The actress is planning to star in a comedy drama. An independent industry source tells News18 Showsha, 'Taapsee Pannu is all set to explore a new space with her upcoming film."
While revealing that the details about the project, co-stars, and other aspects have been kept under wraps for now, the insider adds, 'After Gandhari, Taapsee is all set to surprise the audience with something different and refreshing. She will be stepping into the comedy genre following her action-packed role in Gandhari. More details are currently kept under wraps. The makers are expected to announce the project soon."
Currently, Taapsee is gearing up for the release of Gandhari, an action-packed film that will see her in a never-seen-before avatar. From intense training sequences to adrenaline-pumping stunts, the film is expected to present her in a gritty, fierce, and dynamic role, continuing her streak of breaking stereotypes.
As far as her comedy film is concerned, it will mark a refreshing turn in Taapsee's journey as she dives into comedy with her signature charm and confidence.
Gandhari, a revenge drama, is directed by Devashish Makhija. It is the film's setting that makes it different from others in its genre. Apart from Taapsee Pannu, Gandhari will also star Ishwak Singh in a key role. The film will be released on Netflix later this year. The team wrapped the filming schedule in March, as the actress shared via intriguing photos on Instagram.
For the unversed, Taapsee was last seen in the comedy entertainer Khel Khel Mein, which was released in August last year. Helmed by Mudassar Aziz, the film also featured an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.
Meanwhile, netizens also await an update on her film Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, co-starring Pratik Gandhi, which was wrapped back in 2022.
