Wisconsin Recruiting Heats Up with Commitment from Bah

Wisconsin Recruiting Heats Up with Commitment from Bah originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a slow start to building its 2026 recruiting class, the Wisconsin football program is starting to heat up. Using momentum during official visits, the Badgers are starting to add players to their class. Advertisement One of those players is defensive lineman Djidjou Bah, out of Germantown, Tennessee. The 6-3, 253-pound defensive lineman is considered a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports. Bah picked the Badgers over a handful of Power 4 teams, including Iowa, Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, and more. He announced his commitment to Wisconsin on social media. While Bah is listed as a defensive lineman on the recruiting site, Bah's primary recruiter from the Badgers is linebackers coach Matt Mitchell. It may not mean anything, but it could also be an indicator that the Badgers are looking to use Bah as an edge rusher rather than a defensive lineman. Advertisement The Badgers already have Carmelow Reed in the class, who is also listed as a defensive lineman, but the Badgers are looking to use him as an edge rusher. Reed's commitment to the Badgers, however, may be in question after he took a visit to Ole Miss over the weekend. Bah was scheduled to take his visit before the Reed news broke. But now, Bah's commitment is looking like solid insurance for the Badgers. With the addition of Bah, the Badgers' 2026 class now stands at 10 committed players. Stay tuned, because there are likely to be more commitments in the near future. Related: Badger Commit Flirting with Rebels? Wisconsin football lands commitment from class of 2026 in-state linebacker

Wisconsin football landed a commitment from class of 2026 linebacker Ben Wenzel on Sunday. Wenzel announced his commitment during his official visit to the program. He chose the Badgers over one other top contender: the Oklahoma Sooners. Advertisement 247Sports lists the Appleton, Wisconsin, native as a three-star recruit, ranked specifically as the No. 1,251 player in the class of 2026, the No. 109 linebacker and the No. 5 recruit from his home state. He is the Badgers' highest-ranked in-state recruit in the class, with 247Sports' No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 players in the state committed to Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa and North Dakota State, respectively. Wisconsin was late to offer Wenzel, waiting until May 20 to do so. The program's pursuit then picked up quickly. It has now added the linebacker's commitment before his scheduled visit to Oklahoma (June 20). Wenzel is Wisconsin's ninth commitment in the class. He was the program's second addition to the group on Sunday, following three-star defensive lineman Arthur Scott. Both players committed before the conclusion of their official visits. The Badgers' class now ranks No. 39 nationally and No. 13 in the Big Ten after those two additions. Luke Fickell and his staff are still looking for their first blue-chip commit. Wisconsin is building momentum off its first official visit weekend of the month, arguably the most important three-day period of the recruiting cycle. Fickell and company hope that momentum aids the program's chances with its top targets in the class, including four-star recruits LB McHale Blade, WR Jayden Petit, RB Amari Latimer, OT Kamari Blair and athlete Jackson Ford. Wisconsin football offers top-ranked class of 2027 safety

Wisconsin football extended an offer to top-ranked class of 2027 safety Kevin Caldwell Jr. on Thursday. Caldwell Jr. immediately becomes the highest-ranked safety on Wisconsin's class of 2027 offer sheet, leapfrogging four-star prospect JayQuan Snell. 247Sports ranks Caldwell Jr. as the No. 75 overall recruit in the class, the No. 7 safety and the No. 10 prospect from his home state of Georgia. Advertisement Despite being a rising junior at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia, Caldwell Jr. has already received nearly 30 offers from programs across the nation. The Badgers join Tennessee, Nebraska, Miami (Florida), LSU, Louisville, Georgia, Auburn and Arkansas at this stage of his recruiting process. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete starred for Parkview in limited touches as a sophomore. He totaled 199 yards and three touchdowns off 21 touches on offense this past season, averaging nearly 20 yards per touch. Defensively, he also notched 49 total tackles, four for loss and one fumble recovery. On top of Caldwell Jr.'s two-way capabilities, he returned 10 kickoffs for 204 yards and six punts for 72 yards last season, including a 52-yard return. That three-way versatility makes him one of the more attractive prospects in the class, which is reflected by the bevy of collegiate suitors on his offer sheet. Advertisement While Caldwell's college landing spot is unclear at this stage, On3's recruiting prediction machine considers LSU the heavy favorite with a 50.0% likelihood to land a commitment as of May 16. Meanwhile, 247Sports has yet to release a crystal ball and zero Rivals' insiders have shared a FutureCast. Given Caldwell's trajectory, he could blossom into a five-star recruit by the time he's a senior. That type of talent will certainly attract even more programs, so Wisconsin's involvement at this juncture is encouraging. Fresh off his sophomore season, the Georgia native is already one of the top defensive talents on UW's list of 2027 offers. His status will be worth monitoring.
