Readers pay touching tributes to former Wrexham steward
Earlier this week, the Leader reported on the passing of Michael 'Mick' Arthur Read, who died aged 75 years old on July 25 following a three-year battle with dementia.
Born in Sussex, he met his late wife Sandra, who sadly died in 2021, in London during a church convention at the age of 23 and they were married six months later.
They had three children together; Daniel, Jonathan and Sarah.
The couple moved to Wrexham in 1973 and Mr Read began working as a steward at Wrexham AFC's Racecourse ground in 1975.
From there on, according to son Daniel, he 'fell in love' with the club.
Readers have been getting in touch with us since the article on Mr Read was published to share their tributes and memories.

Lisa Purdie said: "I remember Mick from the mission in Brynteg from when I was a child and then of course as a neighbour in the village, lovely man, so sorry for your loss."
