Inmate dies in federal custody in Saskatoon
An investigation will be held after an inmate died while in custody at Saskatoon's Regional Psychiatric Centre.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says 29-year-old William Gossen died Friday, August 15 of apparent natural causes. At the time of his death he was serving a sentence of 11 years, one month and 12 days, which began December 21, 2016.
The CSC says it's notified the inmate's next of kin and will review the circumstances surrounding the death, as per standard procedure. The police and coroner have also been notified, in line with CSC policy.
