Iowa women's basketball among elite 2026 recruit's final four schools

Iowa women's basketball among elite 2026 recruit's final four schools Iowa women's basketball got big recruiting news on Thursday. Five-star, class of 2026 wing McKenna Woliczko trimmed her top 10 schools down to a final four, including the Iowa Hawkeyes among that final four. Iowa joins Ohio State, South Carolina and USC among the final four choices for Woliczko. The 6-foot-2 wing from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, has been on the Hawkeyes' radar for some time. Woliczko took an unofficial visit to Iowa last October. An elite recruit in the 2026 cycle, Woliczko is ranked as the No. 6 player nationally by ESPN, On3 and 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Woliczko is the country's No. 2 power forward and the No. 2 player from California. On3 rates Woliczko as the nation's top shooting guard and as the No. 2 player from California. According to On3's Talia Goodman, Woliczko has set official visits to South Carolina on June 30 and to Iowa on Aug. 28. "I have a really good relationship with all the coaches. I talk to them a lot and I just love them as people and I could see them coaching me. When I went on Iowa's campus in the fall, I really enjoyed the girls. I feel like all of them were very chill, but also they want to get better and play great basketball," Woliczko told Goodman of On3. "I also really loved the campus. It kind of had that smaller college town vibe and I really liked that. Obviously, they have a big fan base. I think that's really cool to have, with all those people supporting women's basketball. I thought that was super cool." Woliczko is currently working her way back from injury. The Cali product suffered a non-contact ACL injury just days into the new year on January 4. Woliczko averaged 20.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game during her freshman season and then 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game with Archbishop Mitty during her sophomore campaign. Woliczko's original top 10 also featured Florida State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas and Vanderbilt.
