Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Tau, Appollis, Mayambela, Makhubu
Kaizer Chiefs will kick off their preseason training in the next few weeks, hoping to sign several players.
This will be Nasreddine Nabi's second preseason with the Glamour Boys. The Soweto giants will spend their preseason in the Netherlands preparing for the 2025/26 campaign. Chiefs finished ninth last season in the Betway Premiership and will not be part of the MTN8 competition in August.
Amakhosi have been linked with a number of top players, including Feisal Salum, Wonderboy Makhubu, Fiston Mayele, Percy Tau and other top players.
This week, KickOff reported that Kaizer Chiefs have enquired about Sekhukhune United striker Wonderboy Makhubu. The striker was on loan at Magesi from Sekhukhune, but Babina Noko are expected to keep him next season.
'Kaizer Chiefs have made contact with the player's representatives,' a source told KickOff .
'Makhubu's contract with Sekhukhune United indeed expires in June. But the contract has an option. It's an open secret that Sekhukhune will exercise the option.
'If they do so, that means Kaizer Chiefs have to pay.'
Amakhosi have also been linked to Polokwane City star Oswin Appollis. The winger is likely to leave Rise and Shine next season, but it remains to be seen if he'll move to a PSL club or move abroad.
If all fails, Amakhosi can always sign Bafana Bafana winger Mihlai Mayambela. The 28-year-old has reportedly expressed his interest in joining Kaizer Chiefs. Another Bafana Bafana player linked to Amakhosi is Percy Tau. The 31-year-old is currently a free agent, having left Qatar.
