What to Expect from Disco Misr Festival at ZED Park May 30th
The one-day festival features live performances from Wust El Balad, Ash, a DJ set from NEDZ and standup comedy by The Goats. May 26, 2025 On May 30th, Egyptian electronic trio Disco Misr will transform ZED Park into their own playground with an all-day, family-friendly festival experience in celebration of the launch of their new album, '9 Tla2y', and a whole decade of musical magic. With a capacity of over 10,000 party people, the festival promises a jam-packed, multi-dimensional experience, featuring live performances from Egyptian indie-rock pioneers Wust El Balad, along with DJ sets from Cairo's selectors NEDZ and ASH, and a standup comedy set from The Goats outfit. Disco Misr will then take the reins of the stage to perform the full tracklist of their new album, '9 Tla2y', plus a few fan-favourite hits and remixes from their 10-year journey. Upon entering through the main gate, guests will pass through a zigzagged corridor which opens up into two gigantic living room-style lounges. Picture oversized chairs, banquette stools doubling as side tables, and vintage home telephones begging for a selfie moment. Besides the full day of non-stop music, the festival grounds will buzz with interactive, carnival-inspired Raffle games (spin the wheel, anyone?), quirky activations, and an endless parade of local food and beverage vendors. Guests will also have full access to ZED Park to explore all day long. Tickets are available on For more information, head to

Wust El Balad to Perform Live at El-Gomhoreya Theatre on March 21
Egyptian Soft Rock band Wust El Balad will perform live at El-Gomhoria Theatre in Cairo, on Friday, March 21. They are set to present several of their popular and latest songs. Wust El Balad was founded in Cairo in 1999 by members Ahmed Omran and Hany Adel. The band consists of five other members Ahmed Omar, Adham El Saeid, Asaad Nessim, Ehab Abdel Hameed (BoB), and Mohammed Gamal Al Din (Mizo). The band is considered to be the most successful rock act in Egypt and the Arab world. They were the first band in the region to gain this huge success and acclaim at large. In 2007, the band released their debut album "Wust El Balad" via the Egyptian label Star Gate Records. After Omran and Adel formed the band, six more members joined, officering music that blends the Egyptian traditional style with a modern musical touch. They mix music played with purely oriental instruments, such as Oud, with Western styles of music, such as those played with 'guitar' and 'piano.' The musicians presented their first appearance as Wust El Balad at Al Mashrabeya Gallery, followed by their first paid gig at the Berlitz Language Center. Ever since, Wust El Balad has been a regular performer at all galleries, cultural centers, bars, special events and hotels, and even abroad. They aim to reach the average person who is unable to hear them in bars or galleries, becoming the first band to play in Egyptian streets.
