Shafali Verma Returns To India's T20I Squad For 5-Match Series Against England

Last Updated: The Indian women's cricket team will face England in five T20Is and three ODI matches. The series opener is set to take place in Nottingham on June 28. The Indian women's cricket team will travel to England next month to take part in a white-ball series that features five T20Is and three ODI matches. The away assignment will kick off with a T20I series on June 28 in Nottingham. India last played a T20I match on December 19, 2024, against the West Indies in Navi Mumbai. The Women's Selection Committee has made 10 changes to the T20I team. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues and all-rounder Deepti Sharma have only managed to retain their place from the squad featured in the West Indies series. Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, Sneh Rana, Sree Charani, Shuchi Upadhyay, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare are picked for the T20I series in England in place of Uma Chetry, Nandini Kashyap, Raghvi Bist, Sajeevan Sajana, Minnu Mani, Priya Mishra, Renuka Singh, Titas Sadhu, Saima Thakor and Radha Yadav. As far as the ODI side is confirmed, the selectors have retained the 15-member squad that won the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka. The upcoming three ODIs in England will help the Indian women's team prepare well for the Women's ODI World Cup 2025, which is set to be played in India later this year.
