. Will Hewlett, who completed his BA (Hons) in Sports Journalism at Southampton Solent University in 2025, was chosen as one of the eight rising talents in broadcasting to host the national cricket competition, The Hundred. Will Hewlett will present at the Utilita Bowl fixtures after receiving mentorship and participating in a two-day workshop. His role begins on Sunday, August 10. Will said: "I'm immensely proud and very excited to be the rising host for the Southern Brave in this year's edition of The Hundred. "It will be fast-paced and full of energy, something I'm looking forward to influencing." "He is very well placed to make a serious impact on the sports journalism industry, and the latest in a long line of very fine graduates from Solent University." Speaking on his successes, Will said: "It really feels like a door has opened at the right time, straight after graduating. "I'm very thankful for that."
