Kick Streamer XenaTheWitch Arrested After Shooting Innocent Bystander With Paintball Gun

What should've been a harmless, free-for-all $30,000 Lady Bird Lake scavenger hunt in Austin turned into an actual crime scenario after Kick streamer Amaris 'XenaTheWitch' Sampson allegedly shot an innocent person in the thigh with a paintball gun. Yep, you read that correctly: the 29-year-old social media personality confused an onlooker with a participant, pulled the trigger, and found himself cuffed. Police verified the altercation took place sometime about 5:55 p.m. on August 9th along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Sampson was booked into Travis County Jail as of Wednesday and now stands charged with two Class A misdemeanors: assault with bodily injury and deadly conduct. If convicted, she would face up to seven years in jail for a paintball splat. The Viral Video That Got Her Arrested The entire incident has been live-streamed and has gone viral since. During the course of the montage, pandemonium broke out: 'Adriana! That's a live worker you nearly killed.''Huh? Yeah, that's a work!''I don't give a f***.' Seconds later, one can hear the injured bystander utter: 'Yes, she f***** shot me. It was one of those girls.' As opposed to apologizing or even stopping, Sampson purportedly uttered more defiantly: 'I don't give a f**.' A Pattern of Recklessness If you are one who is used to XenaTheWitch's antics, this is far from breaking news. Her streaming career has been controversial: Her cameraman was accused in January of taking an Uber driver's phone while live on stream and tossing it under the driver's car. She stunned everybody in November of 2023 by pissing out of her bedroom window on camera, yes, for views. So the paintball debacle appears more like a predictable overextension of a streamer attempting to outdo herself from her previous prank instead of an accident. Community Reaction and Fallout The streaming community is split. Some are running to her defense, labeling it a 'misunderstanding in the course of an event,' while others are saying shooting unarmed civilians in public is not 'content,' it's against the law. The victim reportedly told police that she had been injured and in agony, and APD was extremely adamant that Sampson's actions were reckless and endangered others in the park. Salt in the wound, the event was even hosted by fellow streamer Paul 'Ice Poseidon' Denino, who is himself known for controversy. The scavenger hunt was set up as wild and high-stakes fun, but the 'stakes' ended up being a police record. Influencer ‘XenaThe Witch' arrested after shooting stranger with a paintball gun for live stream prank

XenaTheWitch, a popular Kick livestreamer, was arrested in Austin on Wednesday following a viral incident where she allegedly shot a woman with a paintball gun during a scavenger hunt. The alleged incident happened on August 9 around 5:55 p.m. near 2200 South Lakeshore Boulevard along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, police said. Amaris Sampson, 29, better known as XenaTheWitch, was taking part in a $30,000 scavenger hunt organized by fellow streamer Paul "Ice Poseidon" Denino. Live footage from the event allegedly shows Sampson shooting a paintball gun at a woman who did not appear to be involved in the hunt or wearing any protective gear. The woman told officers she was in pain and injured after being shot in the thigh. 'Yeah, she f****** shot me. It was one of them girls,' the victim can be heard saying in the viral video. 'I don't give a f***,' Sampson is said to have responded. Following the incident, Austin Police Department issued a warrant for Sampson's arrest. She was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into the Travis County Jail. Police said Sampson deliberately or knowingly injured the victim by firing a paintball at them, and that she acted recklessly by discharging the paintball gun in a public area without taking proper safety measures, endangering others. Sampson faces assault with bodily injury and deadly conduct charges, both Class A misdemeanors. Sampson has since deleted her Kick account, which had over 37,000 followers before the incident. She has also been banned from the platform. Fans shared their disappointment in Sampson on Reddit, X, Instagram, and beyond. 'The things people do for clout because they think it's 'funny,'' one person tweeted. 'Yep! That will do it lol. You got what you deserve,' another agreed. A third person wrote, 'Clout chasing by these streamers is going to start actually getting people hurt and maybe even wiped out.' Sampson has a history of controversial behavior. In a January livestream, her cameraman allegedly stole an Uber driver's phone and threw it under his car. In November 2023, she faced criticism for urinating out of her room window to attract viewers.

Police investigate Kick Streamer's paintball incident that sent one to emergency

Image via: Instagram/@xenathewitcher The Austin Police Department has launched an inquiry regarding a paintball incident that injured a woman allegedly involving Kick streamer XenaTheWitch. The injury occurred on Saturday, August 9, 2025, along Lakeshore Boulevard during an in-person scavenger hunt organized by a controversial internet personality Paul "Ice Poseidon" Denino. KVUE, a local station, had it that several livestreamers were drawn to the event where they would race across North America and complete challenges for a huge prize of $30,000. Some participants, however, seemed to have taken out their paintball guns and started firing in public areas without considering the safety of others. Incident Captured on Stream A snippet shown on the fellow streamer BennyMack's broadcast recorded XenaTheWitch firing her paintball gun, hitting the woman on the left thigh. The victim, unprotected from paintball hits, was not a competitor. 'Yeah, she f***ing shot me, It was one of them girls,' the woman mentioned. 'I don't give a f***,' Xena responded. Public Backlash and Accountability Calls Clips of the incident have been circulating on platforms like Reddit and X, with an audience clamoring for justice. Redditor said, "I hope they turn Xenathewitch in for this," ironically picking up on the trending topic among the online population, insinuating that streamers should pay for their reckless behavior in public broadcasts. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How to Ease Knee Pain Without Injections or Side Effects Read More Undo Lack of protective gear from the victim has become another major topic, given that paintball guns can bruise and injure significantly in the absence of safety equipment. A Pattern of Controversy Unfortunately, XenaTheWitch is no stranger to problematic behavior, and yet again, she was in the headlines at the beginning of the year, involving herself in a showdown with an Uber driver. During that incident, her cameraman allegedly dropped the driver's phone onto the tarmac. This paintball incident revives discussions around discrepancies regarding the safety of unsupervised IRL streaming events. While such challenges tend to attract colossal audiences and sky-high sponsorships, they tend to straddle a fine line between entertainment and endangerment. No arrests have been made at least so far. The investigation is running under the assault with injury division, wherein the authorities are going through footage from several livestreams.
