Man found dead in Downtown West End identified by Calgary police
Calgary police investigate the death of a man discovered in the 600 block of 10 Street S.W. on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Calgary police have identified a man found dead in a Downtown West End residence over the weekend.
Officers were called to a building in the 600 block of 10 Street S.W. just before 8 a.m. on Saturday.
On Monday, following the completion of an autopsy, police released the man's name – William Harvey-Chenel – and said it's believed the 30-year-old was a homicide victim.
Police say the death was not random and there's no risk to the public.
'At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and investigators continue to collect and review evidence and speak to witnesses,' police said in a news release.
Anyone with information on the death or who was in contact with Harvey-Chenel prior to his death is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
