Iowa women's basketball among elite 2026 recruit's final four schools
Iowa women's basketball got big recruiting news on Thursday.
Five-star, class of 2026 wing McKenna Woliczko trimmed her top 10 schools down to a final four, including the Iowa Hawkeyes among that final four. Iowa joins Ohio State, South Carolina and USC among the final four choices for Woliczko.
The 6-foot-2 wing from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, has been on the Hawkeyes' radar for some time. Woliczko took an unofficial visit to Iowa last October.
An elite recruit in the 2026 cycle, Woliczko is ranked as the No. 6 player nationally by ESPN, On3 and 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Woliczko is the country's No. 2 power forward and the No. 2 player from California.
On3 rates Woliczko as the nation's top shooting guard and as the No. 2 player from California.
According to On3's Talia Goodman, Woliczko has set official visits to South Carolina on June 30 and to Iowa on Aug. 28.
"I have a really good relationship with all the coaches. I talk to them a lot and I just love them as people and I could see them coaching me. When I went on Iowa's campus in the fall, I really enjoyed the girls. I feel like all of them were very chill, but also they want to get better and play great basketball," Woliczko told Goodman of On3.
"I also really loved the campus. It kind of had that smaller college town vibe and I really liked that. Obviously, they have a big fan base. I think that's really cool to have, with all those people supporting women's basketball. I thought that was super cool."
Woliczko is currently working her way back from injury. The Cali product suffered a non-contact ACL injury just days into the new year on January 4.
Woliczko averaged 20.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game during her freshman season and then 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game with Archbishop Mitty during her sophomore campaign.
Woliczko's original top 10 also featured Florida State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas and Vanderbilt.

Ranking the prospects in Texas Longhorns 2026 recruiting class
Ranking the prospects in Texas Longhorns 2026 recruiting class The summer recruiting season is in full swing. Schools are hosting recruits and holding camps, like the Longhorns did last week. elite Five-Star Challenge is in 11 days. Recruits are making tough decisions by either reducing the number of schools on their list or outright committing. Texas has seen four players commit in the past week. DT Dylan Berymon, WR Kohen Brown, DT Corey Wells and P Mikey Bukauskas have all added their names to the list of committed prospects in UT's 2026 recruiting class. The Longhorns currently have 13 prospects pledged to play on the 40 Acres. According to On3's industry team rankings, Texas has the No. 13 class in the nation. In the past few years, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has a measured approach to recruiting early in the cycle. There will be signings early, but many of the elite prospects want to wait until closer to National Signing Day in December. Much of the summer is spent building relationships with those five-star and high four-star players so Texas is in good position to sign them late. Much like Justus Terry in the 2025 cycle. Here's a look at the current 2026 Longhorn recruiting class using On3's industry rankings, which combines all of the ratings from the major recruiting sites. Remember, the devil is in the details. Bukauskas is the No. 1585 ranked player in the nation, but he is the No. 1 punter. Spartans listed as new favorite to beat out Wisconsin for priority 3-star WR prospect
Spartans listed as new favorite to beat out Wisconsin for priority 3-star WR prospect It's a battle between Michigan State and Wisconsin for a notable wide receiver prospect right now, and it appears things may be swaying in the Spartans' favor all of a sudden. A few weeks ago it looked like three-star wide receiver Zachary Washington was heading to Madison, Wisc. to continue his football career, but the latest intel from On3 suggests things may have shifted in the Spartans' favor. While Washington -- who hails from Wheaton, Ill. -- still has crystal ball predictions in favor of Wisconsin on 247Sports from last week, the Spartans are now listed as the clear-cut favorite to land his commitment on competitor recruiting site On3. On On3, Michigan State currently holds an 85% chance to land his commitment, while Wisconsin is only at 8% and West Virginia at 3%. Washington is a three-star prospect with an 87 recruiting rating on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 111 wide receiver in the class and No. 883 overall prospect in the country. He is considered one of the top priorities at wide receiver for the Spartans in the 2026 class. Michigan State hosted Washington for an official visit last weekend, which came one week after he visited Wisconsin. He will reportedly take an official visit to West Virginia this weekend as well. There is no known commitment date for Washington at this time, but it sounds like these are the three teams he is focused on within his recruiting. So with all three official visits completed after this weekend, we could certainly see a college announcement coming in the next few weeks. Michigan State has been hot on the recruiting trail lately with eight commits since the start of June. The Spartans have seen their class move up the charts thanks to this latest flurry with Michigan State now ranking No. 34 nationally at the posting of this article. The addition of Washington to this class would only further this surge from the Spartans on the recruiting trail. Indiana Fever clear Caitlin Clark for WNBA return
Indiana Fever clear Caitlin Clark for WNBA return On the eve of the Indiana Fever's (4-5) high-profile Saturday matchup against the New York Liberty (9-0), head coach Stephanie White provided a promising update on guards Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham's recovery status. Clark has been out since suffering a left quadriceps strain against the Liberty on May 24, while Cunningham has been absent with a right ankle injury sustained during the team's May 31 loss to the Connecticut Sun. On Friday, White informed the mass of reporters that both Clark and Cunningham would be available for the team on Saturday, barring any unexpected regression in their final tune-ups. Despite the positive recovery news for Clark and Cunningham, White also said the team is expected to be without forward DeWanna Bonner, who has been away for personal reasons. With the extended rest for both Clark and Cunningham, as the two were held out of Tuesday's game in Atlanta, the reintegration of the star guards should significantly help the Fever's offensive efficiency, as Indiana has averaged 77.6 points per game during Clark's absence and 74 points per game following Cunningham's injury. Saturday's game against the undefeated Liberty squad will be held at 2 p.m. CT from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as part of WNBA Commissioner's Cup action. The premier matchup between the two talented franchises will be broadcast on ABC.
