They are also unbeaten in their last five matches against Italy - all friendlies -winning four of them, including a dominant 5–1 victory in February 2024 in Spain. Lauren Hemp to score: The 24-year-old has scored once at these Euros from eight attempts on goal and will have fond memories of this fixture - she found the net in England's 5–1 win over Italy the last time the sides met. Lauren James to score: If there's another flurry of goals, Lauren James is likely to be involved. She has struck twice at these Euros so far, with only forward Alessia Russo recording more attempts on goal. England vs Italy preview: Free betting tips, odds and predictions for Women's EURO 2025
DEFENDING champions England are just one victory away from reaching the Women's EURO 2025 final as they take on rivals Italy in Geneva. SunSport betting experts have previewed the contest and selected the best bets, tips and exclusive sign-up bonuses from our leading betting partners. Find The Sun's betting publishing principles here England vs Italy preview We go again… After their heart-stopping quarter-final victory over Sweden, the Lionesses are back in action for Tuesday's semi-final showdown against Italy in Geneva. More than seven million viewers tuned in to watch Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang help the defending champions fight back from a 2–0 deficit. England then won a chaotic penalty shootout 3–2 to book their place in the final four and keep their hopes of a second successive Euros title alive. It also means they've now reached the semi-finals at six consecutive major tournaments. Sarina Wiegman's side did it the hard way in that epic quarter-final. But there's reason to believe this could be a more straightforward affair against a side ranked 13th in the world - seven places below Sweden. England are unbeaten in their last five matches against Italy - all friendlies - winning four of them, including a dominant 5–1 victory in February 2024 in Spain. As for Italy, this is their best performance at a Euros since 1997, when they lost 2–0 to Germany in the final. They won just one of their three group matches in this tournament - against Belgium - and required a 90th-minute winner to edge past Norway in the quarter-finals. It was only their second knockout-stage victory at a major tournament since 1997. England vs Italy preview betting tips and predictions Lionesses roar As mentioned, the Lionesses completely steamrolled Italy in a friendly back in February 2024 - and there's every reason to believe it could be a similar story on Tuesday. England dominated that night, enjoying nearly 70% possession, recording 20 shots (12 on target), and limiting their opponents to just two efforts on goal. Sarina Wiegman's side have a wealth of experience in high-pressure knockout ties and should be more than capable of finding the net a few times against an Italy side that has conceded in each of their last three and hasn't played a semi-final since 1997. Goalscorer Sarina Wiegman tends to stick with an unchanged starting XI, so Manchester City forward Lauren Hemp is expected to start for the fifth consecutive match. The 24-year-old has scored once at these Euros from eight attempts on goal and will have fond memories of this fixture - she found the net in England's 5–1 win over Italy the last time the two sides met. How to watch Sweden vs England: Women's Euros stream link, TV channel, team news, prediction
Reigning, defending European champions England kick off their knockout round adventure on Thursday (3 pm), when they face Sweden in quarterfinal no. 2 at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich, Switzerland. MORE — Women's EURO 2025 scores & knockout schedule For live updates and highlights throughout Sweden vs England, check out PST's live blog coverage below. How to watch Sweden vs England live, stream link and start time Kick off time: 3 pm ET, ThursdayHow to watch: Disney+ Sweden focus, team news The Swedes went a perfect 9-for-9 points and conceded just one goal during the group stage, as they breezed right on by Germany, Poland and Denmark. Star striker Stina Blackstenius (41 goals, 120 caps) is the key for Sweden, making the counter-attack a constant threat when England are likely to dominate possession. Blackstenius scored twice during the Group C play and is already quite familiar with the heart of England's defense: Arsenal teammate and England captain, Leah Williamson. England focus, team news Only Spain (14) scored more goals during the group stage than England (11), with Lauren James, Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone all netting twice. The Lionesses weren't half bad defensively either, giving up just three goals on their wins over the Netherlands and Wales, and a tournament-opening defeat to France. Sarina Wiegman hasn't made a change to her starting XI in either of England's last two games — both wins — after she moved Toone (2 goals, 2 assists) into the lineup and shifted Lauren James to the right wing. Sweden vs England prediction This one feels like a stalemate headed for penalties. Sweden 1-1 (3-4 PKs) England.

🤩 Poland Women make history with first-ever major tournament goal
Poland already made history at the Women's EURO 2025 finals, with the Eagles competing at their first-ever major finals. The dreams of reaching the knockout stages ended with a 3-0 Group C defeat to Sweden on matchday two. Advertisement However, Poland ensured they wouldn't leave Switzerland without making their mark on the tournament as Natalia Padilla-Bidas scored the nation's first-ever major tournament goal against Denmark. The Bayern Munich forward was well-placed to apply a poacher's finish to a loose ball into the Danish goal, making history in the process. The goal will go down in Polish football history and Ewa Pajor gave the travelling fans even more to shout about moments later, heading in a second goal to send the Eagles 2-0 up. 📸 Alexander Hassenstein - 2025 Getty Images
