Drake Taps Lauryn Hill, 21 Savage, Rema, More Surprise Guests for London's Wireless Festival
Drake headlined the three-day Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park in London over the weekend and it was a star-studded, surprise guest-filled affair. Lauryn Hill, 21 Savage, Rema, Vanessa Carlton, and more joined the rapper throughout the weekend. On Friday, Drake set the theme for the night. 'This is the first time in my life that I've done three different shows on three different days,' Drake told the crowd, per Billboard. 'You came to a very special night. It's night one. It's a celebration of all things R&B. All things melodies. All classics.' Beyond his own classics, surprise guest Lauryn Hill also dropped one of her own. Her performance of 'Ex-Factor' transitioned into Drake's Hill-sampling 'Nice for What.' The night also included appearances by Bryson Tiller, Givēon, and PartyNextDoor. More from Rolling Stone Lauryn Hill Addresses 'Nonsense' Idea That She's 'Too Important to Care' About Being Late to Shows Ovrkast on Working With Drake, Dealing With Success, and His Supernatural Inspiration Drake's 'Iceman' Era Could Be a Misstep if It's Too Focused on Beef On Saturday, Drake switched gears. 'London, tonight is different,' Drake told the crowd. 'All that sweetheart, singing shit? That shit is over tonight. This is for my motherfucking dogs. I see my dogs came out tonight.' Rappers Skepta, Latto, Sexyy Redd, and 21 Savage were among the guests. He and 21 Savage performed 'Knife Talk' and 'Rich Flex' from their collaborative 2022 album, Her Loss. The second night also had the crowd chanting 'Fuck Kendrick.' Drake's response was to ask someone to pour him a shot, before he said, 'I'll drink to that.' The two rappers' monumental beef has continued to spark conversations even a year later, and so it's not surprising that their respective concerts (along with Drake's defamation lawsuit over Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us') touch on it, even if it's crowd-sourced. He capped off the rap-focused night with an unexpected surprise guest: He invited Vanessa Carlton out to perform her 2002 song, 'A Thousand Miles.' Sunday's set was a brief 40 minutes due to a strict curfew, per the BBC, but Drake still had some surprises in store. He teased an unreleased collaboration with British rapper Central Cee, and Rema drew cheers, as did Vybz Kartel. Earlier in the month, Drake dropped 'What Did I Miss?' ushering in his Iceman era. Drake And Sexyy Red Throw Back Shots At 9 A.M. During 'Wealth And Hellness' Retreat
Sexyy Red and Drake have bonded heavily over the last few years, so much so that she can get him to make crazy decisions — like throwing back shots of alcohol at 9 a.m. Clips surfaced online of the duo attending Drizzy's Wealth and Hellness retreat. He shared photos and videos on Instagram showing the St. Louis star and her friends dancing by a bar, internet comedian BenDaDonn, former NFL player Johnny Manziel, and others having a large group dinner under a tent, Chubbs having a drink on a boat, and Zack Bia DJing a function. Red and Drizzy's early morning turn up confirmed his lyrics from 'Signs' in 2017, where he sang, 'You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.' The group showed off their shot glasses and called for a cheers in the first clip, but the 6 God wasn't holding one. In the second clip, he finally retrieved one and said 'I'm about to be f**ked up, man, it's like 9 o'clock.' Nonetheless, he obliged and their festivities continued. Watch below. It takes a special friend to get somebody to start their day with shots, and the Toronto superstar emphasized how close he is to the 'Get It Sexyy' artist this weekend at Wireless Festival in London. She was a surprise guest during his headlining set on day two (Saturday, July 12) and performed 'Get It Sexyy,' 'SkeeYee,' 'Pound Town,' and their collaboration 'Rich Baby Daddy.' At one point, the 'What Did I Miss?' artist called Red one of his best friends and thanked her for constantly checking on him. Despite everyone who seemingly betrayed him last year, Red has consistently and proudly maintained her loyalty. She received the first Drake feature following his beef with Kendrick Lamar, their viral love song 'U My Everything,' in May 2024. He also joined her in the 'Get It Sexyy' music video a few months prior. Watch below. Drake Replaces Kendrick Lamar At No. 1 On Several Billboard Charts
