Pasquale's Deli now open under new ownership

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A popular Binghamton eatery known for its signature sausage has been resurrected by three of its biggest fans. Brent, Andrea and Brianna Hannum reopened Pasquale's Deli on Broad Avenue to a big crowd on Saturday. The deli had abruptly closed in October 2023, much to the dismay of its loyal followers. It's popular as a quick breakfast and lunch spot for workers on the go. The Hannums are working with the former owner Perry Pasquale to offer the same homemade specialties such as chicken, pork spiedies, halupki, fried haddock, soups and more. It is by far best known for its sausage, both in links and in patty form as the basis for the legendary 'grampwich.' Brent says regular customers like his own family are happy that it's back, including one 5-star reviewer online. 'The word he wrote was 'unpretentious.' I didn't know what that meant so I googled it. It meant that it's something where you're not trying to impress anybody with anything else but what you have inside which is the food,' said Brett. 'We're here to impress you with our food,' said Andrea. 'We don't need anything flashy smashy, we've got some of the best food you'll ever find in Broome County,' said Brett. Perry Pasquale opened the deli in 1987 selling homemade sausage using his grandfather's recipe which is still used today. Pasquale says his grandfather also inspired the grampwich by forming ground sausage in a patty and throwing it on the grill. The deli is open Monday through Friday 6 to 4 and Saturdays 8 to 4.
