(Video) JJ Lin's Quick Action Helped Avert Mishap After A Dancer Fell During Concert
Many accidents have happened during concerts which left fans in fear of their idols' safety. Recently, an incident happened during JJ Lin's (林俊杰) concert in Hong Kong, which could've ended horribly if it wasn't for the star's quick action. Over the weekend, the Singaporean star performed at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong as part of his 'Final Lap' concert tour. During the show on 25th May (Sunday), an incident happened that had netizens worried. As shown in videos, JJ Lin was ascending onto the stage via a stage lift when a nearby dancer suddenly fell into the hole. As the stage was in motion, the dancer could've gotten caught in the gap between the stage, resulting in a horrible accident. Thankfully, JJ Lin swiftly reached out to help the dancer back on their feet. The dancer quickly recovered and resumed the choreography. After ensuring his team was okay, JJ Lin continued his performance, showcasing his professionalism. Despite the terrifying moment, the performance went on as usual, highlighting the fortunate outcome of the incident. The video then went viral on social media, drawing netizens' attention. In the comments, many expressed concern for JJ Lin and his dancers' safety. Some said it was fortunate the dancer's leg didn't get caught in the gap. Many fans also praised JJ Lin's quick action, saying he helped prevent a disaster. Others also lamented the dangers of some stage designs, arguing that the stage crew should have better planning to avoid such incidents. This incident isn't the first time someone has fallen into a gap on the stage. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and Hong Kong star Andy Lau (劉德華) all have fallen into a hole on stage during their concerts. However, in all three incidents, the holes on the stages weren't supposed to be left open, sparking anger towards concert staff for the lack of safety measures. Like many fans, we're glad that JJ Lin and his dancer weren't affected by the incident, but we hope the star and his team will be more vigilant. What are your thoughts on this? HK Actor Simon Yam Spotted Smoking In Public While In Singapore For Lady Gaga's Concert
With Lady Gaga's concert tour in Singapore being the only Asian stop in her 'MAYHEM' tour, it's no surprise that many stars are also in the country to catch the show. One of those stars is veteran Hong Kong actor Simon Yam (任達華), whose appearance sparked slight controversy. Earlier this week, a XiaoHongShu user posted photos of her with Simon, revealing that she met the actor in Singapore. She wrote in the captions, 'How could someone bump into him twice in one day! And there was no one around him both times! He was really down to earth. He even played rock-paper-scissors and told us to study hard. He's still very handsome.' In a comment, the user added that the star was in town for the Lady Gaga concert. The post also included a photo of Simon smoking a cigarette beside a trash can by the roadside. Understandably, this image sparked debate amongst netizens, with many criticising him for smoking in public. However, others defended the star, saying he's alone at the moment. Some also criticised the XiaoHongShu user for posting the image, noting that it could damage the actor's image. Funnily enough, the XiaoHongShu post also sparked conversations about his outfit. The 70-year-old wore a white long-sleeved shirt with a denim vest. He also had on a pair of long trousers and a blue cap. Many lamented that the outfit seemed unsuitable for the hot weather in Singapore, even expressing concern that the actor might get a heat stroke because of all the layers. Simon wasn't the only foreign star who flew to Singapore for the concert. Hong Kong stars Gigi Leung (梁詠琪), Joey Yung (容祖兒) and Michelle Reis (李嘉欣) were some of the stars at the concert. Celebrity siblings Jennifer (余香凝) and Zoe Yu (余潔滢) also attended the show and played tourists in the city. Taiwanese stars Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) and Elva Hsiao (萧亚轩) also enjoyed the concert, with Elva spotted sitting comfortably in the VIP lounge. Imagine going to a concert and seeing more stars than you anticipated! Lady Gaga will hold her last performance on Saturday (24th May 2025), so we might see more famous faces in the crowd then! Don Don Donki Closing Another Outlet In Malaysia; Netizens Discuss Why
It's common for stores to close down, but it does spark concern when they close just months after opening. Recently, there have been reports that the Don Don Donki outlet at Nu Sentral is closing down less than a year after its opening. The news first surfaced on social media, with one XiaoHongShu user posting about the closure. In the post, the user revealed that the Japanese discount store chain will close at the end of May. The store had only begun operations eleven months ago, in June 2024. The post also said that the store is offering discounts on its items to clear out its stock, but most of the stuff has sold out. While brands closing down outlets isn't uncommon, it's worth noting that this is the third Don Don Donki outlet to close down within two years. In September 2024, the store's outlet in IOI City Mall in Putrajaya ceased operations after a year and five months. As such, many netizens chimed in on the recent closures, discussing why the brand fails to sustain itself despite being a notable Japanese chain. One of the common arguments is the store's layout, which mimics that of its branches in Japan. Many said Don Don Donki stores are too crowded because of how closely placed the shelves are. Some also mentioned that the store carries too much merchandise, making it hard for customers to focus. However, it's worth noting that this crowded layout is intentional, as the company's founder wanted customers to be intrigued by all the products and buy more items. Another reason why netizens believe Don Don Donki isn't doing too well in the Malaysian market is because of its pricing. While the store is a discount chain in its home country, many said Don Don Donki in Malaysia is unaffordable to most locals. Some even argued that the same items are more expensive in Malaysia than in Japan, likely due to shipping and taxes. With this pending closure, only three Don Don Donki outlets remain in Malaysia: Lot 10 Shopping Centre, Mid Valley Megamall and Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. What are your thoughts on Don Don Donki closing so many outlets in a short period? Source: XiaoHongShu

(Video) Female Fan Pushed Through Group Of Bodyguards To Take Photo With HK Actor Kenneth Ma
Some fans would do anything to get close to their favourite celebrity. Recently, a female fan pushed through bodyguards to take a photo with Hong Kong actor Kenneth Ma (馬國明), prompting mixed reactions from netizens. Kenneth was recently in Malaysia to perform at the 'Star Glories Shine' concert alongside other TVB stars, including Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) and Joel Chan (陳山聰). The event was held at the Arena of Stars at Resorts World Genting, so naturally, the stars casually walked around the iconic tourist destination. Unfortunately, that also meant crowds of fans following the celebrities wherever they went to try to take photos. One video posted on social media shows Kenneth walking around the resort while escorted by a group of bodyguards. However, a few fans were trying to push through the crowd, likely to take photos with the actor. One female fan was trying to squeeze through two bodyguards, making it difficult for Kenneth to move. While the security personnel were trying to push the fan away, Kenneth kindly allowed the fan to take a photo with him. Not only was the actor not angry at the pushy fan, but he told the bodyguards to allow the fan to take a photo with him. Upon getting the okay from Kenneth, the female fan immediately got close and took her picture. Kenneth also had a smile on his face despite the crowd, showing how considerate he is to fans. The same clip also showed him taking a photo with another fan just after the chaotic scene earlier. Many netizens have since reacted to the video, sharing mixed responses. Many praised the actor for his humble and warm character, noting how he graciously took photos with fans when asked. Some also said his gentlemanly side was what won him many fans. However, others criticised the female fan for trying to push through the crowd for her photo, lamenting that she could've accidentally hurt those around her. While Kenneth was kind enough to stop for fans, we don't encourage pushing through crowds to get closer to your favourite star. We're just glad no one was hurt, and we hope Kenneth wasn't too upset by the chaos.
