An amazing John Wick video game you've never heard of will be delisted this week
One of the best turn-based tactics games of all-time, that also happens to be a John Wick tie-in, is going to be removed from sale on Thursday. If this was the 90s you would've been drowning in John Wick video games by this point. They all would've been 2D action platformers, and probably not very good, but in the old days any movie with even a hint of action invariably got turned into a video game tie-in. Those days are long gone and movie tie-ins are relatively rare now, especially ones based on specific films and not the universe in general. The licence to make them is often too expensive and by the time the game is finished the movie risks being old news. Even so, it does seem bizarre that there have only ever been two John Wick games, one of which is a very brief VR 'experience', and the other of which you'll no longer be able to buy after this week. Apart from a pinball game and the aforementioned VR title, called John Wick Chronicles, the only hint at a big budget tie-in was back in 2022, but nothing's been heard of that since. So that means that the only proper video game ever released for the franchise is 2019's John Wick Hex. It wasn't well promoted and only had middling reviews, but we loved it. Not because we particularly like John Wick but because it's a highly original turn-based tactics game, where you have very fine control over John's movements and actions, carefully choreographing his attacks and dodges like a sort of slow-motion action game. We discussed it at length in an interview with creator Mike Bithell, back in 2019, who discussed what it was like to work with Hollywood producers, something he's become quite adapt at given his most recent game is Tron: Catalyst. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Although we love the game, the fact that it wasn't an action title and had very ugly graphics, with no involvement from Keanu Reeves, led to it being almost entirely ignored – despite the fact that it's only £16. It was eventually released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC but will be delisted this week, on Thursday, July 17 on all online stores. That's presumably because the movie licence has run out, which is something that often happens and means that other high quality games, like Activision's two War For Cyberton Transformers games, are no longer available to buy. It's also why racing games, like Forza Horizon 4, always get delisted after a few years. If you already own the game as a digital download then you'll still be free to download it whenever you want, but if you don't own it by Thursday then you'll never be able to. More Trending 'After July 17th, 2025, existing owners of John Wick Hex will still be able to access the game via their digital libraries (PC/console) and/or physical copies (console), however new purchases of John Wick Hex will not be possible, regardless of platform or storefront,' confirms publisher Big Fan Games. After that your only option is to buy someone's console or Steam account that has it, but no one's likely to go to that much effort for John Wick Hex. They did for the P.T. demo though, for what would've become Silent Hills, but then Konami went the extra step of completely erasing the demo, so that it can't even be re-downloaded. That's made consoles with it on the hard drive something of a collector's edition – we just checked and there's currently one on eBay going for over £700. We Caught Up with Pro Skater Tony Hawk ... at the Zoo
After months of build-up, which included the game's soundtrack being releasedin March, the next-gen remake ofTony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4has finally dropped worldwide on consoles andPC. We caught up with the skate legend in London to talk about the franchise, skateboarding, and which athlete he'd switch places with if he had the chance. Check out out conversation below and follow@hypebeaston Instagram now. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, brings the franchise into 2025 with updated graphics and optimized gameplay. It features many of the game's original skaters, with some of the OGs making a comeback including Bob Burnquist, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Geoff Rowley, Chad Muska, Eric Koston and – of course – Tony Hawk himself. Several new skaters have been added, too, like Jamie Foy, Chloe Covell, Yuto Horigome and Nora Vasconcellos. The latest release in the iconicskateboardingseries also brings back the fan-favorite mode 'Create-A-Skater', allowing gamers to make and skate their own character. From choosing a hometown or a skating style for your skater, to kitting your character out in various apparel or customizing your board, the 'Create-A-Skater' mode provides a large range of options for players to pick from. All of the original skateparks are back, too, and levels like Skater Island, Airport and Alcatraz have been remade to take full advantage of the power found in current-gen gaming devices. And newly added parks, like Waterpark and Movie Studio, deliver an entirely new challenge for any gamers who think they've mastered the originals. One of the most iconic parks of the series, Zoo, has also been remade, and the new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 featuring a fully playable version of London Zoo. A few days ahead of the game's launch, London Zoo is also where Hypebeast found Tony Hawk. The pro-skater – known to fans and friends as 'Birdman' thanks to his gravity-defying feats on four wheels – was in town to witness a Harris Hawk being named in his honour, a weird but heartwarming full-circle moment for the skate legend. Tony Hawk'sPro Skater 3 + 4 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC via Steam, and the Microsoft Store.

Chicago Sky's Angel Reese will be on a special-edition cover of NBA 2K26
2K Games announced Wednesday that NBA 2K26 will be released Sept. 5 and Angel Reese and Carmelo Anthony will be featured on special-edition covers. Oklahoma City Thunder guard and reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was announced a day earlier as the cover athlete for the video game's standard edition, which will cost $69.99 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X'S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Chicago Sky forward Reese will be on the WNBA edition, and Anthony, who is set to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, will be on the superstar edition. A fourth edition will feature all three players on the cover. 'Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone — it's a statement,' two-time All-Star Reese said in a news release. 'It's about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold and take up space unapologetically. 'To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me and the growing impact of the league as a whole. I'm proud to be part of a game that continues to elevate women's basketball and can't wait for fans to see how NBA 2K26 brings our game to life like never before.'
