His character has been described by the BBC as a "warm-hearted and eager but neurotic and slightly overbearing", which sounds very reminiscent of his incredibly famous Gavin and Stacey character. He is excited for the energy that his new young lodgers bring, although he can't quite fathom why they don't like his house rules or colour-coded cutlery. He's torn between wanting to be part of the gang - sharing banter, keeping up with trends - and clinging to his role as responsible adult. Regardless, the series looks at how the group navigate living together, emotional moments and the surprising parallels between university life and midlife crisis. The writers Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen, actually met at university and have used a lot of their own experiences to influence the series. ‌ The said: "When we first met as students, we bonded over Human Remains and Marion and Geoff. To now be writing a show in which Rob Brydon lives with students is both a dream come true and a weirdly specific full circle moment. "We're thrilled to be working with the amazing teams at Baby Cow and the BBC and can't wait to bring Bill Beam to life. Bill's Included, you're invited, we're excited." BBC's Director of Comedy, Jon Petrie added: "Rob Brydon has given us some of Britain's most beloved TV characters over the years and we're about to get another one! Article continues below "Paired with the razor-sharp writing talent of Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen, Bill's Included delivers exactly what audiences want - a warm, character-driven sitcom with genuine laughs and heart at its core. We're delighted to have this on BBC iPlayer and BBC One and can't wait for audiences to move in with Bill and his lodgers." They are yet to announce when the series will be available to watch, but keep an eye out for more information.

The 1% Club viewers stunned as Lee Mack reveals real name – but did you know it?

VIEWERS of The 1% Club were left completely stunned as Lee Mack revealed real name. The comedian first rose to fame when he wrote and appeared on the BBC One sitcom, Not Going Out. 5 5 He also appears as a regular panelist on the comedy panel show, Would I Lie to You?, alongside David Mitchell and Rob Brydon. Recently on ITV, the Southport-born comedian has reigned over the primetime airwaves on Saturday nights as he hosts The 1% Club. The game show is not like other similar formats as it does not test players on general knowledge. Instead, 100 players are whittled down as they are tasked with solving seemingly difficult riddles. These are focused on reasoning skills, logic, and common sense that only a certain amount of the general public would answer correctly. On a recent edition, presenter Lee Mack, 56, left the audience stunned when he revealed his real name. When Lee reveals the correct answer on the hit show, often he will interview players. He would often make jokes about either their names, their looks, or even their occupations. The instalment featured one contestant who said their surname was McKillop. Lee then revealed that the family moniker was actually his real surname as well, which left the audience completely stunned. Easy question on The 1% Club wipes out 12 people – but did you get it right? In 1995, he first received recognition at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival when he won the So You Think You're Funny competition as Lee McKillop. Before becoming famous for his roles on television, he cleaned stables for the legendary race horse, and three-time Grand National champion, Red Rum. According to Wales Online, he secured the job despite having never ridden a horse before, after failing his O-Levels and leaving college. One of his initial TV sketches focussed on a quick-witter racing jockey on The Sketch Show and it could have been inspired by his exposure to the racing world from a young age. The 1% Club's Most Difficult Questions The 1% Club sees 100 contestants try and make it to the 1% question and be in with a chance to win a share of the jackpot. Here are just some of the show's most difficult teasers. Players had to compare and contrast three images of butterflies then explain which of the butterflies were exactly the same on both sides. Find the image and answer here. Players were shown groups of six symbols then asked which were in the same order whether you read them from left to right or right to left. Find the image and answer here. Players were asked how many different combinations were there of displaying four digits on one hand. Find the answer here. Peter had recently found his old diary that he'd written in secret code but he couldn't remember how to decipher what he wrote. Players were asked to crack the code and find out what the bold word was. WH89 I GR1W UP I WA92 21 B8 A 5L1RI72. Find the image and answer here. Players were tasked with working out how many eyes they could see in an image, which was made up of letters, symbols and emojis. Find the image and the answer here. A 1% question was based on a grid of numbers going in ascending order from 1 to 49. Starting on 25, the middle square, SEEN took you to square 27. From there, NEW took you to 20. From there, which square would SEWN take you to? Find the image and the answer here. And finally, an easy one - What common food in bold has had its letters rearranged into alphabetical order? ABDER If you really don't know you can find the answer here. In 2005, Lee married his university crush, Tara Mckillop in an intimate and private ceremony. The year before, they welcomed their first child Arlo, and have since expanded their family with two more additions, Louise and Millie. 5 5 5

Strictly's Chris McCausland shares simple reason he turned to comedy as he spills on 'struggle'

