Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. RFK Racing has confirmed that Dough Randolph will serve as Chris Buescher's crew chief during the next two races, starting with the All-Star weekend in North Wilkesboro. This comes after NASCAR penalized Buescher and his No. 17 Ford Mustang team after failing post-race R&D inspections following the race at Kansas Speedway. As a result of failing on the front bumper cover, the driver and team were both docked 60 points and 5 playoff points. On top of this, the team was fined $75,000 and crew chief Scott Graves was given a two-race suspension. NASCAR stated, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports: "During inspection this week at the R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina, series officials discovered that the No. 17 Ford was in violation of Sections 14.1.C (overall assembled vehicle rules) and 14.5.4.G (front bumper cover) of the NASCAR Rule Book. The team went over the maximum reinforcement allowed for its front bumper covers. "As a result, the team and driver Chris Buescher were each assessed with the loss of 60 championship points and five playoff points, and the team was fined $75,000. Additionally, crew chief Scott Graves has been suspended for the next two races through Charlotte." Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. AJ Allmendinger fired an explosive rant towards ECR Engines following an early exit from the NASCAR Cup Series AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. After just seven laps of the race, the 43-year-old's engine blew up, bringing his race to an early end. The driver fumed: "Hey ECR, you guys f***ing suck. I mean, what ... f*** you guys!" Luckily, the Kaulig Racing driver avoided a wreck when the engine blew, instead guiding the No. 16 Chevrolet off the track as it came to a stop. AJ Allmendinger, driver of the #16 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet, looks on during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on May 03, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. AJ Allmendinger, driver of the #16 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet, looks on during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on May 03, 2025 in Fort Worth, ahead of the race weekend in Kansas, Allmendinger explained in a press release: "Obviously we had a tough weekend in Texas, so we need to reset and get some momentum back. On the positive side, we've shown our mile-and-a-half program is really strong. Our plan is to go to Kansas, have speed, and execute like we have been to put together a solid run." An early issue for AJ Allmendinger in Kansas. #NASCARonFS1 — FOX: NASCAR (@NASCARONFOX) May 11, 2025 Allmendinger returned to full-time NASCAR Cup Series racing this year. The Kaulig Racing driver commented ahead of the 2025 season, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports: "Honestly, just driving the cars... I don't know if I'm on the lighter side of popular opinion on that or what, but I actually really enjoy driving the Cup cars," Allmendinger admitted. "I think that was part of the reason that we talked about the decisions. And I feel fortunate more than anything that Matt and Chris still believe in me to try to help whatever program they want me in, whether it's Cup or Xfinity. "But yeah, definitely I like the direction that our team is headed just being back in these cars full time." Allmendinger is currently 19th in the drivers' Cup Series standings. Joey Logano Baffled By Boos From NASCAR Fans: "Don't Think People Understand"
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. 2024 NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano has opened up on the boos he receives from NASCAR crowds, explaining that he wish he knew why they feel that way. During an interview with SpeedFreaks (below), the 34-year-old explained: "I wish I knew. I mean I guess some of it is probably how I started my career. I made some mistakes on the way I handled things. I think some of that has carried over for a long time. "Outside of that, I don't know. I don't put on a façade, like this is me, right? And I think it's confusing to people who see me smile and laugh and then race hard. Joey Logano, driver of the #22 AAA Insurance Ford, celebrates after winning the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on May 04, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. Joey Logano, driver of the #22 AAA Insurance Ford, celebrates after winning the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on May 04, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas."I don't think people understand how you can flip a switch like that and it comes [across] like I'm not genuine. I think that's some of it, maybe. I've tried to figure it out because I'd rather people not hate me — and there's a lot of people that don't — don't get me wrong." Although the Team Penske driver would rather not receive the bashing from fans, he argued that the opinions that matter the most are those of the people who know him personally. He continued: "Really, what matters to me, the industry people is probably the most because those are the ones that know me as a person in the garage or your family or team. "Not that I don't care about what the fans think and I do, but they don't know me. They've never really met me or talked to me that much. So you kind of got to take it with a grain of salt. It does frustrate me at times but it is what it is. I can't change that too much. "I just keep being myself and there is a lot of great (car no.) 22 fans out there, a lot of them. It's just for whatever reason, boos are louder than cheers, and I think people love to hate people. Hate is too big in our society but people love to do that stuff. "I mean, people can go on social media, more people complain than give compliments. You can do that in the work environment too, people complain more than they give compliments on anything right, so it's just the world we live in I think." NASCAR Cup Series: Current Standings

NASCAR Insights: Trackhouse duo overcomes lack of speed for Texas top 10s
Ross Chastain and Daniel Suárez both overcame a lack of speed in their Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets to leave Texas Motor Speedway with top-10 finishes. According to NASCAR Insights, Chastain's No. 1 Chevrolet ranked just 23rd in overall speed in Sunday's Würth 400 presented by Liqui Moly, and Suárez's No. 99 28th. But Chastain stormed to a second-place finish despite the relative lack of pace, while Suárez came home 10th. Advertisement MORE: Texas results | NASCAR Insights analysis explained Chastain's surge was bolstered by his No. 2 ranking in restarts Sunday and bettered with defense, which ranked third overall. That continues a trend of overcoming hindered performance from his No. 1 Chevrolet, which ranks 14th this season in speed. But Chastain isn't alone. His Trackhouse teammates Suárez and Shane van Gisbergen are facing similar issues, ranking 22nd and 35th in outright speed. 'That's a working-class day,' Chastain told FOX Sports. 'Just no confidence in the car (Saturday), and you all saw that. Just the speed of the Trackhouse cars on Saturdays is just terrible. And we're just not confident — all three drivers. 'There was one pit stop today that (crew chief) Phil Surgen and the group — it takes a ton of people back at Trackhouse and on the box here and at GM Chevrolet, and they made me a confident driver all of a sudden with one adjustment. And it was small stuff. It doesn't even make sense. But after that, I was a confident driver. … But yeah, I can't drive an uncomfortable car, personally. So as soon as they got it comfortable — or at least gave me some confidence — we started going forward.' Advertisement At Texas, no one defended positions better than Suárez, a two-time Cup race winner. He maximized the productivity of his pit crew as well, which ranked fourth Sunday with front tire changer Josh Bush, rear changer Seth Gajdorus, tire carrier Charles Plank, jackman Josh Appleby and fueler Milan Rudanovic. However, the No. 99 car ranked 28th in passing and 20th on restarts. 'It was a good day for this No. 99 Kubota Chevrolet team,' Suárez said. 'We had decent speed out there. I think that we potentially had a little bit more, but we were struggling a lot on restarts all day long, except for the start of the race for some reason. All in all, it was a decent day, and it's good to get back-to-back top-10 finishes.'