Drake's 'What Did I Miss?' debuts at No. 1 on seven Billboard charts, dethroning Kendrick Lamar and ... More SZA's 'Luther' after a record-setting run. LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 12: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Drake performs live on stage during day two of Wireless Festival 2025 at Finsbury Park on July 12, 2025 in London, England. Drake is headlining an unprecedented all three nights of Wireless Festival. (Photo byfor ABA) Drake demonstrates his immense popularity in the United States yet again this week as his new single 'What Did I Miss?' arrives. The tune debuts at No. 1 on several Billboard charts, including many of the company's top hip-hop and rap tallies. In several instances, the Canadian superstar manages to unseat his rival Kendrick Lamar, who has been ruling some of the most important hip-hop and rap lists for months with what has turned out to be a historic win. Drake Replaces Kendrick Lamar at No. 1 'What Did I Miss?' opens at No. 1 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. Those tallies use a methodology that blends sales, streams, and radio airplay to rank the most consumed tracks in those genres throughout the country. This week, that honor belongs to the latest from Drake. Last frame, Kendrick Lamar ruled both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs rankings with 'Luther,' one of his collaborations with friend SZA. The tune extended its reign as the longest-running leader on both tallies, earning a twenty-eighth stay in the penthouse. Drake, who publicly feuded with Lamar in 2024, beats the record-setting tune as 'What Did I Miss?' conquers the two rosters. Drake Makes Up for His Recent Near-Miss The arrival of 'What Did I Miss?' at No. 1 must be exciting for Drake. He has reached the summit many times before, but only recently he failed to best Lamar and SZA's 'Luther' with 'Nokia,' the standout smash from Drake's recent album Some Sexy Songs for You. The single stalled in the runner-up spot on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs rankings, as well as the Hot 100. Dozens of No. 1 Singles Drake scores his thirty-first No. 1 on both of the general consumption lists. He's now reached the top 10 a staggering 139 times on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally and 142 times on the Hot Rap Songs list. In its first frame on the Billboard rosters, 'What Did I Miss?' also opens at No. 1 on all of the following charts: Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales, R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales, Rap Streaming Songs, and Rap Digital Song Sales lists.

Scots firm creates last minute five-a-side pitch for rap superstar and football pals
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A GLASGOW company made a bespoke five-a-side pitch for Drake and his crew. Superstrong Fitness answered the call to supply the artificial surface for the rap superstar to play football on. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 1 Drake completed a three-day residence at Wireless Festival in London Credit: Getty The Canadian singer used the pitch to unwind after a three-night headline run at Wireless Festival in London. The tennis courts at Oakley Court, a plush Victorian mansion hotel in Windsor, were transformed into a temporary miniature football pitch. A private £2million post-tour football party was planned at the hotel for Drake, his friends, crew, and VIP guests. But it was nearly ruined when it was realised there was not enough turf. The contractor operating the afterparty venue got in touch with Superstrong Fitness. It requested 300 square metres of heavy-duty gym turf. Michael Geraghty, founder of Superstrong Fitness, said: "I got a panicked text while I was sitting at Stockholm Airport. "The contractor was 120 square metres short. They needed more turf by lunchtime the next day. "I was about to board a flight back to Scotland. We didn't flinch. "I arranged an overnight courier before takeoff, landed in Edinburgh, and drove straight to our warehouse to meet the delivery van." 'I cried my eyes out for a fortnight' - emotional Sinead O'Connor's dad tells of losing his singer daughter and life without the star The surface was created on time and completed with spray-painted with pitch markings. SuperStrong Fitness, based in Hillington, Glasgow, was established in 2020 during the Covid lockdown. It has supplied turf and sled tracks to thousands of home gyms, CrossFit boxes, and commercial fitness spaces - including both the men's and women's training facilities at Manchester United. Michael added: "We might never see the footage. "But knowing our turf gave one of the biggest artists on the planet a chance to relax with mates after a mega show - that's more than enough for us."