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland has opened up about losing his sight and how humour gets him out of "embarrassing situations". The comedian, 47, joined Alan Titchmarsh for a chat over a cup of tea in the latest episode of Love Your Weekend (18th May). Chris lost his full sight by the age of 22 years old due to a hereditary condition called retinitis pigmentosa, but he has been unstoppable in show business, having won Strictly last year alongside pro partner Diane Buswell. The funnyman has also appeared on many comedy panel shows, including Would I Lie To You, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and QI. He has also appeared as an actor in Not Going Out, Me Too!, Moving On, EastEnders, and Bad Tidings. (Image: ITV) Speaking to Alan about losing his eyesight, BAFTA winner Chris explained: "My eyesight deteriorated from around maybe 25 years ago, you get used to it but you get used to the deterioration, there's never a point you can get used to it, this is what life is now. "It's the things that you don't notice happening at the time, but the things that you can do one year ago that you maybe can't do in two years time. "Especially when I got to kind of 18 to 25, that's when you know, all those years before, and still able to do everything you have always been able to do, but maybe want to strike a bit harder. "But when you get to 18 to 25 that's when you stop being about to do things, like see in the dark." (Image: BBC/Guy Levy) He later added: "You just get used to it, and it's a mad thing to say but you wouldn't think that when it's happening, 'oh I wish I was blind now' because you want the sight that you have got. But when you get there, you know, it all starts working out. " Chris is currently on a UK tour with his stand-up show Yonks! which has been well received. Alan, 76, asked Chris if he uses comedy as a "weapon" for dealing with his blindness spurring Chris to confirm he uses humour to get him out embarrassing situations. "It's a way of putting people at ease. It's a way of telling you're at ease," Chris said. (Image: ITV) "It's a way of dealing with embarrassment because you get yourself into all kinds of embarrassing situations, especially when you're pretending that you can see more than you can, because you don't want to accept that you are blind. "You pretend you can see, not don't want the label of that, especially when you are 23/23, you want to be cool, you don't want to have that label. "You try to struggle through the whole thing that people don't notice that you are, but you're unable to see as much as you are. "So you get yourself into all kinds of situations and humour tends to get you out of them, so you do use it a lot." Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh airs Sunday's at 9:30am on ITV and ITVX

Traitors fans 'gutted' one rumoured celebrity won't be taking part

The new line-up for the highly anticipated Celebrity Traitors has finally been announced, but fans have been left 'devastated' by one star's absence. Since the first Traitors series aired in 2022, viewers have been hooked by the show's devilish premise as contestants aim to figure out who is a traitor and who is a faithful inside a luxurious Scottish castle. The BBC One reality show has continued to smash viewing records, with its season 3 finale drawing in an incredible 7.4million viewers in January. Now, after months of speculation, 19 famous faces – including household names like Alan Carr and Stephen Fry – will take to the round table to try and win £100,000 for their chosen charity. However, fans have shared their fury on social media after it was confirmed that Would I Lie To You star Bob Mortimer will not be taking part. Writing on X, @JamesandMikeyx said he was 'gutted' that Bob would not be featuring. @ShereenBenahmed also wrote: 'Devastated that Bob Mortimer isn't doing #TheTraitors. I didn't need another reminder not to get my hopes up but yet here I am.' Want to get all the latest news and predictions for the best and most dramatic show this new year? Join our The Traitors WhatsApp channel for live episode coverage, behind-the-scenes gossip and a place to recover from all the cliffhangers. Simply click on this link, select 'Join Chat' and you're in! Don't forget to turn on notifications! @SuzeHopper1 added: 'Not really keen on the #CelebrityTraitors lineup. It's probably because I'm still annoyed that Bob Mortimer isn't involved and also that I would have liked to have seen other celebs involved, not an online content creator I haven't heard of before.' Metro's TV reporter, Milo Pope, shares his thoughts on Bob's omission … Who do we need to blame? The BBC? Bob's agent? Bob himself? We need answers… now! How on earth was Bob -a man who represents everything a Celebrity Traitor should be, the ultimate liar – not signed up to the show months ago? When ideas were being thrown around by producers for this series, surely, surely , Bob Mortimer's name had to be the first they had in mind? So what's happened? Is it a budget issue? Did Bob not feel up for it? Whatever happened, the comedian's absence in this series has left a gaping hole. There's no doubt that Traitors is the best game show on television, but to have Mortimer dangled in front of us by rumours only then to be snatched away is deflating. Other contestants, such as Stephen Fry and Joe Wilkinson, will surely bring some laughs, but there seems to be no replacement for the funnyman. It almost seemed like the show was too perfect for him, too tailored to his wits and comedic timing. Perhaps that's why he may have passed? Whatever happened, I want the BBC to know that I'm hurt, as are thousands of other Traitors fans. Will I still watch the Celebrity Traitors? Absolutely. @benmurray95 also said: 'Good lineup but fuming as I thought Bob Mortimer was meant to be in it!' @JadeSChadwick echoed this sentiment, writing: 'Dreams of celeb traitors x Bob Mortimer DASHED.' @Prncss_Marigold added: 'A public outcry as Bob Mortimer's name is not on the list!' In the weeks leading up to the BBC's official announcement, Mortimer seemed to be a perfect fit given his skillfulness in deceiving David Mitchell on Would I Lie To You. He has also been a major hit on another reality game show: Amazon Prime Video's Last One Laughing. More Trending Despite his omission, fans of the series can still look forward to seeing the likes of Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Clare Balding, and Tom Daley take part. In a statement, host Claudia Winkleman told viewers: 'We're incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. 'I'd love to say we'll take it easy on them and they'll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks, but that would be a lie.'
