Quilts of Valor distributed to Chippewa Valley veterans
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Wisconsin Northwoods Coats of Valor group distributed their Quilts of Valor to Chippewa Valley veterans. The group gave the quilts as a form of appreciation for the veteran's service to our country.
14 vets were given quilts in an emotional ceremony at VFW Post 7232 in Eau Claire. The quilt makers hope their gesture brings vets warmth, comfort and healing. Nancy Hainhock explains, 'That's pretty much what we're all about… bringing happiness, joy and comfort to these guys who served our country.'
The Wisconsin Northwoods Coats of Valor has been making quilts for veterans in western Wisconsin for the last 3 years. Members say they are always looking for new people to get involved.
